  1. Here's a look back and a look behind the scenes from the tenth anniversary of Emmerdale Farm in 1982.
  2. I'm a little bit afraid that all this is too focused on Harvey Weinstein, and that when all the initial outrage dies down the rest of the predators in Hollywood (and elsewhere) will remain in their positions of power and that things will go back to the way they were.
  3. They both look great, and their presence is sorely missed! I would love to see them back on the show. Such a shame that they killed of Joe. They could have kept him alive and have him pop up now and then. And Kathy could come back and rescue The Woolpack from the clutches of Charity and Chas.
  4. She really does look good. She looks just like when she left, 16 years ago!
  5. ^^ It really is something to think about!
  6. The Board of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has voted to expel Harvey Weinstein. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41623637
  7. I feel physically sick! Despicable doesn't even begin to describe how positively revolting this is.
  8. German soccer team Hertha Berlin copied the protests made by American athletes today before their match against Schalke 04 in the German Bundesliga, to show their support for "an open-minded world". http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/41623019
  9. The only one who is a total failure is Trump himself, and frankly that's being kind. I am constantly amazed that he has any supporters left. He's an unmitigated disaster, and clearly totally incompetent to be president as anyone with half a brain can see. I was stunned and fearful when I first heard that he somehow had been elected, but I could never ever dream that he would show himself to be so totally inept, petty and borderline insane that he is.
  10. My love and admiration for this woman just keeps increasing.
  11. Sadly, I'm not really shocked by all of this. I don't think anyone really could be, unless they're hopelessly naive. One thing that has shocked me though is the incredibly offensive remarks made by Donna Karan. Victim shaming of the highest degree. My jaw literally dropped when I read what she had said.
  12. Thank God for that!
  13. I think that what Moira is doing, letting Pete think that he is the father of her child without revealing that it might just as easily be Cain (and probably is, since this show loves the Dingles and kills of the Bartons), is not a very nice thing to do. I realize that it's probably, at least partly, my dislike for all things Dingle that makes me feel this way, but realizing that doesn't change how I feel. I hope they don't drag this out for too long. Just reveal that Cain is the father so Pete can grieve and move on. Lovely old episodes DRW50!
  14. No, I have been keeping up to date with the show only through reading recaps. But I can't say that I'm surprised. Hypocrisy has always been a family trait with the Dingles. ETA: I looked it up on YouTube, and all I can say is: Go Harriet!
  15. The Barton family has definitely claimed the runner-up spot for most tragedy-struck family, behind the Sugdens. The show has now killed of John, Holly, James and Finn, and most probably Emma as well. And yet the Dingles live on and prosper..... Yes, I know that. He just slipped in by accident. (Like he did in the river.... )
  16. To be completely fair there have been times when I have tolerated some of the Dingles. I even liked Chas once upon a time and she's still the only Dingle I would let stay. I could stand Marlon when he was a friend to Kathy and when he was involved with Tricia, and I could tolerate Lisa early on, before she became too Dingle-fied. Butch and Tina I mostly disliked, even loathed on occasion, but they had tolerable moments. Zak, Nellie, Sam, Cain, Charity, Debbie, Belle, Del, Shadrach, Aaron, Faith and the rest however could drop dead this instant and all I would feel is jubilation.
