I like the idea of the ACA, but I'll admit I'm concerned about how this is going to play out. If the government hasn't even done enough planning to make the website work, I have to wonder about how the actual implementation of ACA is going to work. You have to figure that there has also been no or little planning for all the extra health care workers we are going to need. I suppose the Republicans would say that it will all come out in the wash. Increased demand will lead to increased supply, but I can't help but think we have gone about all of this in an assed backwards way. The government is mandating an increase in demand, but it's the private sector that is responsible for supply. I guess we can hope that there won't be a true increase in demand, since when someone had an urgent need for care they were getting it, just not using insurance, but I'm not entirely convinced. When I was in my 20's without insurance, I just didn't see anyone for preventative care. I'm glad other young or poor people will get that now, but I also wish that we had planned for it in advance by encouraging medical schools to train more primary care physicians and PA's and such. Since the government can barely manage to stay open, it's probably too much to hope for advanced planning for this type of policy. I do wonder if we are going to regret not going with a single payer system down the road though. I dismiss the idea that we should have stuck with the status quo out of hand. Having people use the ER as their first line of treatment was not working.

I think it's wise to get them comfortable with using weapons at an early age, even if they can't save themselves with the weapon right now. Might as well learn self defense from the cradle in this world.

Yes, that made me cry. She was trying so hard to hold Judith away from her, but Michonne couldn't deny the poor thing the comfort of being held even though it was breaking her heart to give it. Carol has really become hard in certain ways. She's completely right, I think, but it's just interesting to see how she's changed. I think when these characters hit the mental wall they either come back stronger or break completely.

I'm having this weird delayed reaction to GL's cancellation tonight. F*ck! I miss this show so much. It's my own fault for refusing to grieve when it ended. I'm like a loved one who refuse to go to the funeral and then freak out a few years later. I just can't accept that I'm never going to see these characters again.

I agree. I actually find the zombies kind of boring, except for scenes like the roof falling in where the characters I know are in direct jeopardy.

That's one thing that makes Carol interesting to me. She's become a very different person. I can't even imagine her standing back and letting her husband beat or bully her now. I thought for sure that she would crumble when Sophia died, but she took it better than Andrea who basically chose to die after her sister's death. Oh, and I'm on board with a Rick/Michonne pairing. I think they might be floating the possibility. Seeing how fans react. I love that she is on the hunt for Phillip. I just pray that when she finds him, she comes out on top.

Yeah. I very much doubt I would have the fortitude to survive the breakdown of society even without Walkers. I used to watch Revolution and I never thought I could make it in that world either. I can only imagine how bad women would have it, especially a pretty young thing like Beth or Maggie. Hell, no!

Yeah. I couldn't see leaving that woman to die as a mercy. It's not like she'd have any real idea that she was with her Walker husband anyway. Damn. I can't blame Rick either though. He was meat to be a good guy. Shane was right about that much. Having the Walkers fall from the roof really brought home the idea that you are never safe.

I had that same thought. Why not shoot out of mercy? Maybe it's just too hard on people to keep killing those they know. Didn't Rick leave that lady alive like she wanted? I wasn't watching carefully, since I found that scene particularly disturbing.

I agree this show could use a bigger budget. AMC financially screwed TWD and Breaking Bad for Mad Men, which I find laughable. Even more so when Kurt Sutter rants about it on Twitter. I actually enjoy Med Men, but it's so obvious that they backed the wrong horse financially. I'm guessing that HBO rethought their policy at some point, after turning down TWD. Just a guess.

When Michonne has her sword at the governor's throat, I just want to scream do it!! So much trouble could have been saved if she had run him through right then and there.

While never a Laurie fan I feel bad for her in all this. Just the fear that her child could turn during the birth. Good lord.

Yes, that was completely brutal. Hard to believe anyone could survive Rick's version of an amputation. Damn!

Hi Q! Yeah, I remember that scene with the prostitute, but I didn't pick up on it until other people mentioned it.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Bad choices and bad judgement are mistakes. That's not the same thing as an accident. Just because I have compassion for them doesn't mean I think they should get off scott free. As I said, they were greedy and now they have to pay for that. Almost every adult in a bad situation is there because of their own poor choices, but I can still sympathize with them as long as they haven't committed a violent crime. I'm an atheist, but I don't believe in judging others too harshly, especially since I certainly haven't lived a perfect life. At least they have family that can take care of their children. That's something.

I don't think she should get off, if the government proves their case, but I wouldn't want to see anyone do 50 years for these crimes. Anyone who makes a million dollars and evades their taxes deserves to do a little time. Then they need to get their asses back to work to pay what they owe plus all the penalties and fines. The part where they lied about their income to get a mortgage is interesting. Wasn't that part of the issue that fueled the housing crash? Lenders were encouraging people to do that kind of thing if I remember correctly. That doesn't make it ok, but I wonder how many people out there have done the same thing without being charged with a crime? I personally know at least one, but not on this level by any stretch and she did end up in foreclosure. So yeah, I feel a little compassion for Tre. People make mistakes sometimes and don't think about the consequences until it's too late. Still, to me, it's the sheer arrogance and greed that I can't get over. They obviously thought that they were above the law and could flaunt it on TV. They were wrong.

I'm shocked to see Tre plans to plead not guilty. Good luck with that. This is the kind of case the feds dream of. They don't have the resources to send every Applebee's server who fails to declare all of her tips to prison. They can send all of those people a nice little warning about what could happen when a celebrity evades their taxes and does a few months in the big house. I was thinking this could be a Lauryn Hill situation. Plead out and do a year or two, but if she doesn't plead out this could get ugly. I hope for her children's sake she doesn't get too much time.

I guess I shouldn't feel sympathy for these people, but I kind of do. This seems like the kind of crime that snowballs. The lies just keep getting bigger and bigger. Still, I just can't wrap my mind around committing crimes like this and then drawing attention to yourself with a TV show. It paints such a target on your back because of course the feds are going to want to make an example of him/them.

I'm surprised at some of these charges. How could they think they would get away with things like fake W2's?

Yeah, that's how I feel. I'm not going to be attending any protests in favor of polygamy, but I think people should be able to live that lifestyle if everyone involved is of legal age and consents. I very much doubt legalizing it would lead to a run on polygamy. What it might do is make if harder for the Warren Jeffs of the world to isolate women on those insane compounds. I can only see that as a good thing.
