I kept meaning to watch that Julia shows as Sarah Lancashire is such a good actress. If you ever have time, try to watch some of her work as Raquel on Coronation Street.

I only really became acquainted with her as Keira Knightley's handler on Black Doves for Netflix, which I guess got renewed. Cute little spy romp and Knightley and Ben Whishaw are very good for witty if somewhat shopworn material.

He was involved in that Jesus Revolution a few years ago which was a sleeper hit.

Or sleeper CELL, depending on how you look at it. ;)

I don't know if that's where Kelsey Grammer WANTS to go so much as it's where he HAS to go and still be a proud Republican/Trump supporter.

IMO, doing a faith-based film isn't like doing a low-budget "indie" that won't get seen by many, but could become critical and/or awards favorites. I think actors who choose those projects do so with the understanding that it will do next to nothing for their careers. They won't appeal to anyone outside of the Fox NewsMax crowd, nor will they land any nominations or spots on any critics' "Best of" lists (Christian movie critics notwithstanding).

If you're doing it, therefore, it's because 1) you need the bread and 2) you need to get in good with The Man Upstairs. (See Miss Faye Dunaway).

Don't get me started on "The Head," the goofy multi-national thriller series I discovered while on vacation a few years ago hidden deep on HBO, which centers around (you guessed it) a series of murder mysteries all involving a severed head.

The thing is, there was a time when a show on HBO called "The Head" would've been about something entirely different. (Oh, well. Like I always say, there's still Cinemax!)

Even Cinemax is pretty much gone now. I guess people can try to comb through Passionflix, if that's still around.

I do think the reasons you give for faith-based films are the reasons why some like Dean Cain trawl in them.

Say, what about the actors on the four major '80's primetime soaps (DALLAS, DYNASTY, FC and KL)? How many were able to land gigs on other successful shows? Because, the only ones I can think of are Patrick Duffy ("Step by Step"), Heather Locklear (MP and "Spin City"), Nicollette Sheridan ("Desperate Housewives") and Susan Sullivan ("Dharma & Greg" and "Castle").

Buddy Ebsen had a pretty good track record

Davy Crockett on Disney which was a big hit.

Then a one season NBC series Northwest Passage 58/59

Beverly Hillbillies 62-71

Barnaby Jones 73-80

Then finally a regular role in the 3rd season of Matt Houston.

If you mean the biggest names, those come to mind.

Actors who had their moments but weren't long-running stars on their soaps - I'd throw in Sheree J. Wilson (Dallas to Walker Texas Ranger) and Sasha Mitchell (Dallas to Step by Step).

I guess one factor in play is that the lead casts for those shows were already in their 40's or older when the shows debuted.

But yes, the younger cast Charlene Tilton, William Moses, Jamie Rose, Kathleen Beller etc didn't land any other significant gigs.

Lorenzo Lamas had a successful syndicated series with Renegade-5 seasons.

Jamie certainly tried. The infamous Lady Blue...and that guest run on St. Elsewhere which just showed again she couldn't act but was at least memorable (and she got to work with Bruce Greenwood at his wicked best).

The infamous Lady Blue

I still laugh my ass off at the sight of her just hanging out of that car window as she fires her gun at god-knows-what:
