DAYS: September 2024 Discussion Thread
I'd love to hear the Body&Soul pitch that Abe gave to the streaming site. “So, we're going to reboot this cancelled soap opera, but with criminal doppelgängers for the actors that we can't afford. Yes, we were so lucky to find exact dupes for the actors because this psychiatrist in town was cloned multiple times, between the times she turned into the devil. No, in real life, not in the plot, and we're getting a tax credit for hiring parolees. As well as a local chef and a former CEO. Also, good news, it's being written by the local gossip columnist, we've cut the cast down to just four people, and we're shooting the whole thing in a pub!”

DAYS: September 2024 Discussion Thread
Setting aside how a high school girl is working in a bistro slinging martinis on a weeknight. As well as the fact that all of this is occurring the same night that Connie was arrested (or is it the next night?). I enjoyed the Fiona and Sophia scene. I thought she gave good advice for Sophia to admit her feelings, and cut the chord if Tate doesn't respond. Not only that, but I'm very happy Jada instantly intervened in Xander's plan. Yet, I don't get it. Was he hoping to drug Brady into shooting himself? How does that work? Brady was passed out, so would Xander shoot him, and put the gun in Brady's hand? Couldn't they tell it was murder from the angle? And wouldn't it be smarter if Xander stayed out of the way and let his hitman cover the liability? And how does one break into John Black's house? You'd think it would either be covered with security tech, or with so many people living there, somebody would be home (Xander certainly didn't check to find out). Finally, when Brady wakes up, how is he not going to remember his one conversation with a stranger in the past six months? I've not soured on Holly, but it is a lot that both girls in the Tate triangle have questionable morals. There needs to be one nice option. My totally probably incorrect guess

I really liked Eric's bag, and if anyone knows who makes it, drop a link. I like spunky Sarah, but I wish her mission was more rational. I don't know why she is ready to forgive Brady. I would prefer if her issue with Xander was that she wanted to be a part of his plans, as an equal, rather than him keeping secrets. The idea of the central conflict in this relationship is Xander learning to trust Sarah is intriguing, but unexplored. It's kind of funny that they hardly ever show Sarah moving around in her chair. She just shows up places, or someone pushes her into a scene. She never moves on her own. And, why doesn't she have a motorized chair? They can afford it. The fact they aren't making any plans for how Sarah will live in the future only confirms how temporary this situation seems to be.

What is the standard procedure for deleting files from "My Attachments"?
Oy, same concern. And because we can't edit old posts, I cannot delete old/large attachments. It's a catch 22 situations. My only solace is seeing that this has become a common issue.
-
Can't edit my own posts from yesterday or prior
I have a similar issue, because I reached my attachment limit, but I cannot edit old posts to remove attachments, so there's nothing that I can do to resolve the issue.

Of course, he would do it for free. The question is should he do it for free? Given that he's a got a baby to support in Paris. 🤔 I am also amused that Eric was running around desperately searching for Holly at school, but now that it is clearly evening, he's no longer looking for her. And, Johnny's worried about Chanel in love scenes with Alex, but Justin is cool with it when it comes to Bonnie.

DAYS: September 2024 Discussion Thread
Am I nuts that my biggest gripe with today's episode was Eric saying he'll take the pictures for free? Body&Soul is a big production, they could pay him. And Kate and Abe don't owe him anything, nor is he related to them. Is it a visa thing where he can't be employed in Salem while he's a residence of France? Why does this guy refuse to make money? Nicole's going to grow tired of that really quickly.

Another World Discussion Thread
I always thought that they were trying to make the Garrison daughter-in-law into a more substantial character. So, maybe she lied about the last name, after being paid off by Michael, in order to throw Marley off track until Michael felt ready to expose himself. Although, I guess it was fortunate later, because you wouldn't want Harrisons and Garrisons on the same show.

Also, Michael's long-lost son was later able to find him, despite the fact that he changed his name. And Reginald regularly referred to him as Hudson, although as a young man before the war, his last name would've been Garrison when he worked in the stables.

Quickly? It feels like Abe and Kate have been in pre-production since May! They have a set. They have a script. They've hired the actors. There's no need for promo since it is streaming. LFG Also, probably an unpopular opinion, but Connie slayed her final scene. I thought she displayed the appropriate amount of pathos, without seeming OTT. The kiss with Li was sweet, and she pulled at my heartstrings. That being said, I don't know who will prosecute this case because Melinda and EJ have a conflict of interest. And I still don't know if EJ wants to be the DA, given that Melinda is going back to Dimera (where she worked for a day, but still got a huge paycheck?).

DAYS: September 2024 Spoilers
My first guess was either Mia or Melanie, both exes of Chad, but probably too young to have a kid F-Abby's age, given Sydney's relative age. Although Melanie could've been kidnapped after her visit to Salem last year and given plastic surgery, Clyde could've captured Carly, and that could be why they keep bringing up Daniel's car crash. Then I thought it could be a relative of Chad's bio-mother, Madeline. And finally I realized how many characters related to Chad have names that begin with M.🤔

DAYS: September 2024 Spoilers
Question to ponder while we suffer through a week of Body & Soul: Do you think the mother of Greene siblings is a character that we've met before? We know RonC has an affinity toward historic character female character returns. I think Clyde has been hired by someone to coerce F-Abby and Mark. And there are many returns planned for the future. So, what if it is someone we already know, or knew from the past…

DAYS: Will classic episodes ever be available?
Clearly, we would all like to see actors like Marie Cheatham benefit from any profits derived from re-airing her work on DAYS. My point is that these social media channels that are masquerading as promotional sites for daytime fans, do not prioritize that value. In my opinion, any “real fan” would support fair compensation, and without the original production's participation that is not going to happen. So, I'm willing to forego my selfish whim to see Addy and Tommy, if I know the creatives won't get residuals. The X (formerly Twitter) user that I cited cleared exploited the boundaries of this limitation of Fair Use by posting daily clips without any transformation of the material or context of a critique. The use should not be so extensive or pervasive that it ceases to function as critique and becomes, instead, a way of satisfying the audience’s taste for the thing (or the kind of thing) that is being quoted. In other words, the new use should not become a market substitute for the work (or other works like it).

DAYS: Will classic episodes ever be available?
Hot take, that I'm certain won't get widespread support. Posting content, without a concern for how actors and writers will get residuals, is not the same thing as providing “free publicity.” We need to value the need to provide support to creatives, over our selfish desire to watch old episodes. These are people with union contracts, we should respect those agreements. If the production wants to release old clips, while sharing the profits, I would support that. But, this type of posturing by fans is not the vibe.

B&B: Who should die so that their heart can be given to Taylor?
I vote for Flo, Storm's daughter, in keeping with tradition. Or, have Prince Omar sacrifice someone in Taylor's honor.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
It was one of those 1990s things, like the Amy Fisher story, where every network had a version sold by someone involved in the trial. CBS had Menedez: A Killing in Beverly Hills told from the perspective of one of the investigators, Fox had this one with Billy Warlock told by a friend of Lyle's, and later Lifetime did a movie (which I think had the input of Leslie Abramson). Needless to say, they were both less sympathetic, and lascivious, than the current series.

DAYS: September 2024 Discussion Thread
Johnny and Chanel suffer from a lack of character definition. They need a motivation, and they need a purpose. Even if they were just this generation's Tony&Anna and only wanted to fulfill their selfish needs, while commenting on the plebeian lives of those around them, it would be something. But, to me, they are boring because they have no agenda. I grow tired of stories where the conflict is external to the relationship, rather than an internal dynamic that complicates the ability to form a lasting commitment. I realize Alex, Xander, Tate, and Johnny can't all be rich guys with complicated senses of morality, but we require some means of telling them apart. And when you add in EJ and Brady, the whole town is just men from wealthy families, who aren't driven by achievement, waiting for a girl to kiss them.
