A glimpse of Elizabeth Savage as Gwyn. Perhaps someday we'll get an actual scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_06mnFVMS6s

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
There are a number of other episodes too on that channel (from 83-84). Betsy does seem a little dumb, although I can see her appeal (I generally preferred Lindsay Frost). Craig also seems to be more of an open jackass here than I remember him being toward the end of his relationship with her. I had to laugh at that music in the Gunnar/Barbara scenes. So very 80s. It almost sounded like a video game intro.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
Finished up the end of season 1. "Wildfire" - This was the first episode where I thought every scene was just right. Carol breaking down as she mutilated her abusive husband's corpse was a tough tough scene, phenomenally acted. How Melissa McBride was not a major presence on TV before now is a mystery to me. She brings so much to this role. Jim staying behind, hoping he could at least be reunited with his family in zombiedom, broke my heart. Andrea waiting to kill and bury her sister, always on her own - the scene where she pulled the gun on Rick, saying, "I turned the safety off," calling back to one of his first conversations with her. Shane's moment of madness where he almost killed Rick. Lori and Shane both allowing their separate guilt to override any doubts about Rick's CDC plan. Very good intro for Dr. Jenner. I'm still not sure why Morales and his family needed to be written out but I guess it's realistic to have people going their separate ways, especially after such a massacre. "TS-919" I guess you could tell Jacqui was going because she was one of the only people who didn't have a shower scene... I thought this had some great moments, my favorite being the one where Jenner showed the scan of a brain dying, then being reborn. Noah Emmerich was excellent in the role. I almost wish he'd stayed on longer, as no one else on the show had his perspective and he had the potential to shake up the dynamics. I must say that if they wanted Jacqui choosing to stay behind to have more of an impact, they should have taken a little time to develop her character. Viewers knew almost nothing about her. Even in her last episode she was barely seen. Her last scene with Jenner was moving, but could have been more. Would the group, especially Andrea and Dale, have survived that explosion when they were still close to the building?? That Lori/Shane attempted rape scene disturbed me on many levels, one of them that just yesterday I saw a confession on tumblr that basically said Shane was a good person because at least he stopped! Sometimes when I see moments like all the men wandering around in the power room while the women are with the kids or alone, I can see how such a sexist view permeates fandom, but that's still scary as hell. I was angry that Dale took Andrea's choice away from her. I was actually very relieved that she confronted him about this in the season 2 opener because I thought it would be brushed under the rug. Andrew Lincoln was incredibly hot in the scenes with drunk Rick staggering around.

I think I looked up his age when he first came on, before I realized Marquess was going to be even worse than the others.

I always saw Edmund's exit as more due to age and Frons - Edmund was going nuts before McTavish came back.

He still looked too old. He also looked like the Goon from Popeye, which didn't help.

I can't get past seeing Justin Deas act. I don't mean bellow to the rooftops, I mean genuinely act, with emotion and understatement and quiet pain. I guess falling in love with your costar can bring out your best. It's amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QCj9nbpV1A

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
Thanks. This is all fascinating info. It makes sense that they would have originally planned to kill off Sky. I wonder what their plans for Raven would have been.

I thought I saw a little message around the time of the original uploads saying he wasn't including any strike material. I might be wrong though.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
I barely watched anything with Joel. The most I can tell you is that he had a flat ass. Bart was too old for the role. About ten years too old. I get the feeling that the only reason this character had fans was the story with Jason, which did nothing for me, mostly because the woman who played Jason seemed to have little range beyond constipated.

I thought this might have been about Gillian Taylforth joining the show (has that been confirmed?). Mushmouth leaving has been known for a while, although never officially confirmed. I won't be watching until his brain dead twink of a punching bag goes too.

It's a great story. I do wonder what it would have been like if the Verna portion had run longer, as originally planned.

All My Children Tribute Thread
The whole story was a mess. Honestly there was no great reason to even bring her back. It's not as if she'd ever been a ratings draw, or had much story left to tell. At the time I was so annoyed by most of AMC in early 2003 that the Maureen/Aidan stuff didn't bother me.

I actually preferred Maureen, mostly because I thought Maria was kind of a fake bitch. But then even when Maria became Maria again she wasn't exactly her old self. Too bad they wasted this on the crazy Edmund stories instead of just having her fight it out with the other bitches of Pine Valley.
