I'm speculating John Brady Black, and they'll call him JB for shortย ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Agreed.

They needed to establish a much better and much stronger reason why Sophia left the baby at the firehouse. One that didn't make her look a villain

OR

Make her a villain out for vengeance on the system that failed her.ย ย

NOT

A postpartum vixen yearning for the love of Tate Black.

Javi and Leo. Not only that, but just an hour after delivery. In what frickin universe....

They also have no stable home, and they live with a convicted murderer, and her brother who is an FBI agent who leaves his gun around for people to steal.

I don't know.ย  At this point she probably feels that the less people know the better.ย  This way, nobody can question Tate.ย  Sophia doesn't want anyone to try to manipulate her or Tate to taking the child back.ย  She just wants the child placed safely, and since nobody would help, she chose the firestation safe haven.ย  She chose anonymity so that the child would not be sent back to her.ย  A reasonable choice for a teen.

Okay, you make good points. But, I don't have to like it. (Not a reflection on you, on the show.)

Sarah changed the narrative of why she lied. She was fine with Xander nearly killing Brady last year. This was all about putting a leash on him because he had too much power at Titan. She made the decision to lie when he was first talking about taking Dimera and told Philip his job was to stop things like that or she'd pull the plug on their deal. It was all about controlling Xander. Period

I agree Sophia was wonderful today. I felt everything with her. And I am also appalled at Leo and Javi fostering for all the reasons stated.ย

I don't think the show made Sophia out to be the villain, personally.ย  It was clearly a snap, heightened response to giving birth and feeling trapped, but I did think they gave Sophia a point of view that made it seem like a panicked move.ย  They did show her with a trash bag leaving so it could have been worse. I really don't know how she's going to explain this away in the general sense though.ย  I am sure people will notice there is no baby in her belly or baby in the house.

All the adults surrounding her let her down.ย  Sophia was clear about her decision and everyone, including Tate, were relying on her to figure it out.ย  Sophia couldn't get an abortion, Sophia agreed to an adoption that fell through, she got a new lawyer, she had to miss everything about her senior year, she was on bed rest, and had to run around 9 months pregnant when Brady told Melinda to eff off while Tate was playing footsie with Holly.ย  Tate tried to be helpful, but it was all a wish and prayer they'd find a family to adopt instead of real action on his part.

I am sure in the future the show will make her out to be the villain, but I just saw her as a very scared young girl today who thought she had no options.

As for Steve deciding the little boy can't be in foster care and giving the baby to LEO and Javi.ย  Whatever, show.ย  They did say Sophia had 14 days to claim the child more than once so perhaps they can sort out a better solution (that's not Sophia having to keep the child).

I agree, she not a villain for placing her baby into safe care, given that she had literally no other available options.

My complaint is that DAYS will use this as a motive to make Sofia into a villain.ย  As the third part of the Holly/Tate/Sofia/DougIII squad, she's clearly coded as the interloper and villain.ย  And I am concerned that today's episode will be used to explain her motive.ย ย

The idea that Sofia could ever be romantically interested in Tate, after he betrayed her trust with the adoption (by changing his mind at the last minute), dumped her hours after they had sex the first time, and then he will probably blame her for a desperate choice, is logically absurd.ย ย

In retrospect, Brady's threat to Melinda made no sense.ย  Melinda was offering restitution, Sofia agreed, Brady had no business getting involved.ย ย

Technically, I don't think Tate has ever waivered on adoption.ย  ย I think Sophia is smart and knows he has doubts, but I don't think he vocalized that to her in a concrete way.

I can't really get a take on Sophia/Tate.ย  It really doesn't seem like she's romantically interested in him.ย  She was 9 months pregnant so that probably also isn't her first thought lol. I was slightly inclined to believe Aaron might be the dad as well.

Sophia also has this whole other world we haven't been privy to-a dad, brothers, an entire family that we haven't seen at all.ย  The show really hasn't given Sophia a great point of view.ย  Her actions are just catalyst for other people to react to more than about her life.

Idk, I dislike the recast Sophia and don't think she's great.ย  I still like her better than Holly.ย  I am just on today's episode I didn't see her as a villain and felt for her thinking how scared, alone, and desperate she must have felt.

See, I would argue that they put Sofia in such ridiculous situations that Meryl Streep would struggle in the role. For example, given how little we know about Sofia's home life, the relationship with her mother was inexplicable. Every scene, we wondered why Amy got to call the shots. And it must be rough for a relatively young and inexperienced actor to try to pull off a scene that is inherently illogical.

Deidre Hall can carry off the absurdity of a scene occurring the day after her husband's funeral, involving the intersecting stories from her various on-screen grandkids over witnessing a murder. But that takes 40 years of practice.๐Ÿ˜‰

Madelyn Kientz was much better and had more depth.ย  I think Rachel Boyd was decent today though.ย  It's also probably hard to act with a towel as a baby lol.

Sophia's entire homelife confuses me.ย  It's clear her parents are still married, they have a whole family, but we never got to see the dad or her brothers.ย  It would have been a lot easier for the narrative if Sophia's dad left or passed away to make Amy super protective and domineering.ย ย

Today was ok. Some of the costume choices were a little... ehhh though.

It's the 4th of July, why were Tate and Xander in long sleeve shirts? I mean, I like long sleeve shirts, but not on the 4th of July lol. And, why was Rachel dressed like Little Orphan Annie?ย ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

And there was wayyyy too much Javi and Leo. Even though we got a hint as to why Javi wanted the baby, the two of them having him is probably gonna hurt the Sophia storyline more than anything. And like I said before, something like Sophia seeing Tate and Holly get back together, or realizing that Tate still cares more about being with Holly than he does about Sophia or the baby, should have been the thing that prompted her to leave the baby at the firehouse. Tate and Holly's scenes today would have been the perfect time for something like that to have happened. Btw, I have to admit, I rolled my eyes a little bit at that ending.ย

But there were a lot of good scenes and conversations too.ย

As surprised as I am that Maggie has become this anti-Xander, I still like seeing them go head to head, and that she ended up comforting him in the end. They work well together both as friends and enemies. And it's a very good use of Maggie. And I liked the Brady/Sarah scenes too, and how Brady used his own history with Kristen in order to soothe Sarah's fears about co-parenting with Xander. They do have some chemistry. Nothing crazy, but there's something there. The little family bonding moment with the two of them and Rachel was nice too.

My biggest takeaway from today was that it's a nice thing that Tate spared a thought for how Sophia will react to his getting back together with Holly. And, about that, how many times have they done this? Is it my imagination or do they break up but get back together, like it was nothing more than choosing ice cream flavors?!!

However, with the exception of TOO MUCH LEO, it was a good day.

I am more than a little suspicious that they are going to "foster" that baby for most of the summer. I hope I am wrong.

After today it seems like Sophia will be the villain.ย  I hope Melinda doesn't come up with a harebrained scheme and says the baby died or something.ย ย

I am sure Rafe, Gabi, and Ari are thrilled the non-rent paying boarders Leo and Javi are bringing an infant home-and using Rafe's foster license to do it lol.ย  It seems like it would be very easy for Ari to put things together when/if Sophia lies, as she knows Sophia, knows she's pregnant, and, well, the baby will be half-Asian.ย ย

I still think Holly/Tate are selfish.ย  Tate gave Sophia a minor thought and then agreed to go to the lake with Holly because labor takes a long time.ย  Ugh...

I don't understand Xander thinking he has any edge on Sarah because she lied a few times lol.ย ย

Okay, I still don't see it, but here's your chance to try to convince me. Just who is it that you think is going to judge Sophia & make her, of all things, a villain? I'll wait.ย

If Holly & Tate are selfish for going to the lake on the 4th of July, then, tell me please, what if any, teenager is not selfish? What they are doing is natural, usual, not overtly anti-social. Just kids being kids. Is this not allowed now in Salem? Lady Whistleblower needs to come out of retirement to report on this expose!!

I am not trying to convince anyone.ย ย

Sophia lying about the circumstances of the birth and her wearing a pregnancy pad is already setting her up for a fall.ย  Melinda has stupid plans.ย  This will all blow up.

Tate got a girl pregnant, she's due shortly and on bedrest (as far as he knows), they have no adoptive family lined up and he's going to the lake.ย  Sure, Ari and Holly can chill at the lake, but it's time for Tate to put his big boy pants on and step up and help find an adoptive family instead of having fun.ย  It's not "kids being kids" when adult choices were made and that started this whole thing in the first place.ย  Sophia doesn't get to go to the lake and be selfish-her entire world just changed.

Hahaย  -- missed opportunities to have a crossover scene of Sophia borrowing Sarah's fake pregnancy pads.ย  At least that would explain how an 18-year-old would have easy access to movie special effects props.ย ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was thinking Sophia just borrowed one of Kristen'sย ๐Ÿ˜‚.ย  You know Kristen still has them even being past a certain age-just in case.
