Flamingo Road
Rita Lakin's Flamingo Road is worth watching. I've only had time for an episode or two a week, but I am truly enjoying the show. Howard Duff, Stella Stevens, Mark Harmon, Morgan Fairchild...what more could a soap fan want? I'm only up to episode 4[just finished], but I didn't expect it to be this entertaining. There aren't more than 30 or so episodes, and I strongly recommend 80s primetime soap fans to give it a shot.

I have four actors playing Lionel Dalton over the years: Earle Hyman of the Cosby Show Roscoe Lee Browne of Soap[briefly] James Moody Palmer Deane I don't know who played Amy's ex husband. It was my freshman year at college in 89, and I had all afternoon classes my first trimester, so I had to rely on magazines to know what was going on. As for Jessica,TT was fantastic, and I was surprised she went back after the recast. She had some terrible years there though.

One thing that Marland did was build large families for his characters. Roy's family: Detective Roy Franklin...Count Stovall Leonard Franklin...Charles Dumas and Mel Winkler...father Sarah __Franklin...Novella Nelson...mother...later Judge Fitzwater on OLTL Leonard Franklin, Jr. ...Never Seen...shot by a cop...brother Nella Franklin...Tiffani Caesar,85-86...Kasi Lemmons 86-89...Victoria Rowell...88. I think she was a sub for a few weeks Amy___ Phillips Franklin... Karen Evans Kandel ...abused by her first husband Lloyd, she married Roy shortly before he left. Frank... Nella's boyfriend shot by Roy... Roy's father didn't speak to him because it reminded him of Junior. Not sure if he was shown or just talked about. Lloyd Phillips...Amy's abusive husband, almost killed her...played by?????????? The Griffen family was fairly large as well. Say what you want about Marland, one of my favorite writers, but he was colorblind whe it came to talent! I know they were mostly recurring, but the families fleshed out Roy and Jessica.

I think he was Marcello Salta when he "knocked up" " A common Prostitute like Katrina Karrr!"[Karen Wolek]... All kidding aside, I look forward to seeing the movie. I loved Stephen as Cass Winthrop. Wish he could pop up on Days as Julie's brother for a visit! Congratulations to them for their son joining the family business!

I know that Devlin is credited to the role, but I saw a scene with Edna and Hank at a bar somewhere on youtube last year, and I said to myself, that's the guy from Scrubs. The mannerisms were the same, and when he was on [if it is him, though I'm pretty sure it was] OLTL, in 1888 storyline, I said the same thing. Perhaps he was only in the role on AMC briefly before Devlin took over.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I've never watched RH of anywhere, but I've tuned in for Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson. Is it me or was everything in her scene already in the previews? Three episodes and only 5 minutes of Eileen was just not enough!

I was just watching bits and pieces of the Buchanon City story on Youtube. Under Buchanon City 1888, starting in part 7 actor Ken Jenkins of Scrubs and Cougar Town was appearing as Monroe McGillis, Mae McGillis Vasquez's father [and I believe later as Howard Mcgillis, Brenda's father]. I also saw him in an old All My Children as Hank Ferguson, Edna's future husband. Can anyone confirm this? I've wondered who played the character for many years. Thanks.

I guess we know that hate sex will cause... Anyway, Maggie's look of Auf Wiedersehen to Wet Blanket Werner made the episode!

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
I didn't read anything before I watched at 11, but as Talking Dead's credits were rolling and I saw Kinney in the "Dead Man's Seat", and I tried to convince myself I was wrong. I couldn't tell if Owen left with them. Did anyone notice? If that fool stayed there, he deserved to, because he was given the chance. Goodbye, Beth, even though I couldn't stand you at the Prison, you grew on me.....

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
The new trio[Abraham, Mullet and Rosita] do nothing for me. They've barely interacted with the cast[aside from Glen and Tara], and the episode with them was my least favorite this season. Tara could go or stay,as she is just there to me, but wouldn't be a huge loss. It's time for Glen and Maggie to let the others know it's time to rejoin the group and find her sister. As for newbie priest, he may just be a nice casualty. Owen on the other hand was [is] a great character. Maybe it's the actor, but I'd like to see him stick around. I hope the next half of the season has the group together and interacting. All of these separation stories spread the group too thin. I still don't understand why Tyreese didn't stay with Judith so Michonne could shine [unless there's a good reason the writers left her there].

Thanks in advance to anyone with info!

So now we know, Ralph has "issues". Poor Lila..... I liked the Matt/Maggie episode yesterday. It's a shame the Y&R writers didn't see this before doing that gawdawful Nick episode an the horrible Snortoria episode. Lakin sure knew how to write to her character's strengths.[Not to mention subtlety and nuance, two things that JM and AH are not good at.] JM's episode was a little better than AH's. Loved the look on Althea's face after Maggie filled her in on the deets of her day with Matt, and Karen's admission to him. Pritchett sure loved that pipe, didn't he? Nice to get a John Rice mention. I remember reading about Steve Aldrich having kids with a variety of women, but I never pictured him as the player that he was back in these days.[i had only seen him in the 78-82 time frame on and off.] Carolee Campbell's wacky bits brighten up every episode she appears in.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Yeah, so not a great show. I like Heigl[have since she was on Roswell], but Alfre Woodard's track record on series speaks for itself. I don't care too much about the story, but I'll stick it out until NBC eventually giives up. Plus, they over-hyped the premiere and it didn't end up like wanted it to.

Today's light hearted episode was a nice change.. Nobody angry, sad... Wet Blanket Werner nowhere in sight. Just great scenes with Matt, Maggie, Carolee, Nick and Althea. Great episode!
