We need more Rita, her relationship with EJ was fun, and not in just a silly way. I hope she becomes more of a talk-to for him. Speaking of talk-to's, I don't know why Marlena's scene with Eric annoyed me, but she should treat him like a grown man. The next time Marlena asks Eric about working with Nicole (who is also one of Marlena's clients), I hope he asks what it is like to see Roman at the Brady Pub every week, after she cheated on him with John, and then played with his emotions while he was in a wheelchair years ago when Kristen found him and brought him back to Salem. The reporters at The Spectator don't seem to realize it is a daily newspaper, not a magazine. Eric and Nicole have been working on this story about the homeless for days. And, Everett seems to hit save only once a month on his articles. They all need to publish something already. Especially since the paper seems to willfully ignore the drug ring, which may be the biggest story in Salem. But, here's the thing, Paulina called the blood evidence about Li circumstantial, yet she fired EJ because he might become the permanent CEO. She knew he was helping out at DImera, given that Stefan was arrested and fired. She terminated EJ before the board ever convened. That being said, I'm happy he's no longer the DA, that was a dumb move plotwise and needed to be resolved. The whole concern about Clyde telling people that Steve and John broke him out of prison seems false. Why would anyone believe CLyde? And they could always blame the entire thing on Goldman.

Today, I recalled that it is an incredible coincidence that both Holly and Tate were carried by gestational hosts (not their biological parents). It's some pretty messy storytelling that both Nicole and Theresa can lament that they weren't able to bond with their children as infants (in the same year). Salem is in desperate need of an ethical OB-Gyn. I have forgotten if Nicole knows that Leo was there when she gave birth. It seems like a missed opportunity for her to harbor some resentment toward him for being partially responsible for the car crash that started the whole swap. I guess that's another example of @AbcNbc247's theory about propping up Leo. Abby's death seemed airtight. At one point didn't they even try to say that Rolf couldn't bring her back? Didn't they bury her in the backyard? And, was she even working at The Spectator when she was killed?

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
Given that I watched knowing Margo's outcome, I wonder for you watching it the first time if the motive of primary suspect seems valid (name withheld to avoid spoilers)? I get why that person was a suspect, but it doesn't seem like what Margo did to that person was reason enough to kill her.

Just as I praised Marlena last week for keeping BobEtte's confidence about quitting therapy, she tells Brady that Alex is a womanizer. I mean, I know Brady just got her a Mother's Day gift, but she didn't have to throw Alex under the bus like that just because he's sleeping with Kristen. I'm amused by the idea that by the time Xander finds out he's the true heir to the Kiriakis fortune, there won't be any money left in the coffers. The window in Alex's apartment was distractingly fake. Why would a highrise have frosted windows?

Fun fact about Lotus Point. At the time, a resort was in the news, as it was developed where Marineland once was in the wealthy enclave of Palos Verdes (funded by Lowes Resorts and developed by a man named York Long Point - Lowes/Point = Lotus Point).

IMHO, Jamie was ruined by Sandy, more than re-casting. He had been a carefree, creative, eligible bachelor, with an enviable lifestyle. Then, Sandy comes along and suddenly he's the second banana. Blaine and Cecile played him for a fool. He lost some of his edge, and definitely a lot of his heat. Years later, Jamie and Vicky should've been two peas in a pod. They were both comfortable with the spoils of wealth. But, they both had a tenuous attachment to their respective paternal sources of finance. And, most of all, they both felt as if they weren't their parent's favorite child (Jamie with Mac, and Vicky with Donna) (for all the Cpt Obviouses in the crowd, I know Mac wasn't Jamey's father, but you know what I mean). But, rather than empathizing with each other, Jamey was always trying to teach Vicky a lesson. It felt like plot-wise, the goal was to create a rivalry between Donna and Rachel by creating a Romeo and Juliet romance. However, the relationship really just served to confirm that Jamey was always second best.

If Abigail returns from the dead, I'm not going to be thrilled. And if Annalynne McCord's character winds up having some part of Abigail transplanted into her, that seems like a repeat of that girl that Brady fell in love with; Summer.

Agreed on EJ as a villain. My point is that there's no logic in being angry at Eric and Nicole. I know he's a jealous guy. But, they didn't switch the DNA test. Nicole has pledged her devotion to EJ. And he's already punched Eric, and they seemed to get over it. And, there's a certain soap logic that by giving Jude back to Nicole, she'd quit working with Eric and be eternally grateful to EJ, who has raised other men's children in the past for the woman he loved.

It looks like they're going to pin Li's murder on Gil, the guy from The Bistro that assaulted Ava.

today evoked a couple of thoughts and questions For those still wondering about the flashback timeline, today in Salem it is Sunday, Mother's Day. So they exist on the slightest futuristic plane in the multiverse. The Bistro serves supermarket bagels? Where's the croissant? the baguette? at least a danish... How much do you want to bet that Rolf was just stalling whilst waiting for the 23&me results? He didn't do his own DNA test. Topaz? Can't Eric do anything correctly? And who wants a donut before they make sweet sweet love?

ELQ (GH) and BE (OLTL) both inexplicably moved their headquarters to the same town as the CEO's eldest son, who, in both cases, had no interest in the family business. Alan was a doctor, and Clint was a reporter, but for some reason their dad's moved their entire company just to live in the same town. Can you imagine how angry the executive assistants must have been to hear that they had to move to some po-dunk town because their boss wanted to be closer to their bratty kid?

ATWT - I actually think Walsh Enterprises and Worldwide, the management consulting firms, were inspired business choices for a soap opera. Today, IRL, there's a lot of talk about McKinsey and The Boston Group, so they were ahead of their time. It is reasonable that a management firm could be headquartered anywhere, including a small town like Oakdale. Nobody has any idea what qualifies someone to be a consultant, so it was plausible for anyone from Emily to Connor to work there. And they consult with other businesses, so you get legendary accounts like Kingsly-Malta. However, regardless of the focus of the business, every company on an ABC soap had both a cosmetics division, and a European office. To this day, I don't know why Buchanan Enterprises, an energy/oil company moved their main office from Texas to Pennsylvania, or why they had an office in London, but they did.

Dallas Discussion Thread
I still enjoy the fantasy that is what she wears for breakfast by the pool at home. “let's see, Ellie and Clayton are drinking coffee, so I'll throw on this leather fringed dress with matching shoes and earrings, just keepin' it casual” And kudos to Linda Grey for pulling off some terrible expository dialogue in that scene. They're talking about Pam abandoning the family. And Miss Ellie says it will be rough on Christopher. Then, Clayton tells Sue Ellen that she has a special role to play in Christopher's life. And Sue Ellen says, “yes, because I am his real aunt, as Kristin's sister, Christopher's real mother.” As if it is perfectly natural to state the obvious to your mother-in-law and her husband.

I blame the costuming, I just watched this scene on Dallas's TikTok channel, and the dress with matching earrings would be enough for me to quit, if only to maintain my self-esteem 🤨 Is this Sue Ellen's final season? Because they're discussing Pam in hospital, not letting anyone see her. I also re-watched her final scene. It has some fun banter with JR. But, the whole movie conspiracy seems hollow. Because if she held it in a vault for years, how could she be assured anyone would distribute it, let alone see it.
