I guess Allie wasn't technically a teen, but I'd throw her into the punishing-women-thru-pregnancy syndrome. Jada is the lone survivor, and she got punished by having to be bored to death by Rafe. I mean, there's something in the water in Salem that causes women to just be constantly fertile.

I'm going to give DAYS two episodes for prom, no more than that. The average viewer is, (how do I say this kindly?) mature. I don't want to see a bunch of kids figuring out their first kiss. Let's get back to the good stuff. And, g%$ help us if we get another teen pregnancy. Sometimes I think soap writers are too caught up in writing morality tales. It is OK for a couple to have casual sex. We don't need to punish female characters for being lustful by saddling them with an infant. That being said, why are there more adults than teens at this prom?

At the very least, Rita should've been the one to tell EJ that Kristen was voted in as CEO. And given her exasperation over EJ, imagine how it might've been to watch her interact with Kristen. I'm a big fan of soap's incidental characters like assistants, cooks, and housekeepers. And now that they can allow more people to film to together, it would be nice to see more of those folks to fill in all the blank spaces in Salem. BTW was Melinda the DA for two days in their universe's time? I hope she's getting severance, and holiday pay, given that Paulina fired her on a federal holiday. Of all the story corrections post strike, I'm surprised the RonC wanted to make sure that EJ was the DA again. It was never a well considered plot point.

If you are ever inclined, I would be enthralled to read a synopsis of New Day in Eden from your perspective. My only memories of the series were Jack Wagner and Grant Wilson appearing in their respective briefs. Wagner as Warren was such a disappointment. I always felt like Warren had a ton of potential as Lionel's son. Early episodes hinted at a desire for wheeling and dealing. He tells Minx that he's been talking to investors who want to build a bar on the beach. Then he turns into this do-gooder journalist who has none of the Lockridge DNA. Quel dommage.

It is not a very current reference, but after I Love Lucy, Lucille Ball played Lucy Carmichael, and Gale Gordon played Theodore Mooney aka Mr. Mooney, the manager of the bank where Lucy worked on The Lucy Show. Meanwhile, we've never seen or heard from Rita, (EJ's secretary), since RonC returned. Never mind Jen Lilley, #bringbackRita. She was a hoot.

I guess it depends on how much you like gooey buttercake and fried ravioli, but Frank Ryan lived in St. Louis for years when he returned to Riverside with Charlotte Greer on his tail. 😉

Yes, this was post strike, but Kimberly left for Australia in 1983 after she made a splashy comeback with Pat saving baby Arly on the plane ride to NYC. It seemed like a setup for a Pat/Kim/Amanda triangle, but there was never a romantic interaction between Pat and Kimberly. She's there for the ascendancy of the Kirklands (whose dominance as noted in the oral history was vastly overstated). And then she's shipped off as soon Charlotte Greer appears. Which must mean that it was post Labine (but I never recall writers in accurate historical order). The bright side is that it lead to the amusing period when Roger was raising Arly in the Three Men and Baby scenario.

You know it's a RonC script when the bank manager is named Mr. Mooney The man cannot resist a reference. The Goldman red herring about the code just felt like a waste of time. And how is Jada going to offer to free Gabi when she hasn't even filled Rafe in on her plan? Furthermore, in case anyone was wondering (which I doubt), imaginary casting discussions are my third least favorite topic of discussion. In first place would be grandstanding about the politics of actors, followed by discussions about ratings by people who have no understanding of how to calculate variablity beyond chance.

She's also one of the best things on this season of Hacks, a show that I did not enjoy otherwise. It often felt as if they purposely kept EJ and Kristen separate while James Scott was playing the part. But, now there needs to be comment on their shared past. Because it is so odd to see them as brother and sister (half, step, adopted, or whatever).

I wish they would flesh out the Stefan/EJ/Chad dynamic outside the corporate intrigue or romantic entanglements. Because I like Chad as the voice of reason who wants nothing to do with the company, while still enjoying the family's largess and privilege. But, EJ and Stefan seem to duplicate each other. They're both fancy, European, impulsive guys who make bad choices to hold on to their lovers. Now, we need to know how they are unique. Stefan was an obvious EJ replacement when he was created, but now they exist together, they need to be differentiated. I also need more from EJ and Kristin. I don't think that they've shared this much time in Salem together. Given EJ's soft spot for his mother, I wonder why he is so tolerant of Kristen? There's a lot more there that doesn't require the constant back and forth about who is the CEO.

But, am I the only one who never felt like Chad and Abby well suited for each other as a couple. Maybe it is because Chad is not a very fleshed out character, and I still see him as a bit slimy. I never bought into their attraction, they just seemed put together out of convenience (to quote another thread). Also, Chad seems to have developed more as a moral character and has more purpose at the newspaper than he had during his marriage to Abby. For example, I like him as an outsider amongst his siblings. I also like his friendship with Alex and Stefan. So, if this is all a setup for another go round of the power plays between Gabi&Stefan vs. Chad&Abby, I'm not here for it.

I only have a few thoughts about today's episode, which I rate a 6/10. It's kind of funny that Marlena's office is so small that she's forced to do therapy across her desk. My therapist usually sits in a lounge chair a few feet from me on the sofa. I think that I'd be a little uncomfortable talking to her like I'm trying to qualify for a loan. But, good on her for not accepting Leo's call, therapy isn't free buddy, save your dreams for session. Also, we need to discuss Jack dye job. I know he's on recurring, but he's got to find a color and stick with it, or I am not going to recognize him the next time that he's in town. Theresa and Leo have never met? Is that true? Never? Like never, ever? Like they've never been in the same room or at the same party? That seems unlikely. And, is he really going to see Diana? I wonder if they cast her, or if it will all happen off-screen? Finally, how is it heart-warming that a man and his fiancé both think of the same woman as their mother? Maggie's nice, but it's a bit much, and she needs to get out of bed already.

I was wondering if that meant that a performer could not be nominated for an award the same year that they died. For example, Douglas Watson was nominated for the 16th annual Daytime Emmys, which were broadcast in June 1989, although he died in May 1989. But, the awards were for episodes produced between March 1988 and March 1989. So, I guess he couldn't have been nominated for his final episode on 5/10/1989 the next year? At the same time, any award show is meant to be a promotional opportunity, (rather than a legitimate acknowledgment of talent). So, I understand the desire to highlight shows and actors that are still on air.

@Mona Kane CroftWasn't Willis planning on building something for himself and Angie? It was probably not a farm, but he always had some blueprints in hand.

I believe you, as you have always been a valuable source of being historic accuracy. But, back when Willis, Vince, and the other Frames were in Bay City, didn't one of them buy a farm? Or maybe I'm just remembering the kitchen being decorated in a farmhouse style.

My understanding at the time was that Josie and Sharlene returned to Jason Frame's farm, not “The” Frame Farm, because his siblings still lived in the original place, correct? BTW imaging the tongue twister of having to say Frame Farm five times in one episode. 👅

I was pondering a few items over dinner. From the time Iris left Houston, until she returned to Bay City, did she, or Dennis, own a part of Alex Wheeler's oil company? (I forget which one was World Oil). And, while I'm well aware that it was a retcon, what do we estimate was the timing of her affair with Michael? Was it before he met the twins, or after he left for Hawaii? Finally, what became of Michael's business, Hudson Enterprises. Weren't they a tech firm? According to AWHP it ceased to exist, but did he sell it or did it go under?

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I've been dipping in and out of the Belle story because it is so morose. But, it will never cease to amaze me how the foreign soaps treat abortion as a private matter between a woman and her doctor, with no moralizing or condemnation. It is very refreshing, and dare I say, so British.
