  1. The next plans for Republicans stealing elections are in place, and as you can see, the media is already getting giddy over it.
  2. The whole thing with Michelle Yeoh posting and deleting an article that shaded Cate Blanchett is one of those curveballs that will probably be more memorable than the awards themselves.
  3. I find Shortland Street almost literally unwatchable since back from break, to the point where I have to pause multiple times to get through episodes. The show is 100% backbreakingly grim (aside from a weird quasi-comedy character who goes around harassing people about whether they are related to her - ship her off in a box and never mention her again) and is full of issue stories that I just don't know if I believe they are capable of handling. Even when the Brightshine story is finally over, there are so many clapped out caricatures like Dawn and miserable figures like Esther that I never need to see in storyline again.
  4. RH: Jill/Frank. Just endless toxicity and dishonesty in the writing from day 1 of the show, compounded that it took three Franks to find an actor who had chemistry with Nancy Addison. A slew of characters were thrown under the bus, and it was never worth the damage done. I remember Ilene Kristen saying people sympathized with Delia (in spite of the writing telling us that she was a child that Frank was somehow tricked into marrying compared to the worldly, noble Jill), which is likely why the show then went out of its way to trash anyone else (and Delia as well) in later breakups and makeups, to the point of having Seneca force alcohol on Jill and sexually assault her to try to conceive another child. I did root for Jill/Frank over Frank/Faith, but that's more because I hated her guts and wanted to see her humiliated and suffering.
  5. The first (and likely only) rat leaves the Daily Wire...oh not because they're hatemongers - they're all really nice people!!! - but because a few of them said the quiet part a teensy bit too loud.
  6. Thanks. That's lovely to hear, especially from Katy.
  7. Gay and trans people, although we won't be alone... (not that this has anything to do with your post, but there's a very noticeable movement on social media of late by gay and trans right-wingers to blame the lgbt community for what is happening to them and saying if only they had known their place, everything would be fine - similar to when this was astroturfing was done in 2003 and 2004 around the time of a nationwide hate and bashing campaign against gay people, that tells you something very bad is going to be happening soon, likely beyond just legislation)
  8. I say this too much, I know, but until he stops, frankly, lisping (and before anyone says that's homophobic, his party wants to put us in camps, so if I'm saying it, you don't want to know what they're saying), he's going to have real problems in a primary.
  9. I remember thinking GH looked generic and washed out even by the mid-late '90s. It often looked to me like someone had just put out a fire moments before filming began. I think Disney buying ABC ruined most of the look of the shows. I know OLTL has a much more distinctive look up to about 1994 or 1995 than it ever had afterward.
  10. I've stopped watching the show again. It's better than it was, but it still feels clumsily plot-driven and outside of some select moments, lacking in any real meaning or heart. I also don't care about most of the characters constantly being shoved at viewers.
  11. A good reminder of the true motivations of "progressive" figures like Ro Khanna and many other Bernie supporters who gave this man a huge platform over East Palestine. They're just not as honest as this headcase grifter is.
  12. @Vee Thanks for finding the bts footage of him on Twin Peaks. Very moving. I know he had a very troubled life, but I hope he is at peace.
  13. If we're going to keep getting so many ugly laws, can someone in California please pass a law saying no gay men can be on DAYS while Ron Carlivati is headwriter.
  14. This is the same piece of [!@#$%^&*] who skipped over to Lisa Murkowski to show her mean tweets.
  15. You could really see Guza's contempt for that character (and likely the women who had helped write the rape story) when he had Lucky tell Liz the only time she was of worth to him was when she was bleeding in the snow after being raped. I never really liked JJ Lucky, honestly, or the punishing, misogynist nostalgia that surrounded his take on the character, and that moment will always cement why.
  16. Glad to know this video is still around, as it makes that story much more interesting than it ever was, IIRC.
  17. There's a lot of confusion about whether Brenda Brock ever got any exit. I don't think Eli, the HIV-positive boy Carlotta adopted, did either.
  18. March 12, 1981. The full episode is on Youtube. There is the NBC bit at the start but I wonder if they got this from when AOL was running 80-81 AW (I see that Texas, which they also ran, is on afterward). Thanks for finding that.
  19. I'd say they did too. The end result is usually bringing in another kid, which rarely ends well. They should just end the show.
  20. I do think Sara was still needed on GL in the early to mid '80s because of continuity, as the show was full of recasts and new characters. Did anyone really care about Claire, or RVV Ed, etc. as hospital figures?
