  1. The voters whose polling responses tend to drive the pre-primary race and get more access to debates or higher fundraising. He never really budged in those.
  2. I'm sorry Castro didn't have more chances, and I can see why it would annoy him, or his supporters, that another unviable candidate like Pete Buttigieg is still in and has done better in polls. But I've read articles for years about what a fantastic candidate he would be, how he would surely be President someday (or his brother). He and his brother had their share of powerful connections, and years and years of free media about how wonderful he was. I saw him on the debate stage giving voters the explicit choice to move on from Joe Biden, comments that got heavy media coverage and in some cases, heavy support. Voters had the chance to support him, they just chose not to do so. That's more of a chance than some in the race got.
  3. Castro's campaign and supporters seemed to spend more time telling other candidates and supporters how wrong they were than on ideas to help get Castro votes. There was also so much time spent with the media essentially telling voters they were bad or wrong if they didn't support him. He had some good ideas, but a campaign which revolves so much around social media wokeness and around posturing is never going to take flight.
  4. The New York Times just keeps sinking further through the floor.
  5. Thank you @YRfan23 . What a way to start 2020.
  6. Holy [!@#$%^&*] people are paid money to make this. 🤣 Just watch Laser Cats instead. The effects are better and, in spite of current EE having a production team who seem to cast based entirely on how much they want viewers to jerk off, the men are hotter.
  7. I don't see the big purpose for Kathy. The main difference in Kathy is that Gillian seems to have settled back into the role. Kate Oates doesn't care about characterization. She cares about press releases and self-promotion, and also a weird fetish involving "sexy" gangsters. And her little fan club give her praise for anything she says or does. I can't imagine any other producer not being criticized for a story that presents human trafficking as fun and good.
  8. Highest ratings since 2008. https://tvline.com/2019/12/30/snl-ratings-eddie-murphy-return-biggest-audience-since-2008/
  9. Great work. I don't remember ever liking Scott and Lauren as a couple.
  10. I know it's not a direct housewife, but Politico had a piece remembering Lee Radziwill. https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2019/12/29/lee-radziwill-the-fashion-icon-who-helped-define-a-first-lady-087329
  11. Not even remotely surprised.
  12. They were trying to get Tom to drop a case against them, as they were neo-Nazi gun-runners, or something. At one point there was a car bomb Kim was nearly killed by.
  13. The embarrassing part is they got one clip completely wrong. Sonni was certainly not the guy kissing her in that clip - that guy was her son Ryan's school friend, who made a move on her. (played by Lucien Laviscount, who has since gone on to reality TV and a failed Supernatural spinoff).
  14. Thanks. That's so lovely. I'm glad Linda is doing OK.
  15. With a name like that and her being recurring, her GL character may have been someone on a board, at the country club, or WSPR.
  16. Oh that breaks my heart. She was so wonderful as Addie. They never did anything with the story but her work when Addie was first put on new medication was especially good - she gave the material so many layers. And she always worked so well with KDP and Robin Strasser. The Dorian and Addie relationship was one which I never stopped wanting to see more of.
  17. I think Tom Selleck also had to grow into his looks and voice somewhat. There's a certain fey quality to him which probably made casting directors pause more in the '70s, when people were becoming more and more aware about sexual ambiguity and androgyny. Magnum was the perfect fit for all aspects of his personality and appearance.
  18. After breathless media hype for Kate Oates and how she was going to "save" Eastenders, and on the wonders of a Mitchell-led Christmas episode, the ratings were only marginally higher (with a much better lead-in) than last year's Kat-centric episode (Oates has tried her best to ignore Kat this whole year). Nelson's response to "Queen Kate," Jon Sen, and what's become of Eastenders.
  19. It was mentioned in the DAYS thread but I never thought about posting here, for some reason. Poor Judi and her husband. I saw that she tweeted yesterday thanking people for their prayers.
  20. Just as accurate today - probably more accurate than ever.
  21. Thanks. I thought that was her. Strange seeing her on here a year before she was cast on the show.
