But anyway, these stunts have very little long-term value, so I expect a massive falling soon.
At least this rise didn't occur during a sweeps month, you know, when it actually matters.

I've never understood the point of these stunts. The shows that use them religiously get a bump in the ratings for a week or two, then their ratings fall back to the same pre-stunt levels, if that. If these kind of things were well thought out, the writers would have enough compelling story to hold new and lapsed viewers, but they never do. It's all for nothing really, and the shows wind up harming themselves by destroying core families, or characters which trace their history back to core families. I'm also concerned that soaps now see death, and the emotional fallout by the hospital bedside or funeral as a way to snag an Emmy. Y&R did it with Cassie's death, then John's death. B&B did it will Storm's suicide. It's almost become a formula. I hope it's not a trend but it sure seems to be.
