I need a hug...

I got home tonight and got a call from the guy I've been dating. He told me that he got a call from SC Video (for those of you that don't know it, SC is a gay porn studio). He told me that they want him to do a video and he informed me that he is doing it regardless of how I feel, but that he would still date me if I wanted to stay with him.

Naturally, I told him my views and that I don't want to date a porn star knowing that he's sleeping with other people on camera for the world to see. He told me that it didn't make a difference how I felt.

Our conversation ended with him saying he had to go and abruptly hanging up.

I'm really really depressed. I really liked this guy.

Did I do the right thing? :(

Wow, um....Shawn. I'm talking to you about this now but I'll say something on here too. I think that you have the right to voice your objections, but honestly have to ask yourself if breaking up with him is worth it. If it's only going to be him, then I wouldn't make a big deal, but if it's him and others, then that could be a problem.

I think you did the right thing. It's your opinion.

Personally, I wouldn't have a problem if I were seeing someone who got into bigtime porn (which I believe SC is in regards to net porn). Hell, if I had the body and the opportunity, I'd do it. Not like I haven't been naked on stage before (or had sex in front of an audience, but that's another story). However, that said, if you don't feel comfortable with it, then by no means should you have to deal with it. But, clearly, this is something that he feels he needs to do (for his own personal ego or whatever reason).

That said, let me know when his video comes out. I wanna see. B)

Its just hard to deal with. I'll definitely have to think about it.

I mean, watching porn is one thing because I don't feel any emotional connection to anyone enacting those scenes. But him doing it, I dunno.

The fact is, he didn't care about your opinion. He flat out said he was doing it regardless of what you thought, without even allowing so much as a conversation to talk it through. He wasn't even nice about it. He just said, "I'm doing it, regardless. If you don't like it, ciao." That's shitty, and he sounds like an [!@#$%^&*]. You don't deserve to be treated that way, so I say move on. I know, easier said than done when you really like somebody...

Word. :-\.

Also, I mean who HONESTLY would do porn? I know SC is amateur porn or whatever, but it's pretty much the most popular out there. He'll be one Limewire in like two days. You'd be surprised how many people watch and see these things and how quickly it can get around. I always wondered HOW people go on with their lives when do porn....as in people who don't make careers out of it, but like dabble. Haha. They still have to carry on their normal jobs and face their family and friends. I dunno.

Its funny that a lot of people do it. Especially actors who have it come back to bite them in the ass years later after they've made it (ie Simon Rex, Sly Stallone) Even in Soapdom, we have B&B's Lesli Kay who I have seen with my own eyes in a soft core porn movie on Cinemax after dark, as well as Krista Allen (ex-Billie, Days) in Emmanuelle in Space.

I am sorry about your situation Shawn, IMO if he didnt even want to talk about then he isnt worth your time. I know it isnt easy, but he seems like he is just all about himself, and only himself and seems to think the hell with your feelings so I would stay away from him.

I dont look good enough to do sean cody, but I have been offered to do a few others and the main reason I won't do it is having someone that knows me see me getting it on. I just cant deal with thinking about that constantly, so at least for now I won't do any of those sites.

Thanks Kirk. I actually have been offered a three year contract by a major studio in the past year but frankly, like you, I fear that even if it appealed to me, all of my friends would end up seeing it and passing it around like a note in third grade math class. Definitely not worth it.

    • And sadly I think that’s the trivia Both Jeanne Cooper and Eric Braeden went with for years and years. Lol
    • But people were hating so bad on amc and the final year and the ratings sucked. Business wise they made the right call. Oltl who even gained some ratings back and weren’t they higher as GH at one point is a decision and never understood.
    • Ann Williams was the first Maggie Powers on The Doctors but left to have a baby. Maggie was successfully recast so Ann picked up the role of Eunice (Jo's sister on Search for Tomorrow) and played that role for 10 years before being killed of in 1976. That led to her role of Margo on EON.
    • Looking at those totals it seems most contract actors are on a 1 or 2 week average guarantee. I assume contracts are still operating on 13 week cycles so you would have to know the particular actors contract starting date to work out their guarantee. The question remains as to what actors listed as contract are actually recurring? Bryton ?
    • Yep, that scene was at the conclusion of the Derek Thurston vs George Packard storyline, when Kay decided neither of them should run Chancellor.  By the time she put Victor in charge, Victor had been on the show for months & months with his Rolls Royce, his ranch, and Newman Enterprises.  SONY released some Y&R "trivia cards" in the late 1980s, and one of the questions was "who brought Victor Newman to Genoa City?" The answer on the back of the card is "Kay Thurston, to run Chancellor Industries", and it's a wrong answer lol.
    • I think someone said it did exist, but I can't remember.
    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
