  1. Q: Is Susan married to this Roger guy? EJ threatening Joy is exactly what he should be doing. I'm glad Joy has come to town as an innocent but I do think slowly transforming her into a villain with the aftermath of this story would be a smart choice. Also, I've said before I like Cherie better as an actress than Camila, but unfortunately it is true that Cherie has none of the grit that Banus had. I don't believe Cherie's Gabi ever came from humble beginnings. Still, I think this opportunity to put her and JJ together is classic soap build-up. In fact, I've really enjoyed this Cat story altogether. She's very likable and empathetic and if done right by could be a great character if AnnaLynne McCord wants to stick around. This is easily one of the best stories RC has done on DAYS that I can remember. In fact, I can't remember ever liking any of his actual stories on this show before, but my mind is a sieve so maybe I'm forgetting something. Anyway, I thought the Thanksgiving episode was great. I can easily separate the art from the artist, so seeing Melissa Reeves as Jennifer again (ugly dress aside), was a comfort. And literally from frame one she embodied Jennifer completely. Glad to see so many here agree. Lani and especially Eli felt great to see again, and glad we got him with Julie so quickly and was happily surprised to get a Jennifer/Eli scene, too. All the Horton house stuff was must watch for me. Can I just say I really don't care for Paulina. I keep trying to manifest Jackée Harry wanting to move on, but she's still here. I always thought it was dumb how they created her character and made Tamara a moot point. I thought Jack being the one to find Doug was a smart choice. It was almost like a passing of the torch from one former wrong 'un who married into the Hortons to another. Perfect. Though I think I would have wanted Jennifer and Eli to come rushing in after Julie dropped the candlestick. Lastly, I was most surprised to see the dining room of the Horton house to the point I didn't even know where Chad was at first. When's the last time a room besides the living room was shown?
  2. Next requests, finishing up the 70's: Elisabeth Brooks Charles Alvin Bell Barry Blakeley Dan Barton
  3. I've mentioned how I struggle with some of JPL's over the top acing choices, but at the end of the day, I find myself on Philip's side in all of this. I figure RC is going to screw it up at some point and take Philip too far or make him a complete loser, but for now I'm really enjoy him shaking things up. It's actually crazy how legitimately entertaining, bar the general problems the show has, the show is when Leo and B&S are nowhere to be found. It's also unfortunate that no matter the HW change, we're still going to be stuck with the show's awful background music. Superficially, I've really been enjoying the shameless showing off of the beautiful men on this show. Almost makes me nostalgic. Sorry, but I hated the pizza reference. I pray those meta in-jokes die with RC's exit. Maggie looked gorgeous today. And surprisingly, Kayla looked great, too, considering she's had some of the worst outfits to ever be worn unironically on this show. Still hate all RSW's ugly shirts though. He has so many of them. Much better when he goes without.
  4. I'm going to need a Men from Beyond the Gates calendar stat!
  5. Amazing find! Thanks for bringing that article here. And how wonderful a coincidence for me that this happens during the time I'm listening to John Ford's season of The Plot Thickens.
  6. For me, he's easily the worst character to ever be on the show.
  7. Yeah, Doug was the man. Doug and Julie, soap's greatest love story. This is going to be difficult.
  8. It was a completely made up parody, the scene never happened, but the way he wrote it, and me being a teenager at the time, I believed it was the real thing until the article got rambunctious near its end. I've never forgotten it. I miss that column all the time and wonder where that guy is these days.
  9. Can't say I haven't been pleased with all the whoring out of RSW lately, especially today. That shirt Brady has been wearing is very unflattering for Eric Martsolf, unfortunately. And I hate to be a bitch, but I really can't stand Linsey Godfrey as an actress. I don't know what the word is, but she just seems like the most obnoxious white woman ever. Plus, the horrible poodle hair and weird eyebrows. When it comes to Philip being written as joke, I do like him being a sarcastic ass, but JPL is definitely part of the problem. Those bizarre reactions are all him. Same with the amount of strange noises Jackée Harry makes with every line. Bring on next week! I pray it's going to be well done.
  10. Ben was before my OLTL watching time, so whenever I read about him I instantly think of that comedic article from the SnarkWeighsIn column where he explained why Ben and Viki were chosen, out of all the couples on the show at that time, to have a scene where she orally pleases him. Makes me laugh every time.
  11. During Higley's first run, was it her tenure where Tony pushed Sami through the DiMera french doors losing her voice to the glee of millions?
  12. Brash and Cwikly's only real stumble was how they introduced Rex and Cassie, but I loved both actors and though Eric Winter would have still left regardless, Alexis Thorpe could have been a great mainstay. It was absolutely Dena Higley that then ret-conned them as Roman and Kate's children. JER would have had a ball with Cassie, but felt she had to go because the retcon closed up any chance of any real future pairing.
  13. When you all watch the show can you see the redness on everyone's skin and the orangey make up on Chanel and Jada, or do I just have bad settings on my tv? Also, with all the slurring of his words that Josh Taylor does, if Roman had a stroke, would we be able to tell the difference?
  14. Have Karl or Susan ever had a child pass away? I think Holly would be a great choice for that.
  15. I hate it altogether and wish it never happened under any circumstance.
  16. If I was RC and was deluded enough to think Leo and (anyone) Javi would be a good couple, why would you not take the actual steps to get there, to build up a yearning, a wanting, a need for the couple to unite on what is supposed to be a SOAP OPERA. The first mistake was trying to make us believe Javi would be attracted to Leo at first sight. A herculean task. If anything, Leo would only be a discreet hook-up Javi would have to meet his needs, then when Leo won't leave well enough alone, Javi tries to let him down gently, but Leo being Leo, he becomes pushy, forcing Javi to reject him harshly. From there you would find reasons for Javi to grow fond of him, form a friendship, and THEN Javi would learn all about Leo's horrible past and want nothing to do with him. Of course, if it were actually me, Leo's exit would happen on day dot, but you see what I'm getting at.
  17. I don't know if she invented it, but Irna choosing to SORAS her characters, which gave the greenlight for others to do the same. Could you imagine a world where Bill never SORAS'ed Mike, and he learned about his true paternity in 1986? Plus, the practice was one of the first where soaps let go of their sense of realism, and its been an extremely slippery slope ever since.
  18. I actually didn't mind today' episode. The mystery of who sent the cupcakes gave it a good throughline. I could be wrong but I actually think the cupcakes were sent by whose return was spoiled by a leaked cast list from a script awhile back.
  19. I've finally taken the long awaited plunge the past couple weeks and have just finished season 1 of The Americans. On to season 2 ... Was there ever a thread for the show here?
  20. In my mind I'm surprised he hasn't already. Good, solid choice.
  21. Well, they certainly saved some money on that promo.
  22. Random story spec: Since the main family only has two daughters, a long lost son is bound to turn up, or he'll be a character already on the show whose paternity/maternity is a secret.
  23. Next requests: Amanda Jones Marc Jacobs (not the designer lol) John Zenda Diane Shalet
  24. I managed to finish off October and November 1. Madelyn Kientz is easily the best of the young lot. Leo Howard is beautiful, but I wonder if we could have another religious nut on our hands because of the scene where the morning after the night before with Sophia, the comforter was covering his body, then he got out of bed with sweatpants and couldn't put a shirt on fast enough. Brady and Ava reeks of, "Yeah, I guess that'll do." I finished the Hallowe'en episode in record time. Skipped right through all of Leo's cringe ass dream. JPL still has a great body. If they only had an Ed Scott on set to diminish his Stafford-isms, I'd love him, honestly. Loved those Chad and Julie scenes. And can't wait to watch Kate reunited with Vivian.
