  1. Color me shocked that Alex did not find a reason to doff his top whilst pumpkin carving.
  2. Although I'm not holding my breath waiting for the girl who played Charlotte to become the next Sabrina Carpenter. 😎😉
  3. At a bar, serving drinks? (just kidding, I'm not a stickler for realism in Salem) Speaking of which, whatever happened to Tate having to work at the Pub in order to pay back the damage at his boarding school?
  4. From SOD - comings and goings Days of our Lives Louise Sorel (Vivian Alamain): Stefan’s (Brandon Barash) homicidal mother is coming back to Salem next week. The actress was last seen in the role, which she created back in 1992, in 2020. John-Paul Lavoisier (Philip Kiriakis): Kate Roberts’s (Lauren Koslow) son with the late Victor Kiriakis returns to Salem. He hasn’t been seen since October of 2023. Patrika Darbo (Nancy Miller): The actress will be seen this week with her on-screen daughter, Joy Wesley. Her last visit to Salem took place in 2022. The actress talked exclusively with Digest about her comeback here. AlexAnn Hopkins (Joy Wesley): Chloe’s sister and Nancy’s daughter will be seen this week. Look for her to cross with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) in scenes, as shown in this week’s promo for the show. Al Calderon (Javi Hernandez): Gabi’s (Cherie Jimenez) and Rafe’s (Galen Gering) cousin arrives in Salem next week. Casey Moss (JJ Deveraux): JJ’s return continues this week as he learns from Uncle Steve (Stephen Nichols) that the impostor (AnnaLynne McCord) targeted Chad (Billy Flynn). Tina Huang (Melinda Trask): The DiMera lawyer will have scenes with most of the DiMera siblings who live in town — Stefan (Brandon Barash), EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk). Lesley Robins (Nurse Lesley): The host/reporter/producer for Young Hollywood has snagged a role on the Peacock soap. She shot the scenes last week to air sometime in 2025. Bruce Beatty (Dr. Seth Burns): The Salem University Hospital’s administrator will be logging more time on the set of Body and Soul.
  5. Friendships were certainly explored more during the strike. And familiar friends have a long history in Salem, including Jen and Hope. I recall Alex and Chad had a nice rapprochement when Alex played ball with Thomas. Chad and Everett, and even Leo, had some pleasant scenes at the newspaper. And the development of Xander and Chloe from friends to lovers was entertaining. Also, I love the bonds between Chad & Julie, and Xander & Maggie. But, I agree, Sarah and Gabi have no female friendships. For example, I wonder why Gabi and Chanel don't share more scenes, as they seem well suited as friends. I blame the production model. While it doesn't bother me that they film a decade in advance. (😎😉) The fact that they seem to block film similar scenes partners often means that we don't get a lot of interactions between stories. Also, did Marlena say that John went to Greece or Italy to lay flowers of Catarina's grave? I thought he went to Greece, but the synopsis says Italy.
  6. Optimistically, it could allow Brady to mature a bit and pinch hit for John. I'd like to see Brady smarten up, and pairing him with Steve could be interesting. I differ from @carolineg in that I think friendships are one of RonC's writing strengths. Jada & Stephanie, Chad & Stefan, and Brady & Eric are all entertaining when they play them as friends. Mostly because they are not just sounding boards, but they also ground them, and make them explain their motives. I just wish they'd remember Kate's bond with Kayla and Marlena from their adventure together.
  7. I feel like Konstantin and Victor's plane crash were established before the strike. The scabs just prolonged Konnie and Theresa's plotting, and then RonC wrote the resolution. However, I think this would've been more salient of a plot had the strike not occurred and F-abby was introduced nine months ago. Maybe, F-Abby should've been tied to Doug's death, the puzzle box, and the fire at the Horton house? In order to refocus on the core family. Also, John Black being missing is a key detail that dooms this plot. It feels weird that Victor's death has instigated so many stories, when Stefano's death was not as impactful. And with the loss of Doug (and John) coming up so soon, there's a lot of focus on passing.
  8. As a Gen X-er, I think there is nothing more Gen-Z than all the posts on Threads about people with Harris/Walz signs in their yard or wearing a Harris tee-shirt to the supermarket. Not only are the Gen-Z-ers humblebragging about their 'fearless' endorsement of the VP, but they also seem amazed/disappointed that nobody is arguing with them about their bold decision. Firstly, you live in a primarily democratic district while shopping at Whole Foods, and second people IRL just aren't that rude. It is as if they expect people to react like people do online, rather than how actual humans respond. I would argue most people don't take the time to look at your tee-shirt or read your sign. I'm happy that they are involved in the race, but their virtue signaling is amusing. To me, it is like those guys at their first Gay Pride Parade who engage the five people from religious groups there to show opposition. Because it feels like the youth is so acclimated to the way the media covers protests, that it is not an experience for them unless they face conflict.
  9. Isn't the fall spoiler that Phillip is coming back to contest Victor's will for his son? Or was that part of those fake spoilers that someone photoshopped from SOD last month?
  10. I think the press is also being willfully naive on the gender optics of the Al Smith dinner. It is a white-tie formal evening. She would have had to wear a gown, in a campaign where her team seems to have made the conscience (and smart) choice to keep her in pants. The press comments on her choice of dress, the designer, and the cost of the bespoke outfit would've totally swept her victory over Bret Baier under the rug. I'm not suggesting that is why didn't go. But, it plays into the narrative about why it was smart for her not to go. I mean, let Trump sit there looking far too comfortable in an old-fashioned tailcoat, two rows in front of the woman who successfully prosecuted him, while cussing to Catholics. It is far better for her campaign for her to be in the Midwest, successfully clapping back at the two Trumpers who tried to heckle her.
  11. I got one correct! I called it on Joy and Johnny. Those Wesley/Lane girls are coded as third wheels, never the main character, always breaking up a couple.
  12. https://www.instagram.com/p/DBR2xMuz0TK/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Are we supposed to know who this is?
  13. It is also a bit bizarre that of all the people who have been suspicious, Chad only called out F-Abby once Holly brought it up. To be fair, I guess JJ added some credence. But, when the woman's own mother has doubts, and you go all the way to Paris to marry her, until a 16-year-old notes their uncertainty, you have to question your judgement. BTW, I guess the architect of Horton Square drew inspo from Paris, because they are virtually indistinguishable. 😎😉
  14. Yes, but while the questions about Trump's cabinet not endorsing him was while executed (pardon the pun), the lack of follow up or fact checking, just allows him to spew lies. For example, he said that 90% of his staff endorsed him, when in fact only 4 out of 44 cabinet members from his time in office support him currently.
  15. It is ironic that Brett Baire says the VP Harris was trying to get a viral anti-Trump moment. Because why else would she go on Fox, except to get attention? There's absolutely nothing wrong with that because she is campaigning. If anything, it only speaks to the Fox bias, that VP Harris didn't expect to get an objective interview. So, he's just telling on himself. Also, no matter how inept Trump seemed, I am still not in favor of these town hall meetings with inept people asking questions that have nothing to do with the job of being president. Finally, I can't find the clip, but Kyle Clark from Colorado who did that amazing debate with Boebert, had a fantastic followup with a GOP congressional candidate. The candidate parroted the party line about abortion being up to the state. So, the journalist countered by asking what other civil rights would the congressmen be willing to put to the plurality? If the majority of Colorado voters wanted to limit accessible walkways to handicapped citizens, would that be OK? Kyle Clark is great, and I hope he gets a broader platform.
  16. OK, you know I hate guns, but at least this time they included the detail that a citizen of Salem didn't travel internationally while armed. Now, how Mark got to Paris so quickly after just running the DNA test for Steve a few hours earlier, is anyone's guess. And how many flights go from Salem to Paris, if Steve and Mark were on separate planes (this sounds like an algebra question)? Also, why is Sofia at work while Tate and Aaron are at school? Finally, I'm glad Steve wasn't shot twice in one year.
  17. I always associate these pastel second wedding gowns with soap operas, because IRL, I've never seen anyone wear one. but, then again, I've never seen anyone dress like this for a church wedding (that's a lot of cleavage).
  18. And, of course, Leo will demand that she's cast on Body & Soul Also, does this mean that neither Abby nor Catherina are buried in their graves?
  19. Despite the age gap, I hope they keep some interplay between Holly and JJ. It doesn't need to be romantic, but I feel like DAYS strength is writing for friendly relationships.
  20. @AbcNbc247 Sophia has referenced her parents being opinionated, so they could reject her dating a recent ex-con, with an ex-con father and current con mother. Tate's hardly a catch for most families with a teenaged girl.
  21. If I may be so bold, I still prefer my idea that Diana is the mother. And Clyde had information which could get her released from prison. Diana wouldn't have to stay around too long, and it would prop up Leo. But, it seemed more realistic than Clyde being able to hold someone prisoner (or needing cash) while he is in maximum prison. Also, holey retcon Batman, both Steve and John remember Catharina being dead when she was shot. And if she lived, Konstantin's revenge doesn't make a lot of sense.
  22. https://www.tvinsider.com/1157512/days-of-our-lives-abigail-deveraux-identity-cat-green-catherina-daughter-konstantin/ “Abigail’s” connection to Clyde Weston (James Read) has been established, and Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) have figured out she’s a fraud. Now, she’s poised to get busted, and on Monday, October 21, the truth about her true identity is revealed: She is Cat Green, daughter of a very much alive Catherina (who wasn’t killed by John Black years ago), and granddaughter of the late Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapelos). I wonder if the recent statements by Billy Flynn about the changing directions of this plot were due to the fact that Drake Hogestyn was unavailable to play out the rest of the story? Although knowing the history of the character, it probably means that we were spared yet another ret-con about John Black's past.
  23. Weren't Holly and Tracy both involved in those scenes with blond-Ethan?
  24. Oh, I thought they were going to go with the story that when Holly looked like Fallon Carrington she got abducted by the aliens and Sasha was the result. 😎
  25. One quibble from today: this is not Lost, so there's no need for a “not Penny's boat” moment. Unless Kayla's text plan charges by the word, she could've written, “reran the DNA, confirmed that is not Abby”, and sent a pic of the results. Brevity is as unnecessary as the number of trans-Atlantic phone calls between the Greene siblings. I swear at this point F-Abby has spoken to Mark more than Chad! Also, text messages still go in the deleted file on the iPhone, and how will she explain Chad's phone password is the one thing that she recalls? On a positive, Fiona finally got the monologue she deserved. I totally agree that Sophia is a better partner for Tate, although there is no conflict in the relationship, and we all know that cannot sustain on a soap. I don't get why Xander can't tell EJ about Rolf. Surely he would be empathic to the man who brought him back from the dead?
