May I get a moment of recognition for waiting until now to mention the bizarre time/space continuum that brought Hope to and from Salem?  Was that the result of Julie's wish?

I hope someone IRL holds an 8×10 photo of me like that some day. (that was some prime soapy action, and it looked a bit painful, Julie's not a young woman, and it takes some strength to hold a frame while maintaining an arm extension.

Should we assume that the meth-heads are related to the loan-sharks that threatened Doug3 and Holly?

Note: Zach, Holly, Belle, and Ceara's classmates turned out to be criminals - it's starting to make sense why so many families choose out of state boarding schools -- the Salem Public School System is sketchy.

I am not Jason, but I shared your confusion.  I thought Shawn mentioned he had to get on a flight to see Bo a few days ago.  If he was just in Salem this whole time Shawn could have easily stopped by as could everyone else that was super concerned.  I don't think they would move someone in that dire condition on a plane or anything, so it seems like a continuity error IMO.

I didn't know where he was, so I shared your confusion in that regards, and then I shared my confusion and the other fans confusion about where Bo was and asked the publicist this:

Question: Is the name of the set "Bo's Hospital Room?" (if not, what is it?) Fans were trying to figure out today where Bo exactly was...is he nearby Salem now or still overseas somewhere?

Answer: yes, in Salem

I spent the afternoon coming up with an alternative story idea for John's death.

Suppose, Orpheus wasn't caught after Marlena, Steve, Paul and Andrew foiled the nuclear bomb plot, but took John as his prisoner and went on the lam. Eventually, it gets revealed that he was the one who had the sepsis drug stolen, not some random junkie. And he uses that, and John as bait to lure Marlena, Steve, Shawn, etc. to where he's holding John. While they're all searching for Orpheus, John and the drug, Shawn manages to find the drug and rushes off to save Bo, but immediately after that, Orpheus captures Steve and Marlena and ties them up in a room with John, who's also tied up and weak but has a bomb strapped to his chest. As the bomb ticks down, Orpheus explains that he's finally going to kill them all, once and for all. But just as he's about to leave the room, and the timer on the bomb reaches zero, John breaks free of his restraints and attacks Orpheus. They struggle, fall out a window and the bomb explodes, killing both John and Orpheus.

Idk if that's the best idea in the world, but it seems to work for me. Not only would it have John die as a hero, but it would also rid us of Orpheus, who I hope is completely forgotten about now. Even though Marlena, Steve, Roman, etc. are still on canvas, he has no purpose anymore now that John is dead. And it just doesn't feel right to me that John is gonna be dead, while Orpheus is still alive. In some ways, it almost feels like, after all these years, he beat John. Which is total crap. If Stefano couldn't beat John, there's no way this pain in the ass could do it

I'm going to rationalize it with this bit of irony: in a world filled with facial transplants, computer brain chips, and prisms, drugs are the only crime an international spy hero cannot solve. (too ABC afterschool special?)

This entire week has been really good!  First starting with Xander beating up Philip.  I too didn't expect to see Xander get so violent, by kicking Philip numerous times. And I didn't expect Philip to tell Xander that "Sarah knew," which lead to Wednesday's wonderful scenes with Xander/Sarah confronting each other.  I think those scenes were definitely Lindsay's best acting that she's done on the show.  I'm not really a huge fan of Sarah/Xander as a romantic couple - I don't hate them either.  But Lindsay and Paul do have a ton of acting chemistry and these scenes proved that.

I don't read spoilers so I had no idea Bo/Hope were going to be on today.  That was a nice surprise.  Same with Ciara showing up. I totally forgot Ciara has two kids with Ben. I liked how she talked about them and Zack.  I've always liked Victoria Konefal and thought she did a good job today. And yes, I didn't mind seeing Ciara's usual cleavage shot during those emotional scenes. Thank you, wardrobe department!  LOL

Could the lead up to John's death have been better?  Sure.  But I didn't hate it.  I liked that John's final act was saving Bo's life.  And that full circle moment at the hospital with Marlena was poetic.

I was starting to get a bit teary eyed during today's episode.  Next week is going to be tough.

I don't know if John getting blown up to pieces would've been the right idea.

    • Pretty much my exact sentiments. The good DAYS are here again! We are so back! Rejoice! Viva la Salem! (Am I being too extra?) To add to this, Ari being immediately dick hungry made me instantly like her.  I think Julie's scenes today added so much, too. They could have easily not been part of the episode, but it just added to the emotional stakes. Was her flashback part of the CoD story? And that little scene Maggie had with Philip earlier in the week added so much heart to drama of that story. Matriarchs are so back! When Kayla had to tell Marlena that John was hurt again, I couldn't help but think back to when she went off on Bo for leaving Roman to go after Stefano. I wonder if they'll have her go off on someone like Kayla or Steve and initially blame them for John's death. It should be stated Kristian Alfonso still looks amazing, but I did think it was ridiculous that she was wearing a Chanel suit to go help with the dangerous mission, but it was good to see her be part of it while we had Kayla and Marlena sitting back and waiting for the best.
    • Meg Bennett as a contestant on Three On A Match (1971). I remember Meg saying on a 80's Pyramid appearance that she was a contestant on this show and said it furnished her first apartment in New York as a struggling actress. She started in SFT in 1973.

I wonder how Janice Lynde would have been as Patti ?  Robert Reed seemed pissy in everything he did outside of the Brady projects. Ironically, he thought the BB was beneath his talents a serious actor.

    •  Audra and Imani fighting over Nate could’ve been fun…if written by the BTG writers of course!
    • IKR. Silk Press Sheila has no chill.

    • I don't think she has at all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't she say her mother passed?   Don't get me started. Damian should have been kept as head of Dumas and we question his motives. The story up til the Dumas plot twist was great, refreshing, and had twists and turns that the Dumas twist was just unnecessary and seem to be made so the story could be hijacked by everyone NOT Devon/Nate/Lily so they have something to do. Even now, that part of the story...and their involvement in it...feels like an afterthought.  Yep. Pretty much.
