Another generous soul (Who admits he isn't a soap fan mind you) uploaded a new 1988 episode on archive.org! I already downloaded and uploaded to YT! Give credit to @BoldRestlessfor uncovering this gem!

One thing that was sort of overlooked was Diane not getting freaked out when she ran into Mariah....thinking it was Cassie. Matt Hanvey pointed out on twitter though that Diane might have known because of GC Buzz having "Millions of viewers" either way It would have been nice if they had Diane be a little spooked at first and confusing Mariah by saying, "I thought you died".

LOL, It's kind of OTT that everyone would seem that interested in Traci's weight lost....given she looks really good, but Beth Maitland really does sell these scenes, yet I feel bad there was definitely a lot of personal stuff given to her with all this. Lauren I think actually developed into her looks more IMO about 5-6 years later...She's always been pretty, but I just think she looked better by the late 80's.

Ah, that's who Lauren's "friend" is in this clip? She reminds me of Kristian Alfonso a lot!

It seems like Bill Bell kind of revamped Angela into Lauren? I know they were two different people, but obviously TEB just knew how to ultimately amp up the bitch factor.....which I'm guessing wouldn't be the case with Angela. I'm curious about those first scenes too. I'm hoping for next year when it's TEB's 40th anniversary, we at least see a clip of her first scene like we did with Kate Linder's 40th....Unless the entire episode miraculously surfaces before then!

The current “Chancellor estate” is still ugly to me, even if they brought back the wall decor by the stairs…I’d happily take back the downsized version of the estate we got the end of MABs/beginning of JFPs tenures….

And Supposedly the very first 4th of July with Victor in 1980 he punched someone over having the same feelings as Charlie!

My sentiments exactly! and I'm sorry but the fact he pays more attention to the success the show has had abroad and their fans, VS hear in the states I think is one of the most problematic things this show has....I have this feeling they prefer the show the way it is and not what we know it can be. It's just a shame we are stuck with him till the bitter end. Y&R has been a shallow mess for years now, but at least we can still count on multiple stories being shown as bad as they've gotten.

Bill Bell I think was able to not let any network interference ruin any of his vision. I think the CBS/SONY people have been the real villains of everything wrong with the show for almost 20 years...even if there have been a lot of talentless hack writers and EP's the last few years. I'm curious of how you would describe Bradley Bell's "vision and style" for B&B considering he's been HW for almost 30 years and has made many foolish decisions and can't really sustain any long term stories for the last almost 20 years.

Thanks as always to our angels!! Love that we finally reached Sheila/Eric's marriage! I hope 1532 will be uploaded as well to see the full Lauren/Sheila wedding fight episode! I also want to see if that was Bill Bell's last HW credit before moving to Story Consultant. It actually looks like according to episode 1534 (OAD 5/5/93) that Jack Smith was Headwriter before Bradley took over full time later in the year? At least I noticed he's credited before Brad?

Ridge, Taylor and Thomas couldn't be more stupid....I can't wait to see this come back to haunt Taylor and also Thomas if it's revealed Sheila is the one who shot them.

The story should have definitely continued, as minus the boat explosion and scheming with Terrible Tom, I don't think Sheila was necessary written in a corner then.

I could see that! Honestly sometimes Finn seemed like a grown up Scotty if he had also been a doctor like his dad and grandpa, instead of a reporter.

That would be amazing!! She really needs to find a way, maybe get her own YT channel to post the episodes! that's basically 1977-1983 I believe?

I know it's unfortunate that so many 60's/70's episodes of OLTL, don't exist anymore (or so we are told), but I've always been a little surprise we don't have at least more late 70's/80's episodes. I mean If GH can have almost entire playlists of 1980-1983 for example, you would think OLTL and AMC would too, but like Y&R even those are just scattered dates.

Haha, Well I can totally buy Brenda's Jill just ignoring Nikki was ever her in-law. I wish we had more throwaway lines over the years though. We had both Jim Houghton and Wings Hauser back as Greg, and they completely glossed over his relationship and marriage to Nikki.

Thanks for clearing up the original date! We say it a lot, but I wish they'd just realize the audience gets that we've had several actors play the role.

I kind of took that line as Jill being snooty. Like Nikki was still taking off her clothes when she met Victor, and Jill was already working in an establish company like Jabot when she started seeing John.
