It is funny that Stephanie and Philip still hide/blush/get embarrassed at the sight of each other.  Meanwhile, Kate's pouring coffee for Rafe at the pub as if they're only casual acquaintances.

Although, if Kate blushed every time she saw one of her former lovers, she'd be permanently red.

To be fair, more than half of them are dead now.

Poor Philip.

I appreciate how seriously his and Xander’s scenes were taken though. It felt like real drama and not like a big joke. You could actually feel Xander’s pain and anger. It adds another dynamic to the Kiriakis family storylines and I’m looking forward to the effects that this is going to have across the canvas. I can see them weaving Kate and Roman into this storyline as well. And it would be really nice if this somehow helped cause conflict for Stephanie/Alex too, especially because of what Alex did today. With any luck, Stephanie will be furious about it.

And I’m glad that Sarah has Maggie to confide in about her secret.

I also liked seeing Steve and Shawn (and their matching jackets 😂😂😂) continue to be on the case. Kevin, revealing everything to them is another interesting turn in this storyline. Plus, it seems the writing has improved for Shawn as well.

Is Kevin supposed to be gay and roommate is a euphemism?

I really appreciate that DOOL is showing the result of Xander's violence. It would've been absurd if Philip was just walking around with a makeup-dept-special black eye.  That beating was graphic, and a great example of what Daytime can do without guns. I also like that at least for today they believe in the rule of law and are going to investigate Xander, rather than arresting him right away.

Where's the follow-up on the hospital bids?  Suddenly the members of the board are all off doing other stuff.

Jada saw Shawn called in fake-sick and there were no consequences?

Kevin dated Mimi in high school.  That doesn't mean he's not gay, but that wasn't indicated in the Last Blast Reunion either.

Although I believe Kevin was well off in the Last Blast Reunion so it's strange he has a "roommate", but you know Salem living space is hard to come by lol

Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.

All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come.

How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?

Today was painful (especially for Philip).

I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them.

I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander

That thought crossed my mind too but I really don't want Kate to cheat on Roman 😂

And Paul Telfer does it so well

I really like Paul Telfer a lot.   But I loathe Xander!

I've never cared for Xander, and I find him and Sarah so boring together.

I've been liking the writing for them lately. Positioning them, and Johnny/Chanel as the two main, frontburner couples was a really good idea.

And those two couples cover all the main families on the show. As long as good story is happening than I'm happy to continue on with them together.

Xander and EJ are villains.  I don't like them being written as romantic leads.  My opinion.

I think both of them have been given balanced, nuanced, and honest writing about who they both are, flaws and all, for months now. It's not so basic or black and white.
