Crimson Lights looks ancient as hell.

That's because it IS in Hell. It is literally a Fuddruckers in Hell.

Too bad Metromedia/Fox Television Center is long gone. It's always been my favorite studio space.

LMAOOOO thank you for this! It's what I was thinking of but couldn't put my finger on! What is that stuffed animal or mascot or whatever it is in the back? Is this a Chuck E. Cheese?

They’re likely in limbo until their contract with TV City expires and they get kicked out and have to find new studio space.

I remember Jeanne Cooper talking about how much literal dust the studios had accumulated. She worried that someone was going to get sick. It just doesn't seem like standards have been raised since then.

And once again: Half the cast of BTG grew up watching Victor lol.

I can believe that.

Chuck E. Cheese would be an upgrade!

Other Y&R fans can come after me all they want, I don't care. Crimson Lights is a fugly-ass eyesore of a set that has LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG outlived its' usefulness and needs to be blown up and burned to the ground, Megan McTavish-style.*

The influence of EB/Victor on the African-American community is IMMEASURABLE.

(*Say what you will about that demented piece of work, but she knew how to blow [!@#$%^&*] up real good).

I won't come for you. I just acknowledge my bias. ;P But you ain't wrong on Megan McTavish. )

Very in terms of the influence of EB/Victor on the African-American community.

As do I. I still remember Jaime Lyn Bauer (or maybe another original cast member) talking about how deplorable the conditions were backstage even during the '70's. Like how the actresses had to do wardrobe changes in cold restrooms and stuff like that. But, Television City is an old, drafty barn of a place that seemed antiquated even when I visited there a couple of times back in 2002 or so. (Although, it was paradise compared to the farmers' market next door, lol).

Thank you, lol.

Honestly, if I were Sally McDonald or Josh Griffith, I'd phase out most of the public spaces on Y&R - CL, Society, GCAC, etc. - and return much of the drama to the living rooms and kitchens (and, of course, bedrooms). I know McDonald has done a better job of featuring extras in the background during scenes at all those locales, but it still looks very anemic compared to the "old days" when Y&R had an actual budget to work with.

Crimson Lights is 32 years old. Maintenance costs combined with budget mode is why it looks the way it does.
