  1. They should. I don't remember hearing any issues with airings for The Talk or even As The World Turns. It was only Guiding Light and currently Let's Make a Deal that does not have solid slots that can be easily referenced. Similarly, GH. For instance, LMAD airs either at 10:00 a.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT or 3:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. PT, depending on your market. This started happening with Guiding Light in the 90s. GH airs at 2:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. PT on ABC, but except for one of the owned ABC stations, it otherwise airs in its old 3:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. PT slot on 7 ABC-owned stations (WABC/KABC for example).
  2. CBS and Paramount+ have launched the official websites for “Beyond the Gates,” the new daytime drama series premiering Monday, February 24. Both websites will provide future opportunities for fans to watch full episodes of the daytime drama series when it premieres, including the five-part daytime special “Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood.” On the CBS.com page, the website currently provides at least two recently released videos, including the historic start of production preview and the first trailer for the series. The page also provides a synopsis of the series, and a related shows section which includes daytime shows “The Bold and the Beautiful” “The Young and the Restless,” “The Price is Right,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and the new primetime drama, “Watson,” starring Morris Chestnut. The same content on CBS.com is also available through the CBS App. At Paramount+ (paramountplus.com), the page provides all the same basic information as shown on CBS.com, however, it includes additional shows subscribers might like, including “Matlock,” “Elsbeth,” “The Equalizer,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Under the Dome,” and several other new and classic programming produced and/or distributed by Paramount Global Distribution, among other production studios. The same content available on the Paramount+ website is also available on the Paramount+ App. To stream full episodes of “Beyond the Gates” Live and On Demand, subscribe to Paramount+. 3. Former “The Young and the Restless” star Hunter King (ex-Summer Newman) is set to appear in the Season 7 finale of CBS’ “The Neighborhood,” which is being set up as a backdoor pilot for a potential spinoff series. According to Deadline, King, along with actors Justin Long, Kara Royster and Angelique Cabral, have cast options where they’ll become series regulars on the planted spinoff should it get picked up by the network for the 2025-2026 season. The proposed series will star Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney, who play Marty Butler and Malcolm Butler, respectively, on “The Neighborhood.” The two will segue to the offshoot if picked up. The spinoff is set as a reverse concept of the mothership series, where Marty (Spears) and Malcolm (McKinney) Butler embark on new adventures, finally leaving their family home to start the next chapters in their lives, including acquainting themselves as newcomers in a neighborhood both close by but yet worlds apart: Venice Beach. http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/media/2025/02/3027720_0478b-1024x683.jpgSheaun McKinney as Malcolm and Marcel Spears as Marty Monty Brinton/CBS King will play the role of “Bellamy,” a dark and sardonic individual who is often under the influence of edibles. For work, she handles content generation for the coolest cannabis boutique in SoCal. Despite her jaded outlook, she’s also hilarious, fun and a fiercely loyal friend. With secret dreams of doing something bigger, for now, she’s content in her carefully curated world of detachment and irony. Long will play Bruce, a tech millionaire who is a mix of unjustified confidence and social ineptitude. Royster will play Matisse, a child of privilege, who is Malcolm’s new neighbor and a would-be influencer, and Cabral will play Lisa, a fast-talking book agent who seems genuinely passionate about Malcolm’s writing talent and hopes to represent him and take him to the top of the literary world. On Instagram, King said of her casting, “Crying, screaming, throwing up thank you to @kaplanaaron and @cbstv for this amazing opportunity! This cast is unbelievable and I feel so lucky to get to act along side of them. AHHH someone pinch me!” “The Neighborhood” premiered in the fall of 2018, holding down the fort on Monday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, and follows the story of the Butlers’ unlikely friendship with their new(ish) neighbor, perpetual nice-guy Dave Johnson (Max Greenfield), his wife, Gemma (Beth Behrs), and their now-teenage son, Grover. After seven years of sharing a front yard, the Johnsons have gone from neighborhood newcomers to full-on denizens, really becoming the best of friends with the Butlers (though Calvin [Cedric the Entertainer] won’t admit it). The two families, who couldn’t be more different, have realized they have much more in common than they ever thought they would. Tichina Arnold plays Tina, Calvin’s wife and the mother of both Marty and Malcolm. Produced by CBS Studios, “The Neighborhood” is a multi-camera comedy taped in Los Angeles in front of a live studio audience. Executive producers include Bill Martin, Mike Schiff, Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, Cedric the Entertainer and Eric Rhone. Throughout much of 2012-2022, Hunter King played the role of Summer Newman on the CBS daytime drama series “The Young and the Restless.” After exiting the series, she has appeared in several original movies for Hallmark Channel, including “Two Scoops of Italy,” “The Santa Summit” and more recently “Holiday Touchdown: A Chief’s Love Story.” From 2015-2019, King co-starred in the CBS single-camera comedy, “Life in Pieces,” playing the role of Clementine Hughes. The series also starred Colin Hanks, Thomas Sadoski, Dianne West, James Brolin and Betsy Brandt, among others. 4. That's one of the things I'm waiting to hear back on. I will hopefully have an update by Friday.
  5. ‘Days of our Lives’ Star Billy Flynn to Appear on CBS’ ‘Matlock’ Flynn will guest in the Thursday, February 13 episode titled "A Traitor in Thine Own House." https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2025/02/days-of-our-lives-billy-flynn-cbs-matlock

  7. “Days of our Lives” star Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera) is set to appear in the Thursday, February 13 episode “Matlock,” a quasi-update to the iconic series of the same name. In the episode titled “A Traitor in Thine Own House,” tensions rise as Shae Banfield (Yael Grobglas) works alongside Olympia Lawrence’s (Skye P. Marshall) team when Jacobson Moore, the law firm at the center of the series, deposes employees at a tech startup that’s had trade secrets stolen. Flynn plays Atticus Waverly, one of the employees at the tech company. “Matlock” stars Kathy Bates as Madeline “Matty” Matlock, a brilliant septuagenarian who achieved great success in her younger years and decides to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases. Since its launch last fall, the freshman series has emerged as network television’s second most-watched drama series, behind only “Tracker” starring Justin Hartley (“The Young and the Restless,” “Passions), with the premiere episode averaging 15.8 million multiplatform viewers in its first 30 days. When factoring in the two encore airings on October 8, 2024, and October 10, 2024, the number jumped to 22.8 million viewers. Check out an exclusive sneak peek of Flynn’s appearance on “Matlock” below. http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/media/2025/02/Billy-Flynn-Matlock-Hi-Res-01-1024x576.jpgBilly Flynn in “Matlock” Courtesy of CBS http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/media/2025/02/Billy-Flynn-Matlock-Hi-Res-02-1024x576.jpgBilly Flynn in “Matlock” Courtesy of CBS Check out clips from the “A Traitor in Thine Own House” episode of “Matlock” below. “Matlock” / A Traitor in Thine Own House – Clip 1 “Matlock” / A Traitor in Thine Own House – Clip 2 “Matlock” / A Traitor in Thine Own House – Clip 3 “Matlock” / A Traitor in Thine Own House – Clip 4 “Matlock” airs Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. 8. Beyond the Gates has to at least outperform reruns of The Price is Right, otherwise it will be a cause for concern. When a network can air reruns of a show that gets the same or better ratings than an original show that costs you 30-50 million a year to produce, they have a problem. That's why The Talk got canned. It wasn't pulling in enough eyeballs and it had no repeat or additional financial value for CBS/Paramount. No one was watching clips on the show's YouTube channel, and they sure as hell weren't watching the show on either CBS.com/CBS App or Paramount+. Unlike The View, there was NOTHING worth rewatching from The Talk. Their topics were terrible and uninteresting and didn't generate any buzz, much less go viral. Again, The View with its political slant had people wanting to know what they had to say about just about anything, whether it be Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, Taylor Swift, the Super Bowl, Kendrick Lamar and many others. At the end of the day, whether you like the hosts or not, The View gets people talking, both good and bad. The Talk had nothing to talk about. At least nothing memorable.
  9. “Entertainment Tonight” co-host Nischelle Turner will be making a cameo appearance on “Beyond the Gates,” CBS announced on Tuesday. Although details on who Turner would be playing on the soap opera were not released, including whether she’d be playing herself, or for how long, news of her appearance first came to light as the network shared plans to air “Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood,” a five-part half-hour daytime special to air during the week of February 17-21, presented by the team at “Entertainment Tonight.” Hosted by “Entertainment Tonight” co-host Kevin Frazier and uber soap fan, comedian and television personality Sheryl Underwood (“The Talk”), the daytime special will air from 2:00-2:30 p.m. ET/1:00-1:30 p.m. PT, followed by encore episodes of “The Bold and the Beautiful” at 2:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT – original episodes of “The Bold and the Beautiful” will continue to air in the show’s regular time slot (1:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT). In the fifth episode of “Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood,” titled “Sneak Peek and Guest Stars,” viewers will get an exclusive first look at the show’s premiere episode, featuring high-stakes action, deep secrets, and unforgettable drama. The sneak peek sets the stage for a season filled with twists, turns, and lots of surprises. Plus, hear directly from the cast and creators about what’s in store for Fairmont Crest. Later in the episode, the “Entertainment Tonight” Vault will revisit where fans first met the stars of “Beyond the Gates” and where they might have seen them before. Additionally, Turner will step into Fairmont Crest for her must-see cameo, giving fans a glimpse of the fun and surprises still to come. http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/media/2025/01/3045191_1535b-1024x684.jpgMarquita Goings as Hayley Lawson and Karen Huger Quantrell Colbert/CBS Turner joins the previously announced Karen Huger (“The Real Housewives of Potomac”) as a celebrity guest set to make a cameo on the new daytime drama series, with more names likely to be revealed during the episode airing Friday, February 21. “Beyond the Gates” is the first brand new soap opera set to debut on a broadcast network in more than 25 years, since the launch of “Passions” in 1999, and the first-ever one-hour Black-centric daytime drama series. The series premieres Monday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. PT on CBS, and will be available to stream Live and On Demand on Paramount+*. The series is developed and produced by the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, led by Sheila Ducksworth, in partnership with P&G Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. Michele Val Jean is the creator, head writer, executive producer and showrunner alongside executive producers Sheila Ducksworth, Julie Carruthers, Robert Guza Jr., Leon W. In addition to its airing on CBS, “Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood” will be available to stream Live and On Demand on Paramount+, the official home of popular soap operas like “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Young and the Restless” and, of course, “Beyond the Gates.” Produced and distributed by CBS Media Ventures, “Entertainment Tonight” is co-hosted by Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner with Rachel Smith, Cassie DiLaura and Denny Directo as correspondents. Erin Johnson serves as executive producer with Whitney Wallace and Leslie Kawaguchi as co-executive producers. *Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers will have access to stream Live via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service, as well as On Demand. 10. I can't say what it is yet, but there is something else that CBS/Beyond the Gates has up its sleeve that will BREAK THE SOAP INTERNET! It should be announced sometime this week, but soap fans will be SAT when they find out!!!
  11. Right. I get the confusion because Julie Chen changed her name so that she can professionally be referred to as Julie Chen Moonves. Ultimately, it was Les Moonves who chose The Talk to replace As The World Turns and have his wife, Julie, as co-host/moderator.
  12. She might have been. Nischelle Turner is making a cameo, and some others as well. They'll be shown and talked about in one of the special's episodes.
  13. OMG! The Talk was an absolute FAILURE! Someone just shared with me how repeats of The Price is Right did in the 2:00 p.m. ET slot and it had roughly +500,000 viewers more than The Talk had at its best during the show's 15th and final season. I'm talking about encores of TPIR doing 1.6-1.7 million viewers! Just F'ing WOW! Thank God CBS has a replacement in the wings with Beyond the Gates, otherwise, they'd continue losing tons of money just sitting there waiting to be taken.
  14. Not sure if they did it today or yesterday, but I believe it was one of the two, but CBS has finally added a Beyond the Gates page to its website at CBS.com under the Daytime section. However, the URL is different from the rest of its shows which use an underscore to sepate the show's title. https://www.cbs.com/shows/daytime/ https://www.cbs.com/shows/beyond-the-gates/ Ironically, The Bold and the Beautiful will air at 2:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT after "Beyond the Gates," as I previously suggested last year after BTG (then "The Gates") was announced. Of course, I had BTG at 1:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT as one of my schedule options if the network chose to put B&B after it. Still, I love how they made it happen even though it wasn't the exact schedule I suggested as a possibility.
  15. Heads Up, Canada! I'll have info on where and when to watch Beyond the Gates in Canada in a few days. Currently, there is nothing official even though I know I've seen places noting it'll air on some independent station in the country at 2:00 p.m.

  18. With news that CBS will air the five-part half-hour daytime special “Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood,” ahead of the premiere of its new daytime drama series, “Beyond the Gates,” Soap Opera Network has learned that the network will also air encore episodes of “The Bold and the Beautiful” immediately following the special. As previously reported, during the week of February 17-21, the network will broadcast “Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood,” which will provide viewers with a unique experience into the journey of bringing the new daytime soap opera to life, from its powerful representation of Black culture and history to the 27 meticulously designed sets that create the world of Fairmont Crest, a wealthy gated community with leafy tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions. The five-part half-hour special airs from 2:00-2:30 p.m. ET/1:00-1:30 p.m. PT on CBS and will also be available to stream Live and On Demand on Paramount+. 19. I presume the homes themselves are called the Fairmont Estates or Fairmont Crest Estates, while the main building is called Fairmont Crest Country Club. Will inquire for clarification.
  20. BTW, I love that Sheryl Underwood is part of this, even though the show replaced her daytime talk show. Also, Nischelle Turner will have a cameo on BTG.
  21. Added in this line to the story: In addition to its airing on CBS, "Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood" will be available to stream Live and On Demand on Paramount+, the official home of popular soap operas like "The Bold and the Beautiful," "The Young and the Restless" and "Beyond the Gates."
  22. Will be sharing additional info shortly, including what will air after the five-part half-hour special next week.
