  1. I never thought they were either. I suppose they just wanted to have the moment after managing to get Peter Simon back and Maeve back briefly. I think Maureen's death and the affair were always going to be obstacles in a friendship, one they never had anyway. I was so surprised when I learned they had dated and IIRC were even engaged. Never mentioned in later years.
  2. I wonder if they will even interact.
  3. No problem. So much Madonna content is out there for viewing but when I stumbled upon this, I couldn't find it elsewhere. This little special is mostly another reminder of how much she dominated pop culture, and luckily it never gets nasty the way some of these things could.
  4. Various writers and journalists discuss Madonna's move to the UK and her recent marriage.
  5. Shane Isheev leaving also makes me wonder.
  6. Anna is going to end up like Alice during the tears/flood scene.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if her return is to help push Trina further off the canvas, and facilitate a Spencer recast once Trina is gone. And probably to cause some kind of drama for Anna/Valentin true love. Charlotte will probably try to kill her.
  8. Jim/Gwyn would have been a very interesting pairing. He was so strait-laced. There is also the whole corrupting a priest angle. Fights with Shana. And wasn't her father a minister?
  9. Adam had a crush on her. They did seem to be pushing for more (I imagine it would have been a quad) if he had stayed. I assume he, Cheryl and Scott were all let go - their departures all felt rushed. Lisa probably should have left after the end of the Sin Stalker story.
  10. Thanks. I'm not surprised. For all the show seemed to think of Lisa and Jamie (just look at their heavy use in the opening credits), they are a very dull, forgettable couple. I don't even know what story you could have for them beyond my wishing Lisa had learned about the time her aunt had tried to get into the hottest Jamie's pants.
  11. Wasn't Joanna Going already leaving by the point where Jamie and Vicky became a proper couple? I don't think Swajeski had any real interest in Vicky and Jamie as a couple either. Vicky had no true romance under her pen until Ryan, although I did enjoy her [!@#$%^&*] buddy relationship with Evan. I do wonder if they were considering recasting Lisa, as the whole daughter retcon with Felicia happened not long after she left, and they also had some Matt/Lisa interaction.
  12. That shocked sitcom mother face on Reva makes me laugh. In the old days she would have given her a backhand. I don't know what it says about my tastes that this version of Dinah is the only time I enjoyed Wendy Moniz's version of the character. (Dinah really was nothing special as a character until Gina Tognoni anyway - she was born to play that part, and I say that as someone who spent years trashing her OLTL runs)
  13. The only time I liked her was when they paired her with Jake, as he frequently called her out on her [!@#$%^&*]. She was just so unpleasant, entitled, and bigoted, which we were meant to find endearing because she was a poor little rich girl. I can't act like they were wrong, as she had many fans, but this type of character being shoved to the front of the show is another reminder of how much AMC had lost its moral core in that final decade. Budig is also a very cold/flat actress, which is one of the reasons she never found success elsewhere.
  14. I definitely agree they were more popular than those two pairings...I just wasn't sure either of those pairings were meant to be rooting couples. It might be the extremely cheap sendoff they got (which got SOD's worst of the year, IIRC) that makes me think they weren't.
  15. I'd be surprised if all these people are leaving. I know they will have to make cuts and Shorty is brutal (see poor TK) but I would imagine some are returning. Honestly I hope Nicole, Harper and Drew are gone for good. They were exhausting this year and often a drain on the show - if not for the guest spots from Boyd and the times characters like Selina and Nazar got focus, it would have been unwatchable.
  16. I suppose some could say the same of the '70s (especially before the Amos and Wilks double act began) but the show had much more depth and the characters felt like real people. I haven't been going into the '70s watch but I've appreciated seeing your posts. And yes, no soap would allow such a long, unbroken scene now. Faith was a key part of Emmerdale for many, many years. Even now they feint in that direction, but I can't imagine anyone finding any spiritual comfort in Harriet (RIP) or Charles.
  17. That was cute. Nice to see Amelia Heinle with a personality. And I suppose Finola sort of counts as a Y&R cast member. For all the hype over how edgy Chappell Roan is, her true audience inevitably will be what we're seeing here.
  18. The show had more of a sense of fun and the turnover wasn't as noticeable. These days the show makes GH almost seem good. I haven't seen enough of her story to hit a fatigue level but I like her too. She isn't the most charismatic character, but she has a certain grounded quality and quiet strength that I can appreciate on a soap. The actress is decent too. I just hope they don't pair her with Jason for real as I imagine the Liz fans and what's left of Carly or Sam fans will eat her up. That and any pairing with Jason is a dead end.
  19. I imagine Jenny and Paul had to have more fans than most GH couples now because the ratings were much higher at the time, but I do wonder if they ever had any real following. I've never heard of any. I just wish those weren't the only options. GH lost its way such a long time ago. I'm glad the show is still on the air, and it still has more viable characters, somehow, than Y&R or B&B do these days, but it's been different shades of a ghost ship for decades now.
  20. Thank you for reminding us. I'm glad they seemed to remember more people this year, even if there were a few omissions (I was going to say Bill Hayes, although someone might argue he wasn't in enough films). The concept really gets going in the second half. I can't believe how much incredible and above all else unique talent we lost this year.
  21. As the Hart to Hart thread is locked: Stefanie just steamrolling over the anchors amuses me.
  22. If she is the one who wants us to be moved by Joss/Jason and sees his relationships with his kids as a threat, good luck with that.
  23. I wonder how much of the in love turn is from Chad Duell leaving. And Nina will go under the bus soon enough, I'm sure. I just watched a clip of Liz telling Cam that Franco is dead (which seems to have been filmed through a potato) - what an overwrought, trite mess. I will give Lipton credit for going all out, even if I thought he was going to burst out laughing (or maybe that was just me). The show barely even tried to do anything with Jake and Jason this year before shipping him off. What an utterly pointless return this has been. There is something amusing about starting the year with a publicity photo of Carly, Jason and Sam and ending it with Jason being passed down to Sasha for lack of any other ideas.
  24. @Maxim Thanks for sharing. Very disturbing.
  25. Thank you for transcribing all this tea and tagging me @NothinButAttitude . She certainly didn't hold back. I was not even really watching AMC at that time but even then, I knew her treatment was incredibly shabby. I'm glad she blocked Frons.
