Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Who decided to have tons of Lachlan (an unrepentant sexual abuser of multiple women) in the same episode as Gordon? Way to undercut any meaning the Gordon, Liv, or Aaron scenes were supposed to have. Double standards on such a high level render the story all but meaningless. It makes as much sense as having Aaron talk about being like Paddy to Liv when his relationship with Paddy has been badly damaged and is now barely shown.

Thanks! I'll go look them up soon! I didn't know that they had brought on more of Steve's family besides Nick and Frank. But wasn't Shannon brought in for Brian soon after Juliette? Juliette, then he was with Barbara, then Shannon. It looks like the uploader took those down. The channel you've posted from seems to upload some episodes others uploaded first so they may put them up. If not I'll try to find mine and reupload eventually.

Doctor Who
I thought I recognized Katharine Kelly. It will be great to see her again on a show I actually watch. The comments section rage that this is a ripoff of SJA amuses me. Those kids look old.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Andy Cohen doesn't even care about anti-gay comments. He's allowed these shows to run wild with homophobic digs, and even a gay man getting physically assaulted. He only cares if a woman he doesn't like makes the comment. He's a hypocrite and a fraud and a great example of how gay men in Hollywood turn on their own.

Rose is the only time I actually liked Byrne on the show, outside of a bit of Lily/Damien. Part of a year, maybe. There are a few 1984 episodes on another channel and she and Brian are in one - he's wearing a Hawaiian shirt and singing to her, or something. She was one of many interchangeable ingenues floating through ATWT during the early/mid-80s.

Which one? I know they denied rumors for years. I wish them luck. I loved Ygritte and Jon together.

Didn't he play a gay man onstage as well? Maybe he was just stiff as an actor.- One Life to Live Tribute Thread
Seeing Andrew in these just reminds me again of how rare it is on soaps in the last 20 years to have strong characters who are also decent, caring people - people who represent humanity...especially male characters. That soaps became so contemptuous of this type of character is one of the reasons for the genre's fade into irrelevance.- One Life to Live Tribute Thread
Two more episodes!- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I think by then, VH realized he wasn't going to get the type of material he might have wanted and was just going through the motions. That's my conjecture. He was excited in the beginning, and it showed, but after sticking around with nothing to do and then getting saddled with a very hollow love story and having to sell, sell, sell, it was pretty obvious that he was just over it. ESS was awesome, Reid was a great character (relatively speaking, at least - as great as he could have been on this particular show at that particular time). If that had been the story in 2007, then maybe things would have turned out a lot differently with Luke. I could see that, but I also think some actors just don't have heat. It was the same way with Martha Byrne, although she and Paolo had their moments. The Larry Lau/Luke story is one that would have worked for me because it would have been such a trainwreck, but otherwise...I don't know. Then again I may have said something totally different years ago. I haven't seen these episodes in such a long time. It's easy for me to be glib now. I do wish they'd brought in more gay characters for more stories.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Barring a recast I just don't think Luke would have been believable with anyone. Even his best love interest - Reid - had more chemistry with Don Hastings.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I agree with you about Silberman, PJ. Hansis is another one who always seemed asexual to me onscreen. If it had been me I would have paired him with Larry Lau - that would have been messy as hell and given real fireworks for Luke and the people in his life, especially Lucinda.- What Are You Listening To?

That's what they should have done, but that would have been human and not a cliche. I swear Phil is even out Victor-ing Victor Newman at this point.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
This episode reminded me why I just can't connect to Mick and Linda in spite of the many, many attempts to have us do so. With Mick in particular, when I see him in what are supposed to be tense dramatic moments (like Mick at the hospital tonight), I "see" Danny Dyer trying to act. I don't see a character. I go on and on about Phil, but I never "see" an actor when he's onscreen. Speaking of acting issues, I'm sorry, if not overly surprised, at how poor Jovian Wade is as Jordan. He was a lot better on Doctor Who. Admittedly they have more of an opportunity at better quality performances compared to to workhorse nature of a soap, but I still find his work to be distractingly bad. As I do Kim's Blanche Deveraux wardrobe.. . I still wonder if someone from on high called for a wholesale clearing up of what could have been a much longer story (Abi's "pregnancy," Ben's anger and rage at Phil). If I just watched today's episode, I would assume that Ben or Louise had horribly injured Phil, not the other way around. We are back in no time to a wide variety of mugs needing to prove to Phil how special and precious he is in their eyes. On paper I understand the idea of Ben and Louise vying over Phil, but I'm already tired of it after about one episode. Louise gets on my last nerve. I can't stand Tina, but by Tina standards I thought she was relatively sedate at Bex's concert. You'd think she flashed the crowd (which she probably would have with a few more beers) by some of the reactions. I had to laugh during Sharon and Phil's scene, because you could tell they likely had, "Sharon makes melodramatic pronouncement" in the script. Sharon had a melodramatic life and wore dramatic hair and clothes (sometimes), but she herself did not swim around in these uber-arch lines until recently. I could do without it. Speaking of bad lines, I laughed when Kathy talked with Buster about her "third husband." Would anyone talk like that in real life? Wouldn't she just say, "my last husband" or "Gavin"? Shirley was just blatantly flirting with Phil like old times. I can't say I'm surprised. I wouldn't mind Kathy and Buster, but we're already basically being told that she's hung up on Phil, so it looks like it will be yet another story that is about Phil and the many women who can't quit him. What a joy.- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
I think this is the stupidest story EVER. Her having a meltdown over smoking weed was hilarious and horrible at the same time. Cherylee Houston cannot act to save her life. I don't even smoke weed (and never have) but I can see how those who do enjoy be offended by it. It's like they are trying to demonize marijuana. It's odd, because didn't they originally have someone else (Kim Tate) giving her pot? Maybe they're trying to show there's a "good" and "bad" pot? I miss the days when Daryl Morton used to get high in the shed...- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
She isn't actually with Gary anymore, thankfully, although they still haven't found anyone good for him (I'd say he's waiting for the right man...) - One Life to Live Tribute Thread
