I've been familiar with Clifton Davis & Tamara Tunie for most of my life. I'd never even heard of Karla Mosley before the show premiered. I'd never seen Daphnee Duplaix act (though I vividly recall her attractive ass from a photo shoot she did several years ago).

The four of them work beautifully together as a family unit, and they've set a certain tone that's trickled down to the less-experienced members of the cast. The Duprees seem like a REAL family to me, and I really like the warmth and humanity they exude. It's rare for a big soap family to "click" so early in a show's run, but they've done it with complete success in my opinion.

I concur; the casting of the main characters (Anita, Dani, Nicole, and Vernon) was brilliantly done. You can tell there was intention and detail put into casting those roles, and they aced them perfectly. I believe in them as family. Plus, I was not the biggest fan of Karla Mosley in her previous daytime roles and was unfamiliar with Daphnée Duplaix's work prior to Beyond the Gates, and I have become a fan of hers!
