BTG: June 2025 Discussion Thread
What I mean is that I heard about the reruns and that they were being discussed in this topic. Since that news was so surprising I wanted to read the discussion, which caused me to open this thread with current show discussions which was a spoiler for me because I'm not caught up. Ideally that sort of general information wouldnt be in the current show discussion thread. I get that you didn't have enough information to make a formal post, it's just unfortunate, sorry about how I worded it.

BTG: Encore Discussion Thread
I'm frustrated this wasn't a separate topic since I haven't watched Thursday yet and don't want to be spoiled. Frankly now I wish I had banked more episodes now that there's a week off. What a terrible precedent. I hope this doesn't become a thing where they take a week here and there to save money. GH does this but at least it's spread out through the year one episode at a time. This is bad timing considering they just made that EW list.

Y&R: June 2025 Discussion Thread
In a few years, we will look back on this and think at least back then they had the budget to spray water on the actors. Someone will be cutting that line item soon. It's just as good to have them hold a towel. And then eventually they won't have props either.

DAYS/Y&R: Casting Shocker!!
Oh, it's always great when soap writers do that! I think he died. Cane was killed and came back as a "ghost" but it turned out the ghost was the real Cane and the evil twin was killed. Lol.

B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
Whoa, I didn't realize they were offering it with audio in different languages! I've seen that done with subtitles, never audio. Would be more interesting to have one of the foreign dubbed episodes translated back into English to see how it comes out. I just tried with jdownloader and it grabbed the English version of episode 4607.

JG has done the impossible. I miss Goddard! I will say that CK was good reaming him out.

Y&R: Old Articles
Yes, Rhonda Friedman. He had also played the attorney in Caroline's rape trial. I would not have objected to having both actors on the show. Michael Crawford was a divorce attorney and John Silva could have stuck to criminal law. I think Y&R had a bigger stable of recurring lawyers than other shows so they could mix it up a bit. A friend sent me this fun video: Terry Lester and Lillibet Stern on Dance Fever

Ratings From the 90's
Yep, 2 for March Madness, 4 for UEFA Soccer, and 1 rerun on Memorial Day. The last one caused an issue where the Canadian broadcasters weren't aware, and broadcast a new episode, putting them a day ahead like Y&R is (but Y&R is meant to be that way). Actually not sure if that was ever resolved!

Yes, yuck! Soccer now too (but mainly BTG because Y&R and B&B aren't preempted nationally for that). At least you don't have to deal with it for DAYS. I'll work on it and post when you get up to to current times.

How high are you going to go? Didn't think you'd get to 2008!

Y&R: Old Articles
Oh wow, he definitely could have played another Newman brother! Funny because he looks a little like Peter Bergman after he shaves it off. It's a shame he didn't stay on and was essentially replaced by John Silva. He was good in the courtroom scenes and as Jill's sometime lover. Even saved her life when she got shot.

I know you can only say what you can say but I wonder is there some reason for her being there having to do with the actual show or is this just she needed some credits toward her pension or something? Ever since Steve Kent joined, I've gotten the vibe that Y&R is seen as somewhere to park people who just need a paycheck, and they just keep cutting the production budget to bare bones. I bet there's a lot of bloat they can cut to reinstate the overnight camera crew and other necessities.

Y&R/B&B/GL Vault Updates
It's working fine now. Question for the B&B group: I see @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded multiple seasons from Videoland ❤️ (in the folders that are to be put away). They are huge folders and difficult to download so I started breaking them down into months but I realized they are by season so for example, Season 4 spans from March 1990 to March 1991. Now I'm wondering where to actually place them, since we have the Full Episodes section divided by year, not seasons. And most of these seasons we already have in full, so these are duplicates. Not sure if it's necessary to keep the older versions. I could just make another new section for Seasons, so the main folders would be "Behind the Scenes and Interviews," "Clips," "Full Episodes," "Full Seasons," "Music CDs," and "photo archive Marquise" but I'm not sure that really makes sense. Also wondering since we have almost every full episode now if "Clips" can be deleted in its entirety, as it's nearly 300GB.

B&B: From Television City to Sunset Las Palmas Studios
At this point Y&R's next step is to go fully green screen and have the actors Zoom from home.

Ratings from the 70's
Meant to come back to this! I was able to find most of them. I am not sure if you did 1974-1977 but I did not find it in the 70s thread. This is an amazing resource for EVERY soap. 1973 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/78/#comments 1973 more research https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/80/#comments 1973 Update https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/82/#comments 1978 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/135/#comments 1979-1988 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/115/#comments 1989 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/122/#comment-1876530 1990-1999 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/58300-ratings-from-the-90s/page/11/#comments 2000-2004 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/58300-ratings-from-the-90s/page/58/#comments

So maybe he just wanted to finish out his career at Y&R.
