This is probably just a lazy way to remind viewers that Y&R once had a lot of Black characters on the front burner now that Beyond The Gates is on the air. Y&R is number one, but never underestimtate how some shows like to maintain certain demographics and a sense of achievement.

Maybe Shemar's arc on Y&R could lead him to being part of the BtG crossover.

I would have a scene of Malcolm Winters catching up with his protege Andre Richardson.
