I think part is also the actor. Cameron has rarely been a very nuanced actor, shown again with his hissing/eye-bugging when telling Alexis that she won't be seeing Scout over the holidays. It's easy to write for him as a cartoon.

I actually think they had pulled way back on the psychic LSD visions by that point if not eliminated them entirely post-Ron. I am not sure when she last had one. I'd bring 'em back tbh! I liked Psychic Olivia in doses lol. Olivia could do a riff on the recent spate of Eastenders flash-forwards, or the dream/near-death experience of future portents Ava had on LOV years ago: She can see a cryptic vision of events in the coming year at its start. Hey, it's a fun gimmick sometimes.

I think Cameron is as good as the quality of writing given to him. He always works hard. I do think he was uniquely suited for the nuanced power player/cad Mulcahey was molding him into, and he is by his own admission enjoying being the cartoonish black hat they've made him into since. But he could occupy a happier medium.

Like @Vee mentioned, I don't think Olivia has had a vision in at least a decade, but she had them around the time she was dating Sonny. They were violent visions like Sonny bleeding, Lulu getting stabbed by Maxie, Duke being Faison, visions of the water crisis etc. There were a lot of them lol and they were mostly correct. Like Maxie metaphorically stabbed Lulu in the back by lying about being her surrogate.

By the time the breast feeding story happened, I don't think she was having visions anymore as Olivia/LLC was gone for a while since LLC was pregnant IRL. Once she returned, I think that whole aspect of her personality was phased out.

If you ever go back and watch the 50th anniversary episodes they refer to Olivia as the local psychic on the Nurse's Ball red carpet.

The idea was that Sonny was awkwardly trying to reunite with the newly-integrated 'Connie'/Kate, as wallflower Olivia quietly pined away for him while wanting to support her entitled cousin. It was all lousy on top of the dreadful DID story but also clearly just a time-filler for Maurice and LLC, the latter of whom Ron obviously liked a lot. Sonny felt totally marginalized at that moment. I believe Brenda came back in the middle of that for the NB and it was utterly implausible to me that Sonny would still be giving either Falconeri woman the time of day with her on the scene lol. And I say that as someone who has a lot of love for Lisa and Olivia, especially at that time. I think it fizzled out when Sonny started making mob moves again to Olivia's horror (shocker!) and they threaded him into the A.J. mess and got him back with Carly. The character has of course not recovered from murdering A.J.

And yeah, I think Psychic Olivia was one of a number of Carlivati camp flourishes the network clamped down once he was ousted, along with the endless kid quad (Spencer/Emma/Cameron/Joss, and nary an actor among them!) he was forced to stop before being fired. I'd still bring her visions back!

Well...it IS Brenda so...

I admit that while it started silly, I did live for Olivia's visions. And I remember LLC always selling it well. It didn't even seem implausible given some of the things that have happened (and still happening apparently) in PC.

Brenda came back asking Sonny to move with her and be together and talked about her letter that Sonny burned. Honestly a Sonny/Brenda spawn from that letter could always be incoming. But..he said he love Connie/Kate and told Brenda now isn't the time for them. Left it very open, but Sonny totally chose Konnie over Brenda lol. Wild.
