  1. I just hope poor Katie doesn't have to lend Taylor her brother Storm's heart. 😉
  2. I cannot imagine DAYS of the past using Connie as the big summer story. I guess it advanced Stefan/Ava and EJ/Gabi, but only through trauma. What's missing is two romantic characters solving a crime together. 30 years ago, Tripp and Wendy would've spent the summer solving Li's murder, dancing in an abandoned room, learning to trust each other. Now, they're off in the Far East and a forgotten footnote to this plot. And don't get me started on why Connie would go to Ava's rather than leave town. I liked my own idea that Connie's “superpower” was that she was so plain in a town of stunning people that she was practically invisible. But, her trip to Ava's meant that she had to walk through the Pub with a knife, unseen, and get up to Ava's room. She also had to know where Ava lives, and she had to know that she was alone. I understand that Connie is meant to be psychotic, but that doesn't mean that she's also psychic. Finally, the multiple contrivances to separate Chad and F-Abby so she can whine about her plan are silly. She tells him she remembers something, he says wait so that the kids are in their rooms. She recites her vows, he's so happy that he leaves the room to take a call. It defies logic that he keeps leaving at these key moments.
  3. They actually told us how she was going to die in yesterday's episode. Unless Sam becomes a mermaid, I think she's a goner.
  4. On the plus side, at least Steve thought to ask Clyde about how John wound up in the same place as F-Abby. I hate it when a villain is confronted and characters forget to ask the obvious questions. On the other hand, I have no idea why Melinda would care if Gabi loves Stefan, while being tied to a chair with a head wound!
  5. There once was a villain named Alma, Whose schemes stirred up endless drama. She gaslit poor Blaine, with a doll in the game, 'Til her knife fight became her last karma!
  6. Georgia is also attractive for actors to live part-time, because their income is taxed at less than 20%, and they aren't taxed in their home state. https://www.georgia.org/industries/film-entertainment/georgia-film-tv-production/production-incentives
  7. I had no idea we were chatting with Oscar @Xanthe Wilde in our midst. 😄✍🏼️
  8. The motivation in the F-Abby story make no sense. So, Clyde has their mother hidden somewhere. What is stopping F-Abby, or Marc, from asking the Dimera's for help? Also, Clyde wants to get out of the Max Prison, so they have a negotiation tactic. Because access to the Dimera fortune (which only partially includes Chad), is meaningless if he is in lockup. @Antoyne, I had the exact same issue with Connie's knowledge of mansion blueprints, given that she's never even visited the house. Plus, how did she get in and out with the bomb? And how did she ever learn how to make a time bomb? Finally, if Melinda is wearing a bandage on her head because Connie struck her with a pipe, why is there no blood?
  9. @Xanthe I blame a copywriter with the soul of a poet.
  10. That is an interesting detail. Who knew pimping paid so well? (or was the extortion?) 😉
  11. All things being equal, I'd rather see more build up of characters Johnny and/or Tate's age, versus a story focusing on the octogenarian set. I've got nothing against either actor, but I also hardly notice Roman on a weekly basis.
  12. Today's ep 6/10 I appreciate that due to budgetary constraints, they use these time jumps. Like Connie and Gabi struggling over the knife, and then the cut to Roman finding the room empty. It is a clever way of avoiding too much blocking, or the need for stunts, and I like that it depends on the audience's imagination. I don't need to see Connie dragging around Gabi and Melinda in order to get it. Also, it makes sense for Roman to investigate, as he was once the police commissioner, than for Paulina to go to Connie's apartment. It doesn't make sense why Gabi can't control her phone, or call someone during an emergency, but I'm willing to suspend disbelief for an episode. Similar to how Connie wouldn't know the blueprints of the mansion, because the sooner this over, the better. BTW, I was also thankful that Connie confessed why she stabbed Rafe, because I had completely forgotten the whole deal with Everett to off Rafe, so Jada would be single. That was a plot that went nowhere fast.
  13. Why isn't she rich? Wasn't she wealthy when she first appeared? I mean, if Clyde can afford to run an organized crime ring from behind bars, can't she afford more than a room above a bar? Also, she's only been out of work for a few days, how is she behind in her rent already? It can't all be going to her Peacock subscription.
  14. The original Footballers Wives is one of my favorites. And it would've translated well overseas. But by 2007, it was already out of date, and they could not tell the same outrageous stories in post-Jackson/Timberlake Superbowl culture. One more thing ruined by Justin…
  15. Who is the lady in back next to Grant Show?
  16. Victoria got the money, but Scott was always rich, as evidenced by his final trip to Italy with Dawn, which I assume was not filled with hostels and dollar pizza.
  17. Woof, that was a lot for a Tuesday! I was not expecting so much to happen in one day. Upon reflection, I don't mind EJ and Gabi, although I think it will wind up being EJ and F-Abby. Stefan and Ava are also OK as partners. I'm glad he offered her to work at the Bistro, as her departure was close to sexual harassment. I mean, resigning for having an affair with the owner doesn't sound kosher, even if his wife later hired, and then fired her at her company. I also don't know why Ava doesn't seem to have any money? The whole EJ as DA thing is totally confusing. I thought Paulina knew about the kidnapping (didn't Leo write about it in the paper?). It seems out of the blue that suddenly someone called her. What was her plan to prosecute EJ? And does he or does he not want to work as the DA? I don't get it. Unless, getting rid of EJ as DA is somehow tied to Clyde... Connie has got to stop confessing to everyone. And, how strong is she that she can keep hitting people over the head so hard that they pass out? (also, silencing a phone? doesn't anyone text in Salem?) Finally, how can you tell a show is written by told by dude? Gabi is going to be the one to beg for forgiveness from Stefan in order to save their marriage (or they'll realize they love each other when he saves her from a crisis with Connie).
  18. No car, no job, no home, and somehow Brady is still one of the most eligible bachelors in Salem. It's slim pickin' over at Small Bar.
  19. It's unclear from the recap of 11/18/23 @AbcNbc247, but I've always assumed it was more like a merger than being bought out. Also, kind of funny that this may have been one of the last times we actually saw Brady go to work 😉
  20. Very creative post time jump episode. Still not a daily viewer, but I am intrigued.
  21. Our prediction came true, next stop lottery tickets! OK, the writing was on the wall that F-Abby wasn't evil, but Clyde's web of influence has yet to be demonstrated. I guess there was the evening of three terrors, but how is he still texting threats from solitary. He's not that cute that he could've seduced another guard. And given that nobody is watching, what's stopping F-Abby from admitting the truth to Steve? That being said, most of my issues go out the window when we get a scene like Chad going through his wedding album. Are all three weddings in the one album? Or are they a bound set? And who calls for Sushi delivery, why not use the doordash app? How can Xander fire Brady, doesn't the Black family own Basic Black, and he and Alex just agreed to a merger? I think the missed opportunity is having Alex train Xander in what he learned about running the company. Make them friends/comrades. And then re-do the Dimeras versus the Kiriakus feud against Stefan and EJ.
  22. The annual social media outcry of people not included in the Emmys In-Memoriam segment has begun, and this year includes Tyler Christopher and Johnny Wactor. Of course, neither were members of the academy, and it would hardly be considered a snub to miss out on being sung to by Jellyroll. But, the social media world has got to be mad about something. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/shelley-duvall-in-memoriam-2024-emmys-left-out-1236003587/?taid=66e81dc68d05fb00017bf564&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=social&utm_source=threads It remains my least favorite form of protest, because it means nothing, and it is just clickbait based on some random tweets.
  23. I just learned from watching the Emmys that Kristen Scott Thomas has been on the AppleTV series Slow Horses for four seasons!?! (written by Will Smith, but not that Will Smith). I am endlessly fascinated that Apple has all of these shows that receive zero press attention. What leads to the obvious question; do more people know that Serena is on DAYS or Kristen is on AppleTV?
  24. To be fair, there's no established rubric for “greatest”. One could argue “most popular” or “most romantic”. But, to me, greatest assumes there is no ranking because everyone on the list is better than good. 😉🤔
