  1. The funny thing is that she did fall into obscurity when her first sitcom ended. If not for Disney having her lend her voice to Finding Nemo, she would have never had any type of career resurgence (beyond standup obviously). There were some really rough years there for her after the first sitcom ended and before Nemo and the talk show.
  2. That's a great group, if only Alan can just take a back seat and let these people lead the conversations.
  3. Neither the Houston family nor Clive can be trusted with this. Robyn’s account is probably the most accurate depiction we’ll ever get. Yes, she cashed in on Whitney’s demise, but she handled her press tour with much more class and respect than the other cretins that were in Whitney’s life.
  4. It’s hard out there for any actress pushing 40, let alone 60 like Delaney is.
  5. I was mostly referring to the end this clip, when after reviewing the famous Kat/Zoe scene, Lacey and Jessie basically mention how good the writing used to be when they had people like Sarah Phelps and Tony Jordan, lol. It's like even the actors on this show know that they don't really have that caliber of writers anymore to salvage their characters.
  6. The actors in that story were kind of cringeworthy from what I’ve seen. I can’t believe they were given a story like that. Toby-Alexander Smith is cute though, I guess...
  7. The Secrets From the Square (even if Stacey Dooley was sometimes an annoying host) specials were probably the most interesting thing the show has produced in years, and obviously they had almost nothing to do with the current show. The final episode with Jessie Wallace and Lacey Turner was probably the best one and could have probably gone on for a good hour if needed. Lacey was more talkative and candid than I've ever seen her be, and Jessie was more reserved than I expected, lol. It's nice that they mentioned great writers from the past like Tony Jordan and Sarah Phelps, the caliber of whom the show so badly needs these days. I kind of got the feeling both women knew the writing on the show is not up to par anymore or what it was when their characters were at their height, but they remain loyal to it likely as a safety net.
  8. Soaps Past will have an interview with Jerry verDorn and Maureen Garrett on 9/14.
  9. I just have no words for this. Way too young. 😢
  10. Madonna and Missy Elliot are featured on Dua Lipa's Levitating remix. In fact, the remix is titled as 'The Blessed Madonna Remix.' Missy appears in the video, but Madonna doesn't (assuming because she was quarantining when it was shot and is still recovering from her foot/leg injuries).
  11. Didn’t Potter retire due to ill health? I know by the time he passed away, one of the press clippings said he had fought a long battle with cancer. It did seem strange after being EP of GL for years, P&G sent him back to AW and he only stayed for like a year.
  12. A lot of actors hated that commute and never got over it. Beverlee McKinsey talked quite a bit about hating that commute and being over it by the time she stopped playing Iris.
  13. I think Tina never got over the backlash Lillian received from fans after Maureen’s death. She’s been talking about it for years. Hence why she also always brings up that people seemed more forgiving of Ed than Lillian.
  14. That was a high-caliber Supporting Actress category that year, but really, Parker gave the performance of her career and her reel was a notch above everyone else. Kimberlin Brown may have had the most 'popular' story of the actresses in that category that year, but was really no match for what Parker managed to deliver.
  15. It would have been great to include Maureen Garrett on this one too as Holly was the other character that had an interesting dynamic with the Maureen character. But then, Tina would have been more confused on who she should be calling 'Maureen.' Also, Alan has no idea how to control a larger panel discussion, so probably for the better... But overall, this was one of the better chats as the women really lead the discussion more so than Alan.
  16. I was kinda surprised Alan let them get a little candid here - like when Tina asked Ellen Parker if JFP gave her a reason why they were going to kill off Maureen. Ellen of course said it was because of some focus group sh!t, the excuse we've heard over and over again.
  17. Michael Laibson talked about recasting Michelle when he joined the show. I think it was his decision. Also, Rachel’s father was Peter Miner, a longtime director at OLTL.
  18. July 1991 is correct, there was a discussion about it when those episodes were posted online originally.
