  1. I agree about Lorie fitting right in at the ranch. If she had stayed on, I can picture a scene something like..... Lorie throws a surprise birthday party for Victor. Things get ugly when Lorie, Nikki and Katherine start to fight and starts slinging birthday cake in each others faces while Douglas half lit and amused looks on. Julia is there and tries to break things up and gets pulled into the brawl.
  2. I think the Bayou did last till 1983. Roy who worked there was a guest at Nikki's wedding in 1984. I agree about Peggy. I wish Bell had done more with her instead of letting her linger and disappear into oblivion. I don't think she made into to 1982.
  3. I found this summary of an episode on IMDB dated February 26, 1979. They list Pamela Peters as Peggy, but I read Patricia Everly was Peggy in 79. Casey remembers that her father molested her as a child. Leslie names her son Brooks Lucas Prentiss. Vanessa plans to travel to Switzerland but wants Lance to go so he will realise the baby's been born and that the baby is his, not Lucas'. Lorie continues to try and lure Lance to a warm climate vacation. Nikki and Casey's father is scheming for the $10,000 which Nikki inherited from her mother. Peggy loves her work at the newspaper. Jill admits to Derek she still loves him but plans to make her marriage to Stuart work.
  4. It was Paul who found her. I'm surprised after all the trauma of being raped, being in love with a married man, kidnapped by a cult, breaking off an engagement to Steve Williams, that Peggy did not become an alcoholic. That may have given some meaty storyline to Pamela Peters in 1980-82. Maybe with Peggy drinking she becomes a bit of a bad girl and goes out to the Bayou etc...
  5. I love all the old music cues too. It was what made Y&R . I remember a few years ago someone posted some Lorie edits, so the 1982 edits may come from that collection. Also we have to remember tapes were expensive in the early days like $ 15- 20. I wish someone had that 1981 scene I read in synopsis of Victor sniffing around Peggy Brooks. That sounded so freaking random.
  6. One funny thing about those 1982 clips is, who ever taped them edited out certain character/scenes. I noticed when we got a scene with Ashley, Jack, Patty etc... it would jump cut and on to the next scene. I'm a bit curious as to why Angela insisted on getting close to Traci. Was she going to be "Lauren" before she was let go and set her sights on Danny ? I saw the scene where she noticed Traci eating brownies and Tracy ran into the bathroom. In the synopsis is said " Angela shows Traci a" new way of dieting". Did Angela show her how to binge and purge ?
  7. I wonder if Jaime Lynn Bauer had stayed on, if Bell would have made Lorie and Victor the super couple instead of Victor/Nikki ? Bell loved Bauer and Braeden and it was probably excited he was pairing up his favorites onscreen. I wonder if Lucas had stayed if he could have been paired up with Nikki as they both pined for their true loves ? A Lucas/Julia pairing would have been good too.
  8. I was always curious as why Sean Garrison was in the part in that 1980 episode with Bond. Was he John Abbott # 1 before Brett Halsey or did he just sub for him ?
  9. Thanks for the info. It's interesting that Bond could have been Jill for a while till Brenda came back. I wonder if she fired her agent after that ? 1980-82 was a crazy time period. I noticed too that in the 70's most of the men had been dark haired, but when the early 80's arrived it was mostly blonde men Lance, Lucas, Jack, Andy, Paul, Kevin, Cash, Greg, etc...
  10. I was about to say the same thing about Traci. She was so shy and self conscious about her appearance. How did they write Angela out ? Liz Keifer said she had signed a contract with the show and she assumed she would be there for a several years, but then she realized the hard cold facts that a contract doesn't mean squat and they can opt out at anytime. I loved Lilibet Stern as Patty and remember being disappointed as a kid when she abruptly left and was replaced by Andrea Evans. Tracey Bregman said she originally was offered to the role of Patty when Lilibet decide to depart, but Bell created the part of Lauren for her. She said originally she was supposed to be a good friend to Tracy, but Bill Bell saw something she did in a scene and realized he wanted to make her the bitch. Bregman said she loved playing the role as the mean girl, but it hurt her to say awful mean things to Beth Maitland and fretted over it. Beth told her it was just acting and don't worry about. She and Beth are still close after all these years.
  11. I think Dorothy Green (Jennifer) also questioned why her character never interacted with Kay. When Bill Bell killed off Jennifer in 1977, Green was vocal in the press how Jennifer, Kay, Liz and Vanessa were written as long suffering by Bill Bell and was unhappy about it. She implied he did not know how to write for happy stories for older women. Kay did appear at the 1981 Gala Ball when Lorie stole Leslie's spotlight by wearing that dress slit to the crotch.
  12. The 1982 episodes are a hoot. I remembered Cash being stabbed and dying in the hospital scenes from when I was a kid ( I was 4 when they aired). That dinner party at Victor's with Lorie, Katherine, and Nikki being catty was hilarious. Lucas could have remained on the show and been a leading man. I did not realize the actress who played Karen passed away in 2018. She also played Bobby's secretary Connie on Dallas 1978-1981. Christopher Holder who played Kevin had a great voice. I assumed he came from a theater background. Nikki treated Kevin like crap.
  13. I think she had 2 roles prior to 1980. She was Ron Becker's mother circa 1976-1977 and the other role I'm not sure about.
  14. Pamela Peters seem to have had a lot of issues doing the show. I have read that Y&R was not too happy a workplace behind the scenes. I wonder if she and Anthony Herrera got along all that well ? He did say she freaked out and walked out the scene.
  15. She didn't even appear during the rape trial ? She must of had issues if she looked into the camera and stormed off during a live to tape scene. I bet Conboy was pissed about having to re-shoot that. I'm surprised she was asked back to the show in 1980 and again in 1984.
  16. Pamela Peters sounds like she did not want to be tied the daily grind of doing a soap and walked several times. If they had recast, I could see Judy Strangis in the role. Janice Lynde could have taken Leslie beyond 1982, but Victoria was dull in the role and was cut loose. Bill Bell insisted on keeping Chris & Snapper together and it limited their storyline potential. If they had split up, it would have given them story and the audience something to sink their teeth into. It also didn't help that Hasselhoff and Topping lacked the Espy & Stewart chemistry. Hasselhoff also took long periods off to chase after pilots determined to get off the show and have a prime time career.
  17. I wonder if Peggy could have gotten a job at Jabot ? She could have pined for Jack.
  18. I for one loved the 1973 episodes. A few people on other message boards and facebook were pissing and moaning about wanting the current show back on instead of sitting through reruns and characters they don't know or care about. I wish there was a streaming channel to watch Y&R from the beginning.
  19. Terry went to Santa Barbara after Y&R, then became frustrated there and went to ATWT and left that show when Douglas Marland passed. Jeanne Cooper said she adored Terry Lester, but he was a bit of a hot head and burned a lot of bridges. She said years later before he passed, Terry ran into the Bells while having dinner and he apologized for the way he acted out and they all made amends.
  20. I agree. They need to sit down with the original cast that is left and interview them all.
  21. I recently saw Jeanne on a 1971 episode of Hawaii Five-0 and she looked older than she was. When she started on Y&R in 1973 she had aged a bit more with her smoking and drinking catching up with her. Dorothy Green who played Jennifer was 8 years older, but Jeanne and she looked the same age.
  22. I'm surprised they went back to 1973. I had seen Episode # 1 many times before, but # 2 was pleasant surprise. It was strange hearing Liz encourage Snapper to dig himself out of the poor house by getting to know Chris. It was a bit out of character from the Liz we are use to seeing. The Brooks dinner scene was cute. The kitchen was fitting for an older house that had been updated for the 70's with it's harvest gold appliances and wallpaper. Jennifer looked really regal while "fixing supper" Peggy was funny and cute. I wish the show had done more with her in the later years. I hope they show more 70's classics.
  23. Soaps like Days and GH always used their rich histories to drive storylines from time to time, but GL and Y&R never dove into their histories prior to the 80's. Y&R pretty much ignores the 1970's except for the Jill/Kay feud. Most viewers of Y&R and GL mainly know stuff 1983 -forward.
