  1. I remember the stories about that Kern guy who produces CSI New Orleans (or did, anyway) and they were so unsettling, this normality of an atmosphere where a woman felt so mistreated that she was ultimately forced to leave. The last year has been an eye-opener for me in that I knew women were not represented and that onscreen portrayals for most TV and film remain negative for women, but I didn't realize just how much of a level of everyday harassment was still present. I'd like to believe this will start to change...but...
  2. Thanks. He does look good. He looks a bit like what Lance Bass would have looked like with better genetics and less plastic surgery.
  3. I had wondered if it was Sharon Gless. Gless had shows on CBS through 1992. I don't remember her working a lot on CBS post-Moonves taking over, aside from one appearance on Judging Amy (I may be wrong as I haven't checked her IMDB). The last C&L TV-movie aired in 1996, not long after Moonves took over CBS. I know she was on QAF, and Showtime has ties to CBS, but I'm not sure he has a role over Showtime. The part about how the men at 60 Minutes/CBS News treat women is also tough to read. It's unfortunate that this aspect of the article is mostly being forgotten by people who want to act like it's all a big campaign against Moonves.
  4. Is there a site for him?
  5. I wish Antoinette Byron had been there to troll them... Nothing against Robin Christopher, who was certainly a force (especially in her first run), but Carrie will always be my Skye. Thanks. No wonder I couldn't find anything of him under his old name.
  6. Thanks for helping me figure out some of these people. Vanita was so underused and mistreated by ABC Daytime. For all the talk of backstage tension and unhappiness during Gottlieb's era, it says a lot that people who were there for such a short speck of time in the long run of things, like Mia Korf and Susan Diol, still made appearances. Aside from the big hair (which is more dated than how she was styled in her Blair years), Mia looks the same. I wonder too, although he looks better than Crystal Hunt...
  7. Thanks. Wow. I wouldn't have guessed.
  8. Not yet. Thanks for reminding me.
  9. I should have known by the eyes. He does look good. He was growing into a handsome young man when he was fired (which I still think was stupid) and he's aged well. Who is the other woman? That isn't Jill Larson I assume.
  10. You get a brief comment from Donna Mills around 8:40, talking about Hands Across America.
  11. Thanks. Who is that beside Carrie Genzel? J Eddie Peck looks a bit sickly. I hope he's alright.
  12. Geiger looks like he'd be OK with a haircut. With it he looks a bit Manson-esque. I'm glad McKenna didn't touch his face as he still looks like his teen Joey self, yet also obviously quite older. What a gorgeous man he is. It's so good to see the three of them together. That was the last good Joey/Kevin/Jess trio.
  13. I think it's likely just part of the game for them - Stahl got her career going in this type of atmosphere for women, and Cooper likely knows that 60 Minutes is his only claim to serious news fame, and his only life raft outside of a CNN that is a clown car that can move on without him at any time. I've always thought he was phony, and this definitely doesn't change that for me. I agree about Farrow. The article is very meticulously written, as the most important/influential articles on the #MeToo movement have been. They make sure to try to present all sides and also to not editorialize or add trashy, confusing details. I can see why he cautioned people before the article came out, as a great deal of it was more about the culture of CBS News than Moonves himself. I've always thought Illeana Douglas was a talented, charismatic actress who never really got her due. It's unfortunate to think this may have helped kneecap her career. I guess I will have to wonder now if many of the actresses who never break through have been held back if they don't let men force them into a cattle call.
  14. The more things change... This has a part where the anchors ask viewers to write to their representatives about the crackdowns on freedom of the press. Good luck getting that on the air today.

  16. Ever since Moonves said that I've pretty much stopped the last few CBS shows I watched (aside from Big Brother, sometimes). The stock falling just on claims of an article that isn't even out yet either means that Ronan Farrow has gained the kind of credibility that 99% of today's journalists do not have, or that these claims truly were an open secret in the industry and everyone was just waiting.
  17. I'm trying to remember if there were claims months ago that something like this was coming out.
  18. She fits right into that family. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5999393/Kimberly-Guilfoyle-shared-male-genitalia-photos-workers-prior-Fox-news-exit.html I guess she always has. https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2004/10/31/17023321.php
  19. Yes. Other than Paul Marquess gutting Hollyoaks I think this is the most blatant producer change I've ever seen on a soap. I don't think she threw out episodes, the way Gloria Monty apparently did when she took over GH, but you can feel a change in everything almost overnight.
  20. The games have begun with questionable polls. I never, ever trust polls like these, as I think they are put out to make Democrats feel overconfident and to create "comeback" narratives for Republicans. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/07/26/polls-walker-wisconsin-michigan-minnesota-governors-714291
  21. People said those tax cuts would blow up the deficit and nobody listened. Nobody in power, anyway. That's the worst part of so much of the last 15-20 years - so many people have spoken up, and been ignored and shunned for it.
  22. Such a lovely wedding for Mark and Ellen - understated, but their chemistry and the history between them makes it special. This does feel like the end of their journey as characters. Any time I watch episodes from this period, Nina's story always feels so isolated, even though she still had a lot of family on the canvas. They did try to include her in the prison story but I don't really know if it worked. I love the way they use Erica in this episode - she is being Erica (pushing all her baggage with Natalie onto Silver without realizing just how fragile Silver is) but also has those sweet moments where she is genuinely happy for Mark. This is such a rare moment of getting to see Erica in family drama. I wish we'd gotten more of it. And that we'd gotten more of her with Silver. I also love the contrast between Natalie and Wilma - you see everything that made Natalie who she was, and what she was trying not to be. Wilma's fight with Erica was a hoot (and so Agnes Nixon - it reminds me of Opal's coarser moments). Sad what happened to the woman who played Wilma.
