It is not recommended or advised to save your password via your browser. People do and have forgotten their passwords when they need them and do, at times, log in from a new or different device, including a mobile or tablet. Use this time to make sure you know what your password is. Once the time comes to revert settings, I shouldn't hear people can't log in because they forgot what email they use to log in or the password, which they then can't reset because the email address on file is unknown to the user. Always good to have a method of remembering your email address used/password. Good idea. As I said elsewhere. Not a problem. Just helped hopefully resolve an issue others seem to be having as well.

I resent the validation email to @Darn. I've also spent hours looking into any issues with our system sending out emails and I can confirm that every email tested was received by the various email addresses I tested it with. Other than possibly being placed in someone's spam folder, there is no apparent reason why users aren't receiving emails from the message boards via [email protected].
  3. I wish that site would STOP posting their speculations as "News." I know they are the biggest click-baiter among all soap sites, but at least make it very clear that particular articles posted in the "news" section are opinion/speculation and not actual news.

    Glad to help wherever possible.
  5. Although the policy of logging in via email address has been in place since November 6, 2021, we are temporarily allowing SON Community members to log in with their username (aka Display name) through April 30, 2023. This is primarily for users who have had trouble logging in due to not having access to the email address they initially used to register an account. Non-impacted users should continue logging in using their email address. All users are highly encouraged to update the email address we have on file. This will ensure that when the settings returns to login by email address only, you are accessing the system using a current and valid email address. To change/update your email address on file: Click on drop down list where your display name appears on the top right-hand corner of the page Click on Account Settings Click Email Address Save/update email address Additionally, we highly recommend users sign up for the two-factor authentication feature. This can be found under Settings and Privacy. Again, this option is temporary and will be removed effective May 1, 2023. Best Regards, SON Administration
  6. You can now “Empower Your Heart” to support the American Heart Association and its “Life Is Why” campaign with a jewelry collection by Susan Lucci and sold exclusively through Tiary. In a post on Instagram, the “All My Children” icon can be seen wearing the Pave Pendant version of the necklace (retails for $2,300) as she reminds women to take charge of their heart health. The caption states, “Listen to your body/don’t ignore symptoms/take action/put YOU on your to-do list!!! Save your life.” There are currently two offerings of the necklace, including the aforementioned 14k White gold and Diamond Heart Pave Pendant and the Sterling Silver and Gold Heart Pendant (retails for $300). Through December 31, 2023, Tiary will donate 25% of the purchase price to the American Heart Association Life is Why Campaign. For more information and to purchase the necklace, click here. 7. Last week, “The 36th Global Film and Television Arts Huading Awards” occurred at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California. The ceremony honored globally recognized actors, actresses, films, television programs and producers with awards. “All Quiet on the Western Front” won the award for Best Global Film, while Michelle Yeoh won Best Actress in a Global Film for her role in “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and Brendan Fraser won Best Actor in a Global Film for his role in “The Whale.” In the television series categories, “Better Call Saul” won the award for Best Global TV Series and Kristos Andrews took home the award for Best Actor in a Global TV Series for his dual portrayal as Pete Garrett and Adam Kenway during the seventh season of the popular digital drama series. Mai Davika Hoorne was honored with the award for Best Actress in a Global TV Series for her starring role in the Thai drama “My Ambulance.” French director Florian Zeller won the Best Global Film Director award for his film “The Son,” which is a follow-up to his acclaimed film “The Father.” Past winners have included Nicole Kidman, Orlando Bloom, Halle Berry and Quentin Tarantino. This year marked the third time the Huading Awards were held in Hollywood since their first visit in 2014 and their return to Hollywood in 2016. The organization notes it was “an icebreaker tour after a gap of seven years.” In January, the Huading Awards Group announced the upgrade of the Huading Awards brand in Los Angeles. Regarding film and television awards, the awards would be selected for “global film and television masterpieces in the same session, and the award name will be changed to Global Film and Television Art Huading Awards.” The main competition unit has been divided into two units: global and Chinese, with more emphasis placed on the selection of global film and television “masterpieces, which fully moves towards internationalization.” According to the plan, the Global Film and Television Art Huading Awards will be held in Hollywood every year in March. Chaired by Bill Mechanic, former CEO of Fox Film Company, and former Chairman of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscar Jury), this year’s judges included Robert Minkoff, Nicholas Meyer, David Russell, Herb Jordan, Kim Estes, Shelley Curtis-Litvack (“All My Children,” “General Hospital,” et al.) and Roberta Bassin. Eligibility for the Huading Awards requires movies, TV series, online movies and dramas to have premiered in theaters, TV stations and mainstream online platforms worldwide between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022. Founded in 2007 by the Huading Awards Group, the Huading Awards aims to promote Asia’s thriving arts and cultural scene, spread Asian culture, and help bridge the gap between the Asian and global entertainment industries. Check out photos from the event below, which included appearances by several notable people from daytime, including “General Hospital” star Finola Hughes, Katherine Kelly Lang and Jennifer Gareis from “The Bold and the Beautiful,” plus “The Bay” writers and producers Gregori J. 8. With several fan favorites taking part in a mysterious storyline that kick starts later this month on “General Hospital,” it is no surprise that the show would need the influence of Helena Cassadine to amplify the threat. A recent post on her official Facebook page revealed that Constance Towers had taped scenes initially set to air on Friday, May 5 and Monday, May 8. However, with this Tuesday’s preemption, episodes have been pushed forward by one day. Therefore, pending no further interruptions, Towers’ episodes are now expected to air on Monday, May 8 and Tuesday, May 9. Towers last appeared on the daytime drama series in January 2022 when news spread that Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) had perished. Helena appeared via video message with guests speculating that she had something to do with Luke’s death. In the build-up to the show’s 60th anniversary celebration, it was announced that the icons of Port Charles would unite to stop a legendary threat from the past, which likely explains Helena’s upcoming return. Also returning is Jane Elliot as Tracy Quartermaine. Note: The post Constance Towers Back as Helena Cassadine on ‘General Hospital’ appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. Read More
  9. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has signed a new two-year deal with CBS that’ll keep the Daytime Emmy Awards on the network through at least 2024. The network will broadcast “The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” live on Friday, June 16, from 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET/delayed PT. The telecast will also be available to stream live and On Demand on Paramount+*. In a statement, Adam Sharp, President and CEO of NATAS, said, “We are thrilled to be back with our incredible broadcast partner CBS for two years.” He added, “In commemorating the show’s golden anniversary this year, we look forward to honoring and celebrating the beloved world of daytime television.” “CBS has a storied history in daytime and we are delighted to continue having ‘The Daytime Emmys’ on the Network for the next two years,” said Mackenzie Mitchell, vice president, specials, music and live events, CBS. “We look forward to celebrating the show’s 50th anniversary and highlighting the best that daytime has to offer.” “The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” will be produced by NATAS and Associated Television International (ATI), which previously produced Daytime Emmy Award ceremonies on The CW in 2009 and on CBS in 2010, 2011, 2020, 2021 and 2022. This year’s ceremony marks the 17th time CBS will broadcast the Daytime Emmy Awards, more than any other network. “The 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” will air on CBS in 2024. Since 1974, the Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts, honoring work in various categories, including daytime dramas, talk shows, instructional programming, hosting, and legal/courtroom programs. In 2021, NATAS and the Television Academy jointly announced plans to realign the Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards to be organized by content genre instead of program airtime. In addition, in recognition of the marked increase in content and entries for children’s programming, 2022 marked the first annual Children’s & Family Emmy® Awards, with relevant categories separating from the Daytime Emmys into their own competition and ceremony. All awards are judged by a pool of peer professionals from across the television industry. Since 2020, the Daytime Emmy Awards have been broadcast on CBS. Before that, the last time the ceremony aired on broadcast television was in 2011 when CBS carried the program. In 2012 and 2013, the awards ceremony was aired by the cable news network HLN. In 2014, for the first time, the awards ceremony was not available on television; the awards ceremony was available to stream online only. One year later, in 2015, the awards show returned to television via a deal with the cable network Pop. Although the network initially agreed to air the show as part of a two-year deal, which would have included the 2016 ceremony, the Daytime Emmy Awards was once again available for streaming only from 2016-2019. *Paramount+ Premium subscribers will have access to stream live via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service and On Demand. Essential-tier subscribers will have access to on-demand the day after the special airs. 12. “General Hospital” actress Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina Davis) will be a guest star in the 20th season finale episode of “NCIS,” a rep for the CBS drama has confirmed to Soap Opera Network. The episode airs Monday, May 22. In an Instagram story published earlier this week, Ainsworth shared a snapshot of her headshot on a casting board which indicated she’ll be playing the role of Holly Lygnos in an episode titled “Second Opinion.” No further details about her appearance were available at press time. “NCIS” centers on a team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service who work to solve cases involving murder, espionage, terrorism and even stolen submarines with ties to the Navy or Marine Corps. Already renewed for a 21st season, “NCIS” airs Mondays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The series stars Sean Murray as NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee, Wilmer Valderrama as NCIS Special Agent Nicholas “Nick” Torres, Brian Dietzen as Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer, Diona Reasonover as Forensic Scientist Kasie Hines, Katrina Law as NCIS Special Agent Jessica Knight, Rocky Carroll as NCIS Director Leon Vance and Gary Cole as FBI Special Agent Alden Parker. Original cast member David McCallum continues to appear as Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard. 14. A sitting or former United States president has been indicted on criminal charges for the first time in our nation’s history. As a result, the Tuesday, April 4 episode of “General Hospital” was preempted by ABC due to ongoing ABC News coverage of the historic event. The episode is now scheduled to air on Wednesday, April 5, and pushes all previously scheduled episodes forward by a day. Courtesy of The White House Additional preemptions are likely as the case progresses after the criminal indictment against former President Donald J. Trump was unsealed on Tuesday, which included 34 felony counts of falsification of business records in the first degree, NPR reported. Trump appeared for his arraignment in a Manhattan courtroom at around 2:28 p.m. ET and left at 3:25 p.m. He sat between his lawyers, Joe Tacopina and Susan Necheles, while officers from the NYPD stood behind him. “Today’s unsealing of the indictment shows that the rule of law died in this country,” Tacopina told the media outside the courthouse. “If this man’s name was not Donald J. Trump there is no scenario we’d all be here today.” A grand jury agreed to indict Trump after Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg presented evidence of multiple allegations against the former president, including orchestrating a scheme with others to influence the 2016 presidential election, claims of payment to women who were intimately involved with Trump, including an alleged $130,000 payment to silence Stormy Daniels. 15. Yes. "New original episodes of the Emmy-nominated web series Gotham are coming to television and all digital media. Gotham is a continuing serial drama written by two-time Emmy-winning Actress/Producer Martha Byrne and Emmy-nominated Actress/Director Lisa Brown." https://www.prweb.com/releases/2013/4/prweb10639222.htm

"All 13 of the 4-6 minute episodes have been edited into one full 45 minute pilot and can be downloaded either to rent or buy." https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/martha-byrnes-gotham-vimeo-demand/ The Vimeo link doesn't work anymore. It's a "What could have been" type of situation with these web series. Sadly, it takes someone with some serious money/backing to invest in our soap actors and their concepts for any of them to come to fruition or have long-term potential. Not only would it be great to have so much more content to embrace, but we'd see some of these much-missed talents playing different roles. If only someone ran SOAPnet properly and didn't try and turn it into the Carrie Bradshaw network as a last-ditch effort before Disney ultimately decided to rebrand it as Disney Junior. We could have had our version of Hallmark Channel with series and movies starring soap actors. I'm just rambling...
  17. The wait is almost over for Marvel Studios’ espionage thriller “Secret Invasion.” The live-action original series will premiere Wednesday, June 21, exclusively on Disney+. 19. You'd be surprised how many TV/movie news articles written by the trades (specifically Deadline) are verbatim from a press release sent by studios, actors, shows, publicists, etc. It's quite jarring.
  20. In response to a comment on her Instagram timeline, actress Charlotte Ross hinted at a possible return to “Days of our Lives,” where she portrayed Eve Donovan on the series from 1987-1991. The role was most recently portrayed by Kassie DePaiva, who herself played the role off and on from 2014-2020. “We’ve had a few conversions lately…,” said Ross in response to user @erikfreund, who had asked her, “Are you going to come back to days as eve.” The original post by Ross, highlighted by a picture of her enjoying an evening out, was captioned, “About last eve…” and included a smiling face emoji with the hashtag “#nofilter.” While the original posts were made in late January, specifically the day after Ross’ birthday, there has been no further public comment by the actress or anyone from the show about a possible return for Ross. That said, considering the soap tapes roughly six months before airing all-new episodes on Peacock, it could be some time before we might even see her on-screen should a deal eventually be made or announced. And that’s if said discussions have gone anywhere beyond “a few conversations.” In the meantime, another “Days of our Lives” veteran, Louise Sorel, recently announced her return to the series as Vivian Alamain. However, fans won’t see her on screen until late summer or early fall due to the aforementioned tape-to-air schedule. Should the show and Ross strike a deal for a return, keep checking Soap Opera Network for the latest. Check out Ross’ Instagram post below. 23. Get ready for the return of Shemar Moore on “The Young and the Restless,” albeit briefly. Deadline reports that Moore is set to reprise his role as Malcolm Winters on the daytime drama series for a single episode, airing Monday, May 8. According to a story breakdown, Malcolm returns to Genoa City to connect with his daughter, Lily (Christel Khalil), nephew Devon (Bryton James) and his stepson Nate (Sean Dominic) from a prior relationship with Nate’s mother, Olivia (Tonya Williams). For a refresher, Lily was determined to be the biological daughter of Malcolm from a one night stand with Lily’s mother, Drucilla (Victoria Rowell). At the time, Dru thought she had slept with her husband, Neil (the late Kristoff St. John), Malcolm’s brother, while under the influence of cold medicine. Devon was adopted by Dru and Neil in 2006. In 2019, Moore reprised his role as Malcolm to help honor the life of his friend and former scene partner, Kristoff St. John. As part of the tribute to the actor, the soap dedicated a series of episodes to St. John and his character, including a one-hour special aired in the show’s timeslot that featured a reunion of current and former cast members as they remembered their former co-star. Moore, who left the soap in 2005 to join the cast of “Criminal Minds,” won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Malcolm. Since 2017, the actor has led the cast of “S.W.A.T.,” the hit CBS drama series where he portrays the iconic Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson. The series is reportedly on the bubble for a seventh season renewal by the network. “The Young and the Restless” is currently celebrating its 50th year on television, debuting March 26, 1973. The soap is already renewed for the 2023-2024 television season. 24. To add, the video billboard is a minute long. Too much content used to be granted permission by ABC or given fair use privileges (which generally applies to social media, not advertising). Not sure how much was spent, how the money was generated, whether it included payment to ABC for use, or whatever else is related to it, but that's a longer video than expected. Maybe 10 seconds could suffice. All in all, I'm just thinking out loud since I have to concern myself with this every day with every article posted and even every post made by posters on the SON Community that includes video and photos, which, again, is something that will soon be addressed here. The only acceptable content I think their fans could use is photos/videos of themselves interacting with the actors at fan events or photos taken by fans of the actors. Otherwise, the entire ad is just edited clips from General Hospital.
  25. They didn't use still shots. It's an edited video from the show, which ABC owns. Still shots are also owned by the network since they paid for creating the content. Related, some of these matters will be addressed on SON itself when it comes to photo use. Generally speaking, if you don't own the content and aren't paying a license, the only way to use it without issue is to get permission from the license holder. That said, I'm only speaking from a legal perspective on the use of the video. The name Sprina isn't in question or at issue from my perspective. As for the billboard owner, I have never paid for a billboard before, so I don't know what the rules and regs are, but I doubt they are going to investigate the ownership of imagery used in an ad.
