  1. Being in the midst of watching B&B: From The Beginning, I'm seeing a number of minor characters portrayed by actors that make me wonder whatever happened to them? For instance: Stacey (the character and the actress' first name) from Griffey's diner, where Rocco Carnet and later, Donna Logan worked. Also, every Black character on early B&B, like -Valerie, the Art Director for Eye On Fashion magazine, played by Michelle Lamar Richards. -Fawn The Fit Model at Forrester Creations. *Apparently, I have found her, she is Stephanie Cumberland* https://www.presenting-you.com/about-stephanie-cumberland/ -There was another Black woman at FC, I think she may have been an Admin or Executive Assistant? I think the character might have been named Vivian? An actress name Angelique De Windt played Vivian, but I am not even sure this is the character who worked at Forrester. Apparently, De Windy runs a company called B. Loved Productions? I just saw this and am trying to read about what they do. https://www.blovedentertainment.com/education
  2. For the majority of her run, Dolan experienced a very different ATWT than Colin and HBS. Similar to how vastly different Amanda Seyfried views her experience as a young actress on ATWT from say, Martha Byrne or Julianne Moore. It was a different show. Ellen may have begun her run under a Marland pen, but things had already begun to change (as Laurence Caso was the Exec. Producer by then) and would drastically change by the mid 1990s. In the end, she spent many more years in a completely different environment from the one in the 1980s where Colin and HBS performed. Nothing against the movie, as I enjoyed it, but it was the aspect of asking more about her time on the movie than the reason why most people would tune in for the reunion livestream, because let's face it, no exclusive movie fans would tune into this YT livestream in the first place. By the way, how many views did this video get? I guess I could check myself.
  3. Tennis journalists like Ben need to keep on Tiley to get him to answer these questions and then sports journalists need to succeed the tennis journalists, and then the mainstream journalists after that. The people in charge of this sport are doing a grave disservice to the people who follow and support this sport. Speaking of which, are these folks greedy or what?!
  4. That goes to show how much I remember her- I don't even think about her anymore.
  5. ESPN seems to be making an especial effort in making it that much harder for fans to see and enjoy tennis. They get worse every year.
  6. Machine, Sinema, Tim Scott. Such horrible humans. Republicans, well, they're a given, but those Senators mentioned above pretend to be principled but they're not and now they can't hide it as they've been attempting to.
  7. Thanks @Faulkner. When Virgil Abloh passed away, it was an almost non-stop Twitter stream on the Vogue account. It will be interesting to see if Vogue will do more today and in the coming days to memorialize ALT.
  8. Speaking of voting rights law inaction and self-described moderates getting in the way, This was has been trending topic today-
  9. To read see ALT in his interviews about his memoirs in his final years, to see how forlorn he sometimes appeared, even amidst the bravado, it made for such a contrast of having seen him out and about in NYC over a dozen years ago. May he now find some rest. Has Vogue formed a response yet?
  10. Chris Bernau definitely did so much for that character- he was that good. When you see what came after, it was obvious how much of a factor Bernau had been in that character's success.
  11. He's no longer blogging but if you're on social media, maybe see if you can message Roger Newcomb. He used to run the We Love Soaps blog, which was a wonderful source of information. The blog isn't really active these days but it's still up and I believe Newcomb is on Twitter and likely Facebook, there's even a YouTube page. Good luck, in any case.
  12. Oh no! Keep the faith, this genre has some long living folks. (Although, sometimes I do fear that this pandemic could be having a deleterious impact on some, who might be have been more active in prepandemic times). Have you thought of reaching out to one of those soap history bloggers on social media? Sadly, the We Love Soaps blog seems all but completely inactive at this point but they may have a contact E-mail or something.
  13. Wow, that's a relief and what are the chances of two Ted Tinlings on EON?! Also, just realizing that auto correct is misspelling Tinling. Still, tennis and soap actor Ted Tinling did have a fascinating life. Postumously, He was discovered to have once been a spy! Hope someone can connect you to the alive actor Ted Tinling.
  14. Sorry to tell you this but Ted Tingling died years ago. Tingling was a well known designer of tennis dresses for some very esteemed tennis players, many, if not all were inducted into the International Tennis Hall Of Fame. Tingling himself was inducted into the International Tennis Hall Of Fame as a contributor. He had quite an interesting life. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Tinling
  15. I was shocked when I saw her in the draw. I thought she was still on her honeymoon. I wasn't expecting much, tbh. Raducanu decided to move her feet in this match.
  16. What could have been. Probably because by the time I began to watch GL for the first time, Hope Bauer had already left the canvas, I never thought about her coming back after Maureen's death but it would have made perfect sense for so many reasons! With Alan-Michael still on the canvas, Hope would have added a very interesting dynamic. I did get the sense that by the mid 90s that the show seemed anxious to move away from the classic soap matriarch, which was a big mistake for a show like GL.
  17. Even with all the noise and chaos of ever changing protocols, etc., this needs attention. The United States prison system continues to be a travesty.
  18. Glad that I never got onto his work. For years, I felt odd about not having seen Buffy (I had only seen the movie) and I never saw Firefly. I only have a marginal understanding of who he is (in my defense, I'm a theater person) but now I'm not sorry to be unfamiliar with him or his work. He sounds like genuine trash.
  19. I'm not sure how much ESPN is really willing to invest in tennis. Tennis Channel is no better, their produced pieces before matches still look low budget to me-- they need to zhuzh up their production values and they also seem to be doing their TC Plus as a kind of money grab. Tennis needs some new entity that can finance good seamless streaming of all matches. What the Challengers do, except for the major tournaments, like a Tennis-centric Netflix, of sorts, but focused on live as well as replay tennis matches. It's been decades since TC first aired and tennis viewing is still a jumble when it concerns the simple basics of where to watch a match. I wish they'd get it together. That's the way a lot of people do it nowadays. Subscribe, cancel, repeat down the road with the next major.
  20. I never had any intention of subscribing to ESPN+, I always believed it to be a bad idea and an obvious money grab. On any matches not covered on ESPN3 (which is most), I just use a VPN.
  21. This, coupled with the discovery of an elite school cartel engaging in price-fixing and it's a bad look for higher education.
  22. For those who may venture into this thread, curious as to what this ruckus is about, a primer.
  23. And the tournament begins...
  24. Boy, you weren't kidding! I don't have Amazon Prime, so I managed to see it through an invite via virtual screening and I literally dozed off! Linda Lavin as an older Madelyn Pugh was one of the highlights. She managed a wry wit, despite that Sorkinese dialogue jumble. J.K. Simmons and Nina Arianda were really good as William Crawley and Vivian Vance. The way the actors were able to display Vance and Frawley's dislike of each other, hidden under the guise of humor during that Table Read sequence was very clear and very good. After that, I literally struggled to stay awake. I'm not sure whether it was script, direction or actor's choice but Kidman's portrayal of Lucille Ball seemed wizened to the point of coldness. We get it, she was not just a comedienne but a businesswoman, but this Lucy lacked humor and warmth. Perhaps I missed it after he drifted off to sleep but I only saw one side to the passion between Ball and Arnaz, and that was the volatility. Sex scenes devoid of tenderness. Arguments. I kept contrasting those images in the home movies displayed in the documentary about Lucille Ball, of tender exchanges between Ball and Arnaz, as they played in the swimming pool with one of their grandchildren toward the end of Arnaz' life. Both had been long divorced to the other, married to others and the love between Ball and Arnaz was so still so apparent. I didn't see any of that in Being The Ricardos.
  25. It's more like NYC/NY state government that makes the determination, since different states have different protocols and rules- we see this in how mask mandates and vaccination rules for indoor dining, etc. are issued. Hey, good for Thanasi.
