  1. This is one of the most tone deaf, delusional statements I've seen from a soap exec, which is saying a lot. The part about him being a black man feels like something right wing bigots always claim liberals say. I'm dumbfounded.
  2. The wording of the Deadline article seems vague, but the Hollywood Reporter article talks more about her career and has some comments from her son. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/sharon-farrell-dead-its-alive-marlowe-reivers-1235551740/ I loved her work as Flo. Flo was such an old trope, but Sharon and Tricia Cast had wonderful chemistry as mother and daughter - very believable. Flo was also a character who allowed us to see different sides of Nina, which was something the character lost after she became so trapped in the misery with Ryan. I never had any idea at the time what a long career Farrell had had - she never seemed like she was slumming or out of her depth in soaps. We've lost so many soap names of late. I hope her passing was quick and peaceful.
  3. They should just have fun with it, and have someone put on a cod Cockney accent like Nancy Barrett. Of course that would probably just lead to Bonnie being replaced by her cousin Ronnie.
  4. Is Emily O'Brien so loved that she needs to play multiple roles, or do they just not want to pay for a new actress? It's like Dark Shadows if it sucked ass.
  5. Any soap remaining would be wise to want Debbi, although after that Y&R role she had I guess I should know better than to expect much.
  6. Looks like the speculation about this going on through January may end up being true. I sure hope not. WGA & AMPTP Can’t Agree To Resume Negotiations; Strike To Go On Indefinitely – Deadline
  7. Sarah is such a generic character that it's either an opportunity for an actress or just something that they will drown in. Madison has never worked for me, but I guess you never know.
  8. @Vee @marceline The same channel also has a look at the AMC board game (about 3 and a half minutes in).
  9. Thanks for everyone on social media who kept the pressure on, including you @JAS0N47 who has been such an advocate for the show over the years. I'm sorry it took THIS much from both fans and cast to get to where they now are, and I don't imagine it's going to be all that easy there even now, but still, considering how hard it was to even know if he would be let go, this is a positive moment and a sign someone there is listening when push comes to shove.
  10. I think the Laurel/Jai pairing is decent. Laurel has only really had chemistry with one partner her whole run on the show, and the same goes for Jai. It mostly depends on the storyline. I hated the story about Arthur bullying Jai's son, Archie, but the abortion story they had a few years ago was one of the strongest the show has had in recent years.
  11. Between encouraging murder of civil servants, and banning AP Psychology in high schools due to discussion of sexual orientation or gender identity, he's tripling down on catering solely to online hordes, similar to Bernie (and Trump's 2020 campaign). He also has an aide he made a show of "firing" now working for the state (this aide has ties to the likes of Andrew Tate). The sad thing is if he wasn't so uniquely repulsive, he would probably not be affected by any of this.
  12. Chris Murphy continues his journey toward dead end leftism. (Boone, by the way, is a very liberal place - I guess his people know the reaction he'd get in an area that is actually conservative)
  13. Marc Gilpin Dead: Young Actor on ‘Jaws 2’ Was 56 – The Hollywood Reporter A sad story, with years battling brain cancer, but I'm glad he had so much support from his family. His sister, Peri, is best known for Frasier. I'll probably remember him best for his small part in the star-packed Surviving, a very overwrought yet profoundly moving TV film about teenage suicide. At an hour and 25 minutes he gives a eulogy for the friend he'd idolized, and possibly, never really known at all. https://archive.org/details/surviving-a-family-in-crisis-1985
  14. Deadline was reporting this a few hours ago but this is the confirmation.
  15. Sheila Oliver, NJ lieutenant governor, dies suddenly (northjersey.com)
  16. I wouldn't be surprised, although a few other people on social media also suggested they had bad experiences. I never know how much is just typical of the industry and how much is on another level.
  17. Lizzo Sued For Sexual Harassment, Assault & Discrimination By Ex-Tour Dancers – Deadline
  18. If Biden wins, obviously he won't. If any other Republican gets the nomination, they will. If Trump wins, and can't pardon himself, I imagine his VP would do it.
  19. I have to admit at this point I just don't think anything is going to happen with any of this. Either he will be pardoned, or he will get a slap on the wrist. I wish I was more surprised that the more charges he faces, the better his polling gets.
  20. I know this was posted before, but as it's been up for years and there are new users here now, I thought it was worth posting again. It's a series of scenes that Tom O'Rourke (Justin Marler) used as a presentation tape. Most of this is of his last few years on the show (most of the clips aren't available elsewhere), although there's one clip of Justin with that Brandy character (JoBeth Williams).
