  1. Oh yeah I totally remember them, just had a memory blip that forgot when certain stories happened and who was in them. Sarah Aldrich (I think) was the Victoria replacement and she was awful. I remember the day Heather came back and it was a relief. I think she was only gone six months
  2. It is so bizarre how memory works. I very much remember Sasha being killed, but I did not remember Sandra Nelson being in the role during that time. I thought this all happened with Michelle still there. I know Michelle left Feb 97 so my memory was right off on this one.
  3. The factory was shown back in the 70's when Liz worked there, around 1974. I'd say 1980 when Derek was scheming to take over with Judy, I am pretty sure they showed them at Chancellor After that I don't think so.
  4. Awesome, thanks for always being all over these ones. I always forget to check the archive
  5. Have we mentioned Ron Becker? He was pretty sadistic and unstable
  6. Hmmm I wouldn't if this list is in reference to Bill Bell. He didn't create Sharon as unstable and she wasn't while he was still in charge of the show
  7. That's Jill's mother Elizabeth. She worked on and off for Kay for about a decade
  8. The big reveal of Leslie to Lucas on the plane in Santa Leandro also sounds anti climactic, but even more so Lorie and Leslie. Lucas basically tells Lorie that he found Leslie and Lorie goes to Jonas' bar and Leslie doesn't know who she is. This all happened when John McCook had returned for a brief stint as Lance around May 1980. As far as I can tell there was no suspense. Maybe Lance knows about Leslie, but it must have been so unremarkable that synopsis doesn't even mention it. He comes back, he and Lorie reconnect, he heads back to Paris, Lorie realises Leslie has lost her memory and life goes on. All very underwhelming Personally I think Lucas shouldn't have seen Leslie until after he was shot, so he would be sure he saw her but everyone would assume he was hullacinating. Build the suspense and have Leslie, Lance and Lorie miss each other a few times before the big reveal. John McCook was back for a couple weeks. That could have been two very explosive weeks, but it all sounds like it fell flat
  9. Brenda Dickson - Although on her intial return to Y&R she was mostly the same with some over the top moments, as time went on she started overplaying more and more and by her last year it was ridiculous. The definition of playing to the cheap seats.
  10. The first episode of Roseanne to hit #1 was Dec 20, 1988 "Here's to Good Friends" with a 21.7 rating and 34% share
  11. I had always heard SSH didn't want the part, but was the first choice. Susan Flannery didn't want to do it either but eventually accepted. Yeah I agree. Everything she does feels right as Jill. She had the best and the correct interpretation of the character, even if Jess or Deb were better actors. When Brenda brought her A game, there was no one who could touch her in the part.
  12. Lol, I just went back to the July 03 1984 ep and she is wearing something similar or possibly the same dress again. I feel like wardrobe were rationing outfits and told Beth here is your summer dress. Yeah I get the feeling it was Y&R or unemployment at that point.
  13. I was always under the impression Bell brought her on to just give her something to do and her hope was always to return to Days. So he didn't make her too important on Y&R in case she got the call back. She was basically there from the time she left Days until she returned. It seemed more like a favour than anything else. Has SSH ever really talked about her time at Y&R? Honestly the more I see of Jill/John from 1984, the more I understand why so many viewers wanted Jill to take John to the cleaners in 1985/86. He neglected her and basically spent more time tending to Dina (who was still waivering between John and Eric) and Lindsay. Even Ashley told John he was ignoring his wife and needed to make a decision about his marriage. I wish Bell had Jill throw this stuff in John's face more when they were getting divorced.
  14. It is great to see this in english after over 30 years. Thank you
  15. Absolutely never Plus they hinted Kristen was basically a sex slave at the Harem. Not sure they ever got explicit with it though
  16. It should have happened. EJ was twisted enough to use Will to get back at Sami and Will was head strong enough to go against his mother. It would have been fire works. It didn't have to be a romance (maybe in Will's head) no need to make people love or ship this couple. It should have been a dark story. They were going there with Kristen at the time, dark I mean.
  17. Yeah it is a shame, and I agree. Had Purdee stayed he might have kept Nathan around and done better. Bell is on record as preferring to keep original actors. With only some minor exceptions (those that were maybe only in the role a few weeks or less) I feel the same was true with Leslie Brooks. She became nothing more than a reactionary character for Lorie, rather than a more fully fleshed out character. I even feel Deborah Adair's Jill was sidelined until Jill married John, but the character really became a centre piece again more so once Brenda came back. I liked Michelle in her first run, sometimes a bit over the top though. My memory is of multiple episodes of her standing in her apartment spouting exposition all the time. Sandra was far better though, but the show just wasn't as strong. I wish Sandra had stayed to be honest. I did like Michelle though and I didn't mind Phyllis and Jack. Though I was barely watching by that point.
  18. With Lorie, yes. She was very upset and even asked Stu to keep all the details under wraps (he was apparently going to publish a story about Phillip's death) to protect Jill. She mourned him but seemed to get over it quick.
  19. Yeah I am pretty sure Bruce Henderson was introduced in May/Jun 1973, so that timeline would work. Regina might have been set for the same time or there abouts, since the Bruce/Jen affair was established around that time and Regina would have fit in well to that storyline. The writers strike might have also derailed the plans too. Not sure. It is still so odd how Liz doesn't seem to have ever had anything to do with the Bruce/Jen affair, at least as far as I can tell. Seems right up her ally to give her bother an earful for breaking up a marriage. The whole paternity thing I get, since barely anyone knew about that, but by 1975 the affair was very much out in the open, yet no synopsis detail about Liz or the Foster's ever acknowledging it.
  20. Depends when they approached her. If the Henderson's were still part of the show when the offer was made, it could have been Regina Henderson. I do wonder what Bev would have been like on a Bell show. I don't think this fact was ever brought up before. Thank you, very interesting to wonder what might have been.
  21. Although I agree that Shari was miscast, she wasn't an awful actress. She just didn't fit the part. To give her some leway, Bell's writing, especially for the Abbott's was off during this time, I felt he had somehow lost his way with characters and plot. So Shari + not the best writing = a bad time I haven't re-checked but is Adam Lazarre White on this list? He was not a great Nathan recast. They hire a younger actor, then put a grey streak in his hair to make him more distinguished and give him a mid-life crises cheating storyline, which was so out of character. 1996 and 1997 most characters seemed off and I think most new characters or recasts were not great. Only a few stand out
  22. Robin Eisenman would make more sense than Melinda Fee. She at least was there for a few months, Melinda was there probably a couple of episodes at most. Though I didn't mind Robin. But yeah as you say both were temps I would also add the other Victoria recast from 1997. Sarah Aldrich??? I can't remember her name, though she was barely there it was an official recast and she was terrible. Thankfully Heather came back
  23. Even up to around Jan or Feb 98, Nikki and Victor were not on good terms. After Nikki learned Diane wanted a baby and Victor wasn't really interested. Nikki turned up at a party Diane and Victor had thrown (it was some big deal but I can't remember what it was) and announced she and Joshua were planning to start a family, sticking it to Diane and ruining her party. Victor was furious with her. The shooting happened only a few weeks later and Victor was suddenly in love with her again.
  24. I'm dubious that any actors from the show are in the loop. Unless production is already slated to stop at a certain point, I doubt any of the actors know what the future holds. I wouldn't be surprised if Days move is because they plan to drop the axe and try to push viewers to Beyond Salem and keep that going, and maybe try to drop some classics from the past as well. They could drop a years worth then expire those after several months and drop another years worth, if they can sort that rights and things out. This way they are keeping old school fans happy and Beyond Salem and annual Christmas movies being the consolation for current viewers of Days if it does get cancelled.
