Holy s*it 😮

I just realized; I was right about how that mf’er Ron Carlivati was going to write Mike Manning’s character in episodes that he broke down.

How convenient that the biphobe would write the bisexual actor’s character as selfish or unfeeling 🤬🤬

I mentioned months ago that Anita could have been  somewhat supportive of Hayley-seeing her as misguided and somewhat of a victim of Bill- to give another flavor to her character but that ship has sailed. Intentionally or not, the Duprees come of as sanctimonious and hypocritical.

I actually think this will happen with Anita and Leslie, at least I hope. They don't necessarily have to be besties but sometimes some humanity and caring can take place between the two before they're back to butting heads.

Oh, I agree it's not simple.  And it was played with complexity, as it should have been.  But Smitty still used Martin. No way to deny that.  I only wish Martin would have said, "I give up," walked out the door, and slammed it behind him. Leaving Smitty to stew in his own juices.  The entire thing is as complex as Hell.  But Smitty is certainly no longer the poor put-upon victim in this relationship.

and thats exactly why they did it to "Dirty up" Smitty so to speak, he's now on equal footing with Martin

Imagine equating what Bradley did to Martin to what Martin did to Bradley (and their family) as "equal footing". We have lost the plot, I see. 🙄

Well, I have said that the show has written their characters as shades of gray. And I love that they continue to do so even when some of said people drive me crazy.

It's not equal footing but I think Smitty has less moral high ground. You don't use somebody for sex especially not your spouse. The anger should apply to all aspects of the relationship. With that said, Martin made a terrible error in judgment, but Smitty is just being selfish and spiteful.

I mean...tbf...I'm sure this does happen more often than people seem to think. I can see it as a moment of weakness...which is a normal human flaw.

I do too. Soaps are built on moral gray complex characters.  That goes for our protagonists and antagonists

Exactly!!! I know Vee mentioned the idea of the powerful family that does light and dark things dating all the way back to the 80s (heck, Yellowstone AND GH today comes to mind) has always been a powerful soap template so there has been nothing about the Duprees that irks me nearly as much as it does most of the board. I hope that to please them, the forthcoming second rival family we know will eventually come evens it out for them.

Yes this makes more sense than what I posted 👏

Brad-lee hit it and quit it with his estranged spouse, made it clear they're not back yet, and we're calling it some low act on par with Martin's cover-up of murdering a man?? To 'dirty him up?' That's 'equal footing?'

Not even close. Some of y'all need to log off and meet new people. This shít like 'one night' happens all the time in struggling relationships. And worse lol
