Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
If you had to grade the casts on a scale of real to fake, in terms of their relationships and stories, who would be most fake, or least fake? Do you think a lot of the tension between the women on BH is real or is it for drama? I have to admit when I read about Lisa, Brandi, and Yolanda falling out, I thought it might be just for TV drama (since it would be the next natural "storyline," as Adrienne is gone from the show and Kyle would be isolated).

December 1971 audio recording, heavily focused on Marcy Wade's plot against Viki. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziTZLw0z6oY Vinnie is quite a colorful character, especially by 1971 soap standards. I wasn't expecting to hear someone in that era say, "Drop dead!" Francesca James had that perfect voice for unstable soap women - Nancy Addison had that type of voice too, and she also played a psycho in her early soap days before she, like James, got to play a difficult heroine.

I didn't realize Mary was pregnant when she died. It's so horrible. No wonder Jeff left. Nice to get to see another side to Kate.

The only early Barbara stuff I've seen on Youtube is a 1978 episode very early in CZ's run.

Is there anything from after you started watching the show that you've never seen on Youtube (or DVD)?

What do people think of her character in the comics? I'm glad the show keeps trying for more diversity.

The Politics Thread
Seeing the Beltway acting as if the likes of Joe Klein, Dana Milbank, and Maureen Dowd are liberal voices cracks me up. The media just sucks. http://www.politico.com/story/2013/09/obama-holds-fire-but-media-doesnt-96839.html?ml=po_r

I'm surprised they were still considering it that late in the show's life.

I didn't even know Lauren was on that show. I used to love the UK version. I wish they'd revive that. AMC is developing a "companion" series to TWD. Why they didn't do this years ago I'm not sure. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2013/09/16/amc-developing-companion-series-to-the-walking-dead/202858/

Radio Soap Opera Discussion
Thanks for reading. I will have to look more at the Wendy Warren show, and see if any is available online. I didn't know the writers did From These Roots. WAGM gets confusing because Joan Davis was the name of a popular film and TV comedienne in this era. For a long time when I saw Joan Davis I thought it meant her, when it was often Higby. And there was some woman named Mary Jane who played the friend on various Lucille Ball sitcoms for years, which meant for a while I got her confused with Higby.

Somerset Discussion Thread
Thanks. IMDB rarely lists soap writers so I didn't know what she'd written in daytime. I didn't post all the soaps listed in that yearbook because some of them we already know most of the info on, but I'm glad some of you are reading these and enjoying them. I'll try to post some of the others soon.

So Quinlan was the main one who wanted to focus on OLTL vets like Belack and Pinkerton? Did she bring them in? I wonder what some of her other story plans would have been.

I just wish I could see some of Valerie's work on the show. I've really enjoyed her primetime and indie work.

Her IMDB credits mostly are early 50s anthology shows. Did she have any other daytime experience?

Thanks. I've never seen the later years of MHMH (or Fernwood Forever). I enjoyed Fernwood 2-Nite (I saw it in reruns on Nick at Nite) but had no idea they were even sister shows until later years. - One Life to Live Tribute Thread
