  1. The guy Harriet was with had hair that reminded me of those 300 movies, which kind of annoyed me... I have the feeling they are doing this so that Leyla will sleep with Jai AGAIN. I hope not. I'm sick to death of that nonsense. Frankly, I like Megan, but I'm not entirely sure why she's still on the show. I'd love to see them do more with her, though. If only this could mean Lachlan was leaving. If only. Sadly I have a feeling of the three it will be Lawrence: http://metro.co.uk/2016/03/15/chrissie-lawrence-lachlan-surprise-home-farm-exit-in-store-for-emmerdale-5750120/ And it looks like the "Faith" really will be Chas and Cain's mother. She was a bit of a grasping mess the last time around. I have her episodes on my Youtube channel if anyone wants the links. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emmerdale/news/a786831/family-reunion-emmerdales-new-dingle-arrival-will-be-cain-and-chass-mum/ I've tried with her. I've tried and I've tried. She's a piece of sh!t, and she always gets babied and coddled. She called Alicia a paedo and she got a pat on the head for it. They have had multiple opportunities to let her grow up and they refuse. And diluting the Andy and Robert relationship, which should be complex, all for this tedious "poor me" club with Robert - it's garbage.
  2. Andy and Chrissie epitomize the worst of soaps - the astonishing laziness (of course they will hook up, because she was with his brother), and the refusal to allow characters to mature. Chrissie is a deluded, vile little princess, and the show never, ever addresses this. Instead she just gets enablers. Andy will now enable her because they can sit around all day talking about how terrible Robert is. That Robert, who is already floundering as a character as it is, has to be used to prop up their story is just sad. Speaking of sad, Charity seems to be written as the Janine Butcher of the dales. The main difference is most of the people Janine abused deserved what they got, as they were corrupt, self-righteous horrors. When Charity is with Emma or Ross, I feel the same way, but when she is pointlessly snide with people like David or when she plays games with Moira (who is a basically decent person), it makes her look petty.
  3. A lot of the popularity Jill had, especially in the first year, was down to Nancy Addison IMO, as she was one of the most exquisitely beautiful, talented soap actresses around. Her actions and the affair with Frank was just sleazy and the idea of her waiting around years for Frank #1 (who was just a dull middle aged looking man who could barely speak) was laughable. The idea that viewers were supposed to root for their eternal love and that he'd been manipulated into marriage by Delia because he had a hero complex and so on didn't make it any less skeevy. That's likely why they ramped up Delia's nastiness. I read an article once where Ilene Kristen said she had expected a lot more hate from viewers than she ended up getting. I think that's because most of the characters on the show who hated Delia were often insufferable (especially Faith and Mary).
  4. The thing with Claire is she never wanted to be a mother, so I didn't mind her not being able to be a mother to Michelle. It's just that the stories themselves weren't very good, and there was no contract with Maureen, which would have driven real drama. I wish they'd gone through with the plan to have Ellen Parker return as a Mo-lookalike. I liked Peter Simon, I thought he was a very thoughtful actor and at times capable of humor and warmth...but he wasn't able to be the head of a family. And that's what GL needed with the Bauers.

  6. I still wonder if something happened between the actor and the show offcamera, given that he vanished during the height of his storyline.
  7. You can see various short interview clips with Andrew Lincoln, Ross Marquand, Josh McDermitt, Michael Cudlitz and Greg Nicotero here: https://www.youtube.com/user/foxafrica125/videos
  8. Most of SNL's political "humor" is as stale and awkward as ever (and Hammond's Trump impression is not good at all), but this did make me laugh.
  9. No, his campaign for President - the silly pants-wetting, tiny meat stuff.
  10. Is that Mart Hulswit in this Prudential ad?
  11. I was disturbed by Hillary's praise for the Reagans and AIDS awareness, less so because I think she's some closet homophobe (I think she and Bill, like most mainstream Democrats, were fine with the idea of gay rights and fundraising dinners with A-list gays, but wary of the electoral cost and likely had no close intimate interaction with lgbtetc. people), but because it made me wonder if she's slipping a bit mentally from all the years of stress and battle. (some Sanders supporters claim this will enrage "millions" of gay Americans, but I think most have more important things to worry about, and the generation most likely to be hurt by it is also pragmatic enough to stay where they are) Anyway, these tweets are probably the best summary I've seen of the situation: http://www.vox.com/2016/3/12/11210044/clinton-reagan-hiv-aids-lgbt
  12. Looking back it's amazing they were pushed as much as they were, given that the only hype came for "movie star" (lol) Danny Dyer, and for Shirley, a character who has actually become quite a bit less popular due to her association with the family. I don't mind Lee, but he and most of the others could disappear tomorrow and I doubt viewers would even notice. This after two years of major storylines. I wish the new Johnny a lot of luck, especially given DTC's horrible writing for gay men.
  13. I've always liked Tamwar and I will be sad to see him go. He's the main one that held the Masoods together for me - and now they're all pretty much gone. I loved his relationship with Nancy. I never cared about her with the Carters, and claims that he dragged her down always made me laugh. Maddy and Himesh worked very well together. This looks like it's going to be a big year of change for EE. I just hope they make the right changes, as the show truly needs help. I hope we start hearing about some bottom-feeding Mitchell departures soon...
  14. Funny how he was only unhappy over that when it blew up in his face. The Breitbart implosion is very satisfying. They are a phony "conservative" organization, probably only a step above !@#$%^&*] Carlson's Daily Caller in terms of respect they have even on the far right. Breitbart himself was a pretty nasty man (just look up the Shirley Sherrod story) but I doubt the ship would have cracked up this much if he were still around. It shows the dilemma of these far right purity groups - are they superior to Trump (who is not a "real" conservative, after all), or beholden to his star power and iron fist?
  15. I wonder if at the time it was an ego clash thing, more than personal dislike, especially since, for a relative newcomer, Wyndham soon took over the show.
  16. There's a Blair one too, on the channel. They're all so generic and so so '90s...much like JFP in general in modern years.
  17. She does. I always enjoyed Ivana. By far the best part of that Jessica/Dylan stuff. It was a surprise to see just about everyone appear. And definitely a surprise about the John/Lynne thing. I don't remember that. They seemed to drop any story for John or Lynne fairly quickly. At first I thought the guy who played Norman was the one who played April's abusive husband. Victoria's porn peddler also has that look. I guess Bell stuck to types. By the time this issue went to press, Heidi Mark had already been replaced by Sharon Case. They said that after the first two firings, Sharon would now be on recurring.
  18. This whole boilerplate "now I'm living for me for the first time" song and dance they used to sell this story made no real sense when viewers had already seen her living for herself, not her father or children or husband, when she left Clint for Sloan. Did they even acknowledge this? And this is just eye roll city:
  19. I think Brown did tape some but realized quickly it was too much work for him.

  21. September 1994 Update
  22. Reading through a September 1994 Update and they say that both Jed Allan and Joe Gallison had been interested in the role of Alan Spaulding before it was cast with Ron Raines.
