  1. Whyyyy? I have been watching episodes consistently. Is there any reason why? Is it another whining YT channel? P&G has shown absolutely no interest so how could it possibly be them??
  2. Before I realized that B&B was/is a complete sh*tshow, I thought it would have been great if Colleen went to B&B as a recast Margo Linley (Zenk already has experience playing a designer) with the possibility of Margo re-joining Forrester Creations and renewing a friendship and possibly something more with Eric Forrester, throwing Eric's current relationship/marriage into chaos. Zenk could even originate a new character on Y&R and mix things up with Jack, Jill and Victor. There are many possibilities but it seems like daytime's budgets are slim now.
  3. Quite a bit of it is needless back and forth anyway. That guy just decided he'd tried to make actors feel like crap and it backfired.
  4. Stunt casting clearly began in the immediate aftermath of the OJ trial because until then, I'd never really heard of soaps just bringing in a character for a long run just for the sake of bringing the actor/actress on board without a plan for story. That's not the way it's supposed to work.
  5. If you follow the entire thread, you'll see that the guy (who seems fairly obnoxious) does directly address Colleen and the person who defends her with the 'bottom of the barrel' comment, which did single out soap actors. Michael Park jumps in at one point and claps back at the guy.
  6. "But some leaders in the Black community, grateful for a widespread discussion on race, worry that what should be a moment for racial justice in Portland could be squandered by violence." DHS is whining about how the mayor and governor don't want them there but with the militaristic tactics being used by the feds in unmarked vans, is it any wonder that anyone with a shred of regard for human life and dignity wouldn't want the feds to be involved? It was hard for me to even decipher what the message is in all the protests because the violence has completely taken over.
  7. Ahaha. Lucinda, instead of telling her daughter the truth lets her rush back into the middle of civil war strife. Definitely not mother of the year material, lol. Yeah, I watched more and figured out that it had to have been a return visit. Sierra was no longer masquerading as "Carlos" and by the way Craig is caressing her shoulder and back, clearly they've bonded.
  8. Bumping this to the next page, so people don't have to go digging to find it. The soap industry did these shows a huge disservice in how they promoted their shows. The 'cheese factor' which these production companies and networks never hesitated to exploit, unfortunately had a lasting impression on how these shows were perceived on the surface. And many casual observers were less inclined to look beyond the surface.
  9. I seem to recall a couple of school friends that were sprinkled in scenes here and there, particular scenes that occurred at Lily and Dusty's high school, even back when Lucy Deakins was in the role and that girl at the party may have been one of those characters, but I don't recall her having a significant role. I'm not sure but Harrison may have been the preppie, uppercrust guy, who had a reputation, as Dusty put it. It's hard to tell how significant these teens were, given the fact that there are so many missing episodes from 1985. Speaking of 1985, I'm a bit confused: in June of 1985, didn't Bob and Kim already get married in April? I seem to remember Craig and Sierra went to the wedding/reception together. Yet, they're in Montega in June 1985?? For what purpose? I remember they were in Montega in January 1985 and got separated, which is why Craig got false "intelligence" that Sierra was dead (which Steve's bio father Michael Christopher set up to trick the junta into giving up their search for Sierra). Did they return to Montega after Sierra arrived in Oakdale? I don't remember seeing the fellow passenger on the plane trip and his accent sounds a bit dodgy, at that. So @Broldenit sounds as if Robbie dances with Wendy. I think that's what I heard.
  10. From a writer's perspective, it just makes it ten times harder to distinguish a character on the strength of her own personality if she is coming in, right away, as part of a couple or is getting entré via another character, the way Tangie did with Josh. I am absolutely opposed to introducing a character in this manner because it rarely works, it usually flops. Like I said upthread, Tangie came onto the canvas as something of an appendage to Josh and her character was never fully developed, she was kind of just there. Nia Long could probably write a short story on how a character gets wasted on daytime. Kat went from vital to lacking vital signs on the show's canvas. During one of those reunion livestreams, Melissa Hayden very bluntly stated that Nia was unhappy on the show. My guess, is that this occurred around end of '93 into '94 when the character had zilch impact on the show. The easiest way to make use of Barbara Crampton's talents would have been to create an entirely new character for her. Maybe a distant Lewis kin or even a Reardon relative or hey, a Bauer if they felt so strongly about connecting her to a core family (which wouldn't be necessary, imo). BC had great chemistry with Vanessa, I wouldn't have minded seeing her a some Chamberlin relative.
  11. I do too. FWIW, DeSantis has been horrible at the job of governor, but we all know this.
  12. Completely off topic from what everyone is discussing but, I finally figured out why Tangie didn't really fit on the canvas. Marcy Walker, I think, tried her best with what she was given and it wasn't completely the writing. The role would have been better if cast by an actress who had not been so huge on another soap- either a relative newcomer, ideally an actress who previously had played a minor character(s) on a soap(s). Walker had been something of a phenom on SB, part of the show's supercouple, probably a challenge to integrate into something of a lesser role on a more ensemble-oriented, especially when the character came on as a bit of an appendage to a popular character (Josh). Perhaps if the character had entered the canvas on her own, in some way, things might have gone differently. Another idea, and this might seem controversial-- I do think Barbara Crampton and Vincent Irizarry had some chemistry...she just wasn't Mindy. She also had good chemistry with most of the Lewises (except for the weird/awkward energy her Mindy had with "Uncle Josh", who Crampton never referred to as Uncle Josh, the way Tesreau had in the past). Crampton wasn't the worst Mindy but I was always keenly aware that her portrayal was far away from that of Tesreau and Simms.
  13. In a sea of dishonesty, at least some politicians tell the truth, even when they'd have reason not to. And Gillum bares his soul here. If only other public figures that we've seen break down would submit to therapy.
  14. There also seems to be the attitude of "I did it first", therefore anyone coming in recently has to be using whoever did it first, kind of mindset. I don't think people like that believe it's possible that someone could wait years before posting videos but we've seen that it is possible for someone to uncover old VHS tapes that they didn't realize they'd had in their possession for decades, or even not have the time or technology until recently to convert old videos. It's just kind of silly to me to make assumptions about the motives of someone who posts their videos on a public platform, especially over some decades old videos that nobody is truly profiting from (unless I'm missing something).
  15. Interesting that many of Europe's former colonies seem to be dealing with this pandemic more effectively than Europe.
  16. As a resident of the New York metro area, I can say that the shootings at the home of Judge Salas has been big news since it happened. It will be interesting to see whether this is the case nationally where the news cycle tends to be much more frenetic. A very tragic situation and quite scary to think of. Isn't Deutche Bank also one of the two banks that recently were ordered to turn over Trump's financial records to the SDNY?
  17. @amybrickwallace Take your time, focus on your health and wellness. I wish you the best possible outcome.
  18. That's quite sad that the call for a well written, relevant story would be seen as a demand. I still maintain that writing shabbily for a character might as well be seen as giving her a shove out the door.
