  1. More of the Old West 1888/1988 saga. I guess this still wasn't strike material, as the writers names are in the credits, but a lot of it seems like filler. But it's good filler - the scenes with Blaize and Michael Jeter in the mental hospital are wonderful. It's nice to see more of Melinda and dealing with her mental illness, although something about her just always seems poorly utilized. I also find the setup with Rob, John, Cassie, and Melinda to be a little bizarre. Did Rob and Melinda ever get together? If so that would complete the circle.
  2. How many times was Jessica raped? I can't remember. I just remember that at some points later on it seemed like every younger female cast member had been raped a half-dozen times.
  3. I have that somewhere, or used to. It's sad seeing that with Zaslow and Garrett. As awful as Rauch's era was for Holly I do wonder what his version of Roger/Holly would have been like.
  4. If any of you were fans of Scott Bailey/Sandy, and you get Cinemax, then you may want to look for the "Femme Fatales" episode he was in a month or two ago. It's rerun a fair amount. It's not anything explicit but you can see more than you did of him on GL (and some use of a stethoscope that would probably shock Rick Bauer). The guy who played Manny on GH is also in it.
  5. Weird seeing Kay Campbell there. I didn't notice the resemblance between Donald May and John Larkin until now. I wonder if that was intentional in casting.
  6. Grant sometimes reminds me of a vampire.
  7. I think so, yes. I think Nancy had a crush on Jake.
  8. That must have been one of the last photos Jacquie took in her first AW run (the one with Sally).
  9. That's great. Anna is so pretty there.

  11. I think Lemay consulted at ATWT and AW during the mid-90's. I remember him complaining about ATWT having 3 mega-millionaires with 3 private jets (Cal, Damian, Lucinda). I saw his point, but then, he really helped popularize that in P&G soaps (ATWT and GL had had "mogul" characters, but they were always outsiders, like Stanley Norris or that guy Jerry Lacy played on ATWT; Mac Cory was the first mega millionaire mogul who became the heart of a P&G soap). What did you think of Vince? I've seen little of him. Just mostly supporting stuff, and his girlfriend, the waitress, when John Randolph died and Marianne was at the diner. I'm not sure how Lemay would have worked out in the late 80's AW long term but his 1988 material was damn good.
  12. Was she as flat as Grace/Faith as she was panned for being? I remember some people were confused as to why they had her play dual roles when the performances were exactly the same.
  13. I think OLTL was always color, it's just the only copy available is black and white.
  14. I would say it may have been because AW had never developed a popular younger generation the way GL did. Richard Bekins and Chris Rich were clearly popular, and Laura Malone too, but they didn't ever take off the way Beth/Rick/Mindy/Phillip/Lujack did, or, for an older group of characters, Alexandra and the Lewis family. That gave GL more cover with viewers, whereas AW just had, from about 79-83 or so, a never-ending sea of new families and characters, most of whom nobody cared about.
  15. Our "liberal" media in action again. Mark Halperin, never known for having a very high opinion of Obama, decided to spew profanity about him on MSNBC. He has been suspended. Let's see how long it will take for him to become a martyr/hero/victim of those censor-happy bleeding heart PC-loving liberals. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0611/58098.html
  16. The inside article is just a basic recap about Maeve returning to Edge in 1976, but I decided to post the cover as I liked it.
  17. I typed these two pages up a few hours ago right before SON went down. They didn't go through, clearly. So here are the scans.
  18. I'm glad Jean left on her terms, and had a happy life. I would have felt bad if she'd been written out because the show wanted to move on from Meg. In the long run she probably did them a favor, as resting the character of Meg meant she had a dynamic return in the early 70's. Do you know if they tried to ask her back when they thought of bringing Meg back in the early 60's, or why they chose not to bring Meg back?
  19. December 1965 TV Picture Life.
  20. Thanks for reminding me and posting that.
  21. I guess they're supposed to be stock poses used for casting or whatever but it is kind of jarring. She also reminds me a bit of the girl in Poltergeist. I think I put another photo of her, with the cast, a few pages back. I wish we could see any of Meredith (although I think there might be one episode with her on Youtube; can't remember).
  22. What did you think about Edna's lesbianism story?
  23. Another 1986 episode is up! This one is more about developing stories, but it's still very watchable. The only parts I don't care for are everything with Shannon and the ring and her secret - just forced. I see this is still when they had her in dowdier clothes. Lots of good moments with Lucinda trying to fit in at the Snyders, Lyla embarking on her singing career (Lisa's shoulder pads threw me but Lyla looks like a linebacker in a dress), Betsy struggling to define her life on her terms as Steve becomes more and more materialistic (you can also see hints of the Iva/Steve story they soon dropped), Tom still missing Barbara, Sierra's struggles for independence, etc. My favorite moment is when Emma and Lucinda marvel over their daughters Iva and Lily... I was surprised at how much more I preferred Tonio here than I did when he was the smooth-talking sleaze. I like the contrast between this geeky, awkward man with glasses and checked sweaters and hesitant speech who then repeatedly tries to shame Sierra into being his property. It's much more interesting, and Peter Boynton also looks better.
