  1. I've always kind of assumed he and Mia are willing to go along with that idea because they loathe Woody so much (with good reason). Some people think he tries to make himself look like Frank. I don't think that's the case, I think there's some resemblance, but there's also a resemblance to Woody. I do hope he gets something for this story. Before now I had just thought of him as yet another gadfly on a worthless cable channel, but he did a lot of hard work with this story, and stuck to it even when he and his family were dragged through the mud.
  2. It's the tail end of SOC's work, likely being rewritten. Some fans think that his plans may have been for Tom to be the father of the boy who knocked up Bernadette, as he mentioned his father was abusive.
  3. I read somewhere that he is no longer going to be involved with the films but will still make a profit from them, or the first one, and that she wants that cut off as well (for him to be bought out, I guess). I'm not sure if it's true or not.
  4. That's why FMB used to have him do singing and dancing, which was dropped after she left.
  5. I would think his disgusting defense of Roy Moore would chase sponsors away all on its own. In a just world, anyway. Speaking of that, the polls from Alabama look pretty close, although polls are usually very off these days so it doesn't mean anything. https://www.politico.com/story/2017/11/12/alabama-senate-moore-jones-244816
  6. I feel so embarrassed reading that. He sounds like Jessie on Saved by the Bell.
  7. I'm glad he's kept getting work since the show ended - he always had a lot of presence and life early on and I felt like it was snuffed out over time.
  8. With Richard and George Takei being accused after commenting on other abusers I wonder if this will cause other celebrities to be less supportive of these reveals. I hope not.
  9. Reading some of the comments at Deadline it sounds like this was an open secret for a good while. If it's true then it's a shame he was able to get away with it for so long. They also mentioned this guy. Have you heard of him? https://www.buzzfeed.com/jtes/dc-comics-editor-eddie-berganza-sexual-harassment?utm_term=.unajW1GAN#.smVM61LG9
  10. I have to laugh at Ivana Trump having zero interaction with anyone bar a Santa while Megan repeatedly tells us how beautiful and intelligent she is. Their throwing Megan into all these relationships and stories right before she died always confuses me.
  11. This is one of the reasons I couldn't get on the bandwagon at the start of the year with all the celebrities going on about Trump - there's a certain toxicity to the culture in Hollywood, especially as you go back years and years and years, with some of these men who are 70, 80 years old. I don't want to believe this stuff about Takei, or Richard Dreyfuss, or Jeffrey Tambour, but then I guess I'd be a hypocrite if I dismissed it while accepting claims about others. I guess it's a reminder of how little we truly know about these situations.
  12. Here it was: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/pullout-from-pacific-rim-trade-pact-leaves-us-on-sidelines/2017/11/09/0a00bd4a-c5b7-11e7-9922-4151f5ca6168_story.html?utm_term=.22ea18e5bfe5
  13. I think it was the TPP, although I can't find the article now...
  14. I read that they said they'd welcome us back. I imagine that would be at a high price. Not that I can blame them. How foolish we must look to people around the world when we aren't doing any trade deals with Asia yet he is going to Asian countries acting like Clark Grizwold.
  15. I still have memories burned into my brain of the days when GLAAD was more interested in material like Boat Trip than on real issues, so yes, I'm glad they have grown up. As much as the gay community/lgbt community is divided and dysfunctional, the last decade has brought so many changes that most never expected that I think some people have finally realized how much we have to lose. I'd love to say that supporting this evil man will cause the public to see the hypocrisy and cravenness of the GOP - I wish I could. I just don't believe the GOP will ever face any real voting retribution for their vile ways. Virginia proved me wrong so maybe other races will too. I saw that some "conservatives" were going around retweeting something saying that Moore just hurts children, while Democrats hurt everyone. (the word was a little cruder than "hurt" - it was "screw"). I wanted to vomit, because I realized that's where we are - people are openly admitting that they simply do not care about children being assaulted, as long as the end result aligns with their own goals. And these are the same people who go on and on and on about morality and family values. They are soulless monsters and they are the ruin of humanity.
  16. Reading that made me cry, for a variety of reasons. It's very brave of him to write that. Mark Green was a very important character to me, and that is only even more true now.
  17. I don't think the Alabama GOP would want it to happen anyway. They adore this man. Anyway, here's an interview with someone talking about why Moore will probably still win. The only part that annoys me is that at the end he needlessly adds that Democrats wouldn't want to give up a seat either. I hate the "both sides" [!@#$%^&*]. It never ever goes away. http://www.slate.com/g00/articles/news_and_politics/interrogation/2017/11/roy_moore_will_probably_win_alabama_s_senate_seat.html?i10c.encReferrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8%3D
  18. It's at 11 minutes. One of the dumbest things ever on this show, which is saying a lot. I also hated, hated, hated the stuff with Michelle and her stalker. I ranted about that elsewhere, but essentially the message of this is comedy material that tells us who gives a damn what a violent stalker will do to other women as long as you leave Michelle alone.
  19. Hollywood - still quiet and frightened. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2017/nov/10/harvey-weinstein-mood-in-hollywood-paranoia-who-is-next
  20. I've complained for years about the show seeing viewers as fools, but that took the cake.
  21. Marland would tend to put his weird/kooky stories into one character group - he did the same on GL with Nola and Quint. Around 1990 his writing style changed and that was phased out...which helped make the show feel much heavier/darker in tone for his last few years.
  22. I know some fans wanted the pairing - I wonder if was an age issue or something (didn't they write Valentin out?). And now Easy will fall in love with Ringo. It would seem very cliched if Ringo returned his feelings. So was she so unpopular they dumped her without a second thought, or is that pretty rare?
  23. And he's already saying he wasn't saying that. Sure. We're really getting the true feelings of the GOP now. And it doesn't matter. They will still keep on winning, because nobody gives a damn as long as they hate who they're supposed to hate.
  24. I remember people here would talk about what a difficult time his writers had. I didn't know it went that far...
