ANOTHER WORLD 73 CORY CONFRONTS RACHEL CORY MANSION Rachel is in her bedroom on the phone, with an open suitcase on her bed. Rachel: Yes that means I’m going. Cory walks up to the bedroom unseen by Rachel. Rachel: If you see Cory and Elizabeth, don’t tell them about Carl. I need to see it for myself first. (beat) Thank you Frankie. Rachel hangs up and Cory flashes back to hearing Frankie tell Rachel that Carl is alive. Cory then knocks on the door. Cory: Hi mom. Rachel (startled): Cory how long have you been standing there? Cory: Not long. Going on a trip? Rachel: Yes I have to leave town for a few days. Jack: Not quite that bad. Toni: Did you hear from the St. Croix Police? Jack: That was them. Toni: Oh…what did they say? Jack: They got the autopsy report from Evan’s murder. Toni: I coulda told em he died from a gunshot wound. Jack: That’s the problem…he didn’t. Toni: He didn’t what? Jack: They said he died from asphyxiation. Toni: He must have choked on his own blood. Jack: A long mark was on his neck. Toni: Sounds like someone used a pipe of some sort to strangle him? ANOTHER WORLD 71 RACHEL CAN’T BELIEVE HER EARS CORY MANSION Frankie has just told Rachel about Carl. Rachel: No…that’s impossible! Frankie: Evan took me to see him. He was hooked up to tubes as if he was recovering. Rachel: I don’t believe this. For all we know we know it could all be part of Evan’s plan. He could be an impostor. Frankie flashes back to getting a sample from Carl. Frankie: That’s why I got a sample of his DNA after we all escaped the fire. I had to know if he was really my father like Evan said. Cory walks to the double doors of the living room from the foyer and decides to listen to Rachel and Frankie. Rachel: And you believe him? Frankie: I believed what I saw, and I believe the DNA test. That was Carl Hutchins I saw lying in that bed, and he’s my biological father. Rachel: He had a brain tumor that resurfaced, and I watched him die in my arms. He can’t still be alive. Donna: You kept my sister locked up at Pinehaven, drugged constantly, and now look at her, she’s got cancer. I hope you feel good about yourself Reginald. Donna walks off and Tyrone watches Donna. Reginald: I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. Vicky: Donna told us how you took Allen away from Nicole. You paid Bridget to take me away, and you paid Clayton Montgomery to take Allen away. Nicole hasn’t been right since then. Tyrone (to Marley): I’m gonna go get some coffee. Marley: I’d love some. Tyrone walks away, and now it’s Bridget’s turn. Bridget: You’re all wrong! She was locked up in a mental institution and all I could do was write her a few letters. Tyrone: You can’t blame yourself Donna. It’s not your fault. Donna: It IS my fault. I’m just as selfish as my father is. I should have been there for my sister. Tyrone embraces Donna as she cries, and Marley walks up and observes them. Grant: It went very well. I took care of everything. I’d like to focus on you now. Paulina: I’d like that. Kirkland and Charlie walk in. Kirkland notices Grant and Paulina together and quickly orders a table for the two of them. Charlie does not notice what Kirkland has noticed, and the two are seated. Charlie: I’m gonna go to the ladies’ room. Kirkland: Um sure. Kirkland watches Charlie walk to the ladies’ room, and Kirkland makes a beeline for Grant and Paulina’s table. Kirkland (sarcastically): Good evening dad, Paulina. He’s drawing you further into his web isn’t he? Grant: Kirkland… Kirkland: He’s going to hurt badly Paulina. I don’t know how else to warn you. ANOTHER WORLD EPISODE 68 Jack and Paulina reconnect CORY MANSION Cameron and Amanda are in their bedroom, and Amanda has just read the contents of an envelope that Rachel gave her. Amanda: I can’t believe this. Cameron: What is it? Amanda: My mom sold Cory Publishing to Reginald Love. Cameron: Wow. Is that what’s on the paper? Amanda: No. My lawyers are telling me that I have thirty days to contest the sale and keep it in the family. Cameron: That can be costly…and time consuming. Amanda: This is my chance to keep my father’s company in the family…where it belongs. I’m gonna go ask my mother about this. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rachel faces Allen in the living room as Amanda approaches the top of the stairs. Allen: Is she here? Rachel: Allen this is not a good time. She’s resting. Allen: I’ve been so worried about her. Please can I see her? Toni: Well Evan really is dead so he won’t be a problem for anyone else anymore. Mitch: He wanted to kill me because I turned on his mother. Felicia: Well that’s all in the past now. We are together, and I’m not losing my husband this time. Mitch: So…Toni what are you going to do? Toni: Work on some cases I guess. I mean I’m glad this is all over. Jack Snyder is new in town, but I had a personal stake in catching Evan. He killed one of our finest. Felicia: Joe Carlino. Has Paulina been informed about Evan killing Joe? Jack: I needed to inform you of something. Paulina: Of what? Jack: We’ve been investigating your husband’s murder. Paulina (anxiously): And? What happened? Jack: We found the killer. Paulina: Well where is he? Who was it? Jack: Evan Frame. Paulina: Oh my God…you can’t be serious! Jack: He was found dead in his hotel room. Seems like he caused quite a bit of havoc. Paulina: Why did he kill my husband? Jack: Apparently Joe and Cameron Sinclair were investigating him, and Joe was getting too close. Paulina: Close? To what? Jack what is it you’re not telling me? Jack: Evan shot Grant on Bay City Center’s grand opening. Paulina: Oh my God… Paulina flashes back to a conversation she and Joe had. Paulina: Why do you need to take this job? Joe: Cuz we need the money. They’re cutting back at the police station and the restaurant ain’t doin’ too good. Paulina: You know this job is too dangerous Joe and I don’t want you to take it! Paulina then comes back to the present. Paulina: That’s why he took the job as the security detail. He was really trying to bust someone. Why would Evan kill him though? Jack: We don’t really know everything behind that. We just know that he’s off the streets, and he won’t be hurting anyone else again. Paulina: Why did he shoot Grant? Jack: Sounds like a question you’re gonna have to ask him. I’m so sorry Paulina. Paulina: About what? Jack: About you losing your husband. Paulina: Wow you’re always showing compassion, just like you did back when Remy was born. Jack: I’m seeing that similar look of bewilderment on your face. Paulina: And you were there for me then, too. Jack: You were devastated to give Remy up for adoption. Paulina: I don’t think I…could’ve gotten through all of that without your support. Jack: Are you going to be okay? Paulina: I thought this would…help to give me closure about Joe’s death but, it just raises more questions. Why did Evan shoot Grant? Jack: It’s not gonna be an official police investigation, but if you need my help, I’m here. We’re just really tired and we’d like to get some rest. Rachel: Of course honey. I was so worried about you. Amanda: We survived it. Rachel: You didn’t return to the front of the church and I thought something happened to you. Amanda: Well it did. Evan kidnapped me. Rachel: Well I’ll let you two go up and rest, but this came for you while you were gone. John flashes back to telling Dr. Taylor that he didn’t want Sharlene to remember about Evan’s crimes. Iris (reading the article to herself): Heiress Alexandra Spaulding hospitalized with an apparent heart attack. She’s in critical condition. Nobody knows the cause of it. Wow I hope she’s okay. Iris gets a welcome instant message. Iris: D.J.? She begins a I.M. conversation with D.J. D.J.: Hey grandma. Iris: Hi Honey. How are you? D.J.: I’m fine. I would hit you on video chat but dad’s in the other room. Iris: Is school out yet? D.J.: Yep. I was hoping we could come to Bay City and hang out with you, but dad is being all mysterious about why we can’t. Iris: I would love to have you and your sister come visit. D.J.: Do you know why dad won’t let us see you? In the middle of Iris typing her reply, she gets a video chat message request…from her son, Dennis. Dennis (VO): Mom D.J. has chores that he has to do around the house. Iris: He wants to come see me this summer. Dennis: Well he’s not coming. Iris: Dennis please let me see my grandchildren. I haven’t seen them since… Dennis: Since you were in prison. I don’t want them associated with a criminal. Iris: They’re my grandkids. Please let me see them. Dennis: I don’t want them anywhere near you. Dennis ends the video chat session, and Iris is saddened, and as a tear rolls down her cheek, REginald hands her a tissue. Iris (looking up): You stay the hell away from me! Reginald: You look like you could use some cheering up. I’ve got good news for you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GRANT’S HOUSE Grant opens the door and sees Tyrone. Grant: I’ve been expecting you. Tyrone (walking in): Where have you been? Grant flashes back to the moment where he shot Evan Frame. Grant: I was simply ensuring your future as District Attorney. Tyrone: And how the hell are you gon’ do that? Grant: My methods are of no consequence to you. You’ll get what you want in the end. You’ll see. Tyrone gets a phone call on his cell phone, and he ignores the call… ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ALLEN’S HOTEL ROOM Allen is looking at his laptop. He has the flash drive that has pictures Tyrone and Donna in what looks like compromising positions. Allen (dialing a number on his cell phone): Wassup Brother. I hope you workin’ on my case, cuz remember, I can destroy your marriage. Someone knocks on the door, as Allen has left a message for Tyrone. He closes his laptop and answers the door, and gets a huge surprise…Marley. Allen: Who are you? Marley: Hi…you don’t…know me. I’m Marley Montgomery. May I come in? Allen: Why should I let you in here? Marley: Because we’re family. I looked at Priscilla as my mother, until I found out that Nicole was my real mother. Marley: Welcome to the Love family. We are a chaotic bunch. Allen: As I’ve learned. Marley: My mother told us the story. Allen: About Nicole? Marley: Yes. My Aunt Nicole was quite a character. We have our own story, too. My twin sister and I were separated at birth. Allen: Let me guess, Reginald did that, too. Marley: He had my mother believing that Victoria was her sister, and not her daughter. Allen looks nervously on as Marley walks toward his laptop. Allen: Grandfather is quite a character. Marley: I’ll say. You know I wish you had contacted us earlier. Allen: Better late than never right? Marley: Right. Well I’m gonna get going and uh…don’t be a stranger okay. I’d…like to get to know you better. Allen: Sure… Grant: I know that Allen Love is your brother, and you might want to help him. Tyrone: You know everything don’t you? Grant: You being District Attorney can help him beat the corporate espionage charges that he’s facing. Tyrone flashes back to Allen telling Tyrone about the pictures of him and Donna looking like they’re having an affair. Tyrone: You’re right. Just make sure you come through on your end of the bargain Grant. Grant: You have my word. Tyrone: I wonder how much that really means. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Iris: What would cheer me up is if you rot in hell. Reginald: Oh come on Iris. I think you would like to hear what I have to tell you. Iris: And what could that be? You reneged on your purchase of Cory Publishing! Buyer’s remorse. Reginald: Not quite. Iris: Why should I believe anything you have to say? Reginald: Because Evan’s dead. Iris: He’s what? Reginald: They found his body in his hotel room in St. Croix. You wouldn’t happen to have anything to do with it. Would you? Iris: Not out here. Reginald: They’re gonna start investigating. Iris: I didn’t kill Evan Frame. Reginald: Maybe not, but you DO know that his father is in a hospital down there, don’t you? Carl Hutchins is alive. Have you told Rachel? Iris: No…and you’re not either. Reginald: It’ll be just a matter of time when Carl returns to Bay City, to resume his life that he took from Mac. Iris: Damn him. He was better off dead, but Evan found a way to keep him alive.
