They could be in witness protection or something to explain their absence. Unfortunately KA never was able to create much chemistry with her non-Bo love interests, although I did think her and DC were cute until that was ruined.

GH still feels vaguely like GH to me so I agree. I just think WR would be a lot more wise with casting decisions and wouldn't keep RH and ME around as their 50th character. I can see her streamlining the cast and adding old faces people actually would want to see.

Hope has a lot more goodwill towards her character then Jen. But MR bolting because she couldn't handle her personal business left a bad taste in my mouth long before her more problematic behavior came to light. I think Hope probably took more hits as a character over the years than Jen though. Jen can stand better on her own as a character without Jack, but Hope seems to need Bo.

Maybe Sonny's history of mental illness? I guess that would be an explanation.

She gave John/Marlena another kid, correct? But one that was younger than Belle-because Stefano lol. I haven't read the second book, but I liked the first. I sort of liked how all this was occurring when Jarlena were off our screens for those few years. I liked Abby and Chelsea a lot in the book. More than on the show.

I think the Bay is over. I actually think WR might be game. She seems to love the genre and it would be easier than helming 2 shows like she did in the 90's. I think she would clear out a lot of dreck that FV seems so fond of.

Gotcha. I guess I don't know why KA was personally offended by the show wanting to rest the character. Hope NEEDED a rest. I guess it's a slap in the face, but they fired Dee, Drake, Stephen, MBE etc, so it could be worse. Idk, it sort of sounds like KA was being overdramatic, but if she wants to retire more power to her. She worked her entire adult life.

What is Riche doing now? She seems to have a fondness for the show and is doing interviews? Is anything stopping her from coming back?

Well it didn't help that Shawn D made her a grandma at like 42. She's a former ingenue, but I don't think Marlena suffered with grown children. But I guess Marlena was never really an ingenue. Unfortunately for KA the show wasted a lot of years on trying to push John/Hope on and off and then taking away any juicy story to make Bo the father of all her kids so she ended up being so tied to him. I don't think Hope's role was under-served. She was wedged into front burner storylines year after year that were awful. It's not like she didn't have the most guarantees on the cast.

I hate to marginalize an iconic character like Hope, but once Bo left she was basically useless. For someone that drove so much story, she really has a hard time standing on her own.

I don't see a point in recasting Hope. Aside from her being absent from major events because she can't catch a flight, I don't miss Hope at all. Hell, if Days told me she was in the other room I would be fine with it.

Jason was so [!@#$%^&*] weird with Jake. But man did that kid look like a mini-steve burton circa 2009. There is soooo much to unpack with Luke/Laura and I almost feel like the show can't because "LUKE/LAURA.

I am just not sure THIS is the couple to tell the story with. They already have a story that is interesting. I don't think I need more on this. This couple always seemed very much in love and attracted to one another. I literally have no problem with Craig being gay, but it actually needs to add up and thus far it hasn't. And also this kinda puts the show into criticism because Nancy is already an "unconventional" lead so of course hottie Craig would cheat on her.

I am not against Craig being gay. That's great, but it does undermine his devotion to Nancy which has never seemed to waiver. I just don't like Craig being gay for the sake of being gay because the actor is. Nancy/Craig were always an unconventional love story and this sort of demeans it. I am probably not conveying this right but it just seems lazy to do this now.

Was Luke running over Jake undone? I legit can't remember. I just feel like Lucky/Liz have been so marginalized to suit RH has chemistry with everyone so why not? propaganda. FV likes to marginalize all supercouples (see Sonny/Brenda) but Lucky just literally barely exists on this show now. Kids? Africa? No. Take care of your own kids Lucky....

Marci miller isn't the worst. I think Kate Mansi makes her look bad because her Abby is so much better. MM is just so boring.

I always thought they were close. But that's just my memory and it might be wrong. I never thought of it as a fatherly relationship, but Luke was protective over her. But he did run over her kid so I don't know where it stands currently. I feel like Liz/Lucky are glossed over a lot. The show actively tries to make us not remember them.

Interesting. ED never looked old enough to be James Scott's mom as Kristen or Susan. I am not sure why anyone would take credit for the racecar driving stuff. That was.......odd with multiple characters being into Nascar briefly lol. I think the most jarring part about Belle/Brady is that they jumped so much in age so quickly. I get Deidre/Drake were a bit older but they sort of stayed in that 40 ish age range for years. I think if they aged Belle/Brady to 10-12 years around the wedding then waited 4-6 months and made them teens it would have been okay, but Belle was played by like 5 year olds at the wedding then went to Kirsten Storms during Jarlena's honeymoon while John/Marlena had a TON of story. It's not like they needed an aged Belle to add to their full plate. Honestly, same with Shawn D. Bo/Hope had a ton going on as well, but he mostly aged in real time so it was okay. Also in theory Belle/Brady were only initially aged about 10 years. Recasts, Claire, and storyline aged them about another 10. I don't think it would be weird if both Shawn/Belle were approaching 40 at this point, but they are closer to 50 with Claire.
