Ron still acts like he has no actual investment. Abby killed (Marci Miller so got the Guy Wilson treatment in terms of the character being expendable). Laura killed. I'd rather watch Laura rant and rave at Kate or Nancy. I digress ... No casting call at all? Of course not.

Oh there's an obnoxious difference IMO but I see what you're saying. He's basically playing AMC Pete as a HO with shades of boring Ben. It's such a waste of Alex Kiriakis as a character. Just let RSW go (hey CW with their 58 year old demo). He can get another gig. You have Joey, Andrew, Tripp, Paul, etc. just waiting in the wings. (Paul/Andrew would give hotSonny something to do while Will is MIA filming Hallmark movies; though Tinker can easily book roles ... they better use him) As someone who wanted Alex this is such a let down. The glasses and hair were NETWORK NOTES. Is NBC that high on him? Again, no offense to RSW; I can separate actor and character. And now Stephanie is going to be wasted on him. Sadly it feels Stephanie/Alex are easy Philip/Ciara 'replacements'. I suppose they could explain away Anjelica's heart attack as her faking it. We've had that before, right? I think I'm grasping at any hope to make him interesting or worth the airtime spent on him.

I missed all of July. Doesn't feel like it was even necessary to catch-up. The lack of Chase is glaring. Saw a post on Twitter he should be breaking backs all around and I agree. Liz is being wasted as usual. She had anxiety and a pill addiction? For a month? Cameron and Josslyn seem ... not long for this world. Dex is cute. I liked today's episode. Love Trina being cleared and the actress has chemistry with Spencer/Rory so it could be a good triangle. Seriously, Sonny and Nina just had their FIRST date? MacMullen has grown a lot as Willow (will she croak?). Britt/Terry sightings is nice. Wiley is SUCH a child of the corn, another post on social media I saw that I agree with. Not sure I see any chemistry between Drew/Carly but I still miss AJ. Not Jason. Not sorry about it. Carly feels so neutered. The show has like 6,000 castmembers .... I like nuJordan. Third time's the charm? Always nice to see Tristan Rogers and Charles Shaughnessy (Victor feels like Shane and Drew Donovan had a triplet).

Alex is better than Ben. I said it. Not sure what it means. Alex remains a throwaway. Especially when Justin is MIA and Anjelica is dead. DAYS misses the mark again. Chanel/Allie saved those scenes big time. Who asked for Kristen/Brady/Chloe again? Kristen seems so above both of them. Eileen's Kristen wouldn't subject herself to bothering. It was nice to see Paulina/Abe and Roman lasted the whole episode. Also nice to see Kate and Lucas. Certainly a better episode than yesterday, though not a high bar. Time to give Quan a shot as HW. Though I suppose he bears some blame for the state of the show being so ... meh.

Yeah, agreed. The direction is sorely lacking. Most of the cast is underused. Some small bright spots but any clear focus is missing. You have Nicole hobbling around spying on Jada/Eric. Alex leering at women (and I guess we get Stephanie wasted on him) and Maggie barely able to stand him. Paulina is wasted. Johnny/Ava/EJ could be a bright spot but after yesterday, EJ seems so oblivious ... None of this will draw eyes to the show on Peacock. I know BS does well but the actual show? I did miss a bit; WTF happened to Philip? Alex must have been the quick replacement. Stephanie/Philip/Gabi/Li/Stefan writes itself

lol you just know he'd end up there. Today was cringey as [!@#$%^&*]. Allie and Chanel have great chemistry though and Ava/Johnny will totally hit the sheets. The dialogue felt so forced. No offense to Trevor Donovan either but Alex reminds me of Jeremy. Cringe and a waste when they could do better. Although Donovan was far more appealing.

I wouldn't even call them storylines, really ... they need a clear focus and specific storylines like they once used to do. It's why Beyond Salem works, even if Chapter 2 wasn't everyone's cup of tea on here. Granted, that's just five episodes but it shows DAYS *is* capable of something better.

What an upgrade as Sonny Kiriakis. Seriously. Yum. I'm over the 'business stories' ... seriously over them. They should just be a backdrop. Y&R did them better back in their heyday. JER did ok with the Titan stuff back in the 90s. Jake/Ava wasn't horrible but it's blink and you miss it, like EJ/Belle (who was THIRSTY for his nether regions). Jake was a bootleg Stefan. It just didn't work. Was going to say good job on recasting Rolf but he was SO cartoonish. I miss William Utay. And Haiduk felt checked out. It's like they always want Eileen but it's like they have Stacy rush in to play her. Love you Haiduk but I prefer her Susan, like I always say LOL. Ava/EJ are probably next. Or we get EJ/Ava/Johnny which could be good if they invest in it. I like Carson Boatman ... not sorry about it Gwen feels like she's teetering on 'will she stay or will she go' territory. I'd play her with Gabi/Li. Stephanie should have had a past with Li.

No offense to RSW (Alex feels like a mix between AMC Pete and DAYS Ben) but yeah, they shouldn't have. Missed opportunity. Alex feels throwaway. Meanwhile, it was nice to see Eric and Belle sharing scenes. They moved way too fast with EJ/Belle, unless they knock her up. Ron loves his baby storylines. "They're easy". Anvil mighta been dropped with Belle all "no thanks to Jan's spawn being Shawn's" ... what goes around comes around ... I love Jada Hunter already. So glad she's Marcus Hunter's daughter. I like Jada/Eric. Nicole feels so bland with Rafe. I'd re-pair Kate/Rafe honestly but that ship long sailed. Enjoyed Chad/Thomas and CadyJennifer. "Hi cousin Shawn". Awww. Leo's still a trip. So annoyed they dumped Craig. I don't mind Nancy/Clyde (on paper they work, and it's great to see Patrika Darbo still being used and I love James Reade). She in her heyday was a conniving bitch, so it makes sense but they play them wrong (a running theme with the main show). I did miss a bit. Did Sami and Lucas get married OFF SCREEN? And they made a point to have Gabi say she was 9 years old. I was half expecting a teenage Arianna at this point but maybe they keep her where she should be age-wise. Like Will is basically the age he should be. Ugh at the Brady/Belle aging (much like Claire was aged too fast but ORK made it work) ... I've bitched a lot about it. It's also glaring because Brady/deadAbby should be in the same group and now with Alex, RSW is more a contemporary to Sonny than his older brother. Just yikes moves at times that jar the show. Easy mistakes they shouldn't make. Would it have killed them to just, sorry but, let RSW go? I'm sure B&B would hire him.

EPISODE 3 Figured Harris and Megan were working together. Agreed that Megan is such a refreshing villainess. Did we need Jason-Harris in the damn leather jacket too? All I see is Jason Morgan right now so I ugh a bit. Oh boy. Megan meeting with trashy Thomas who grabs his crotch. Lordy lordy lordy. Loved Hope having BOPE wedding flashbacks. I get Cin's involvement but I wouldn't have minded Doug and Julie being used too. Ciara definitely has more fire on Beyond Salem than the main show. Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso are SO checked in and it shows. Bo to Angela "love you" as she side-eyed him. LOL. I like the comedy between them but I get the heaven annoyance I've read in the thread. To each their own. I like Gabi and Li. Their inclusion is nice. Loved how Li was ready to pound her in the window. While the cast was full for BS2, Tony and Anna could have been involved in the Prism stuff as balance to Li/Gabi. Just saying. At least Li interacted with Wendy LOL. Loving Andrew and Paul. Not insane chemistry but really nice rapport. Colton Little is a great find. His mannerisms already remind me of Patsy Pease and Charles Shaughnessy. LOL at "Judge Welch"! Nice to see Andrew Masset and Peter Reckell sharing scenes. Enjoyed the Cruise of Deception flashbacks of Hope in the cage. Bo was SO gonna trash Rafe. Side-note, Harris and Hope are 1000% better than Rafe and Hope ever were. And that's saying something. Yikes. LOL. The main show could take notes and intersect scenes better to create a better flow ... that being said, Episode 3 is a little choppy. Oh, hey Tripp and Joey. Did the show forget about Kayla and Stephanie? Stephanie could of had a past with Li or something ...
