BTG, Y&R, B&B: April-May 2025 soccer disrupting CBS soap broadcasts

Tues. April 29, Wed. April 30, Tues. May 6, and Wed. May 7:
UEFA European Soccer Champions League Semifinals 

These will be broadcast live in the European evenings,
which is 3-5pm Eastern USA, plus a 2-3pm Eastern prematch show.

Total timeframe: three hours 2-5pm EDT on those four dates.
On CBS only.  Does not affect Canadian networks.

This preempts BTG in all timezones, 
and will partially preempt Y&R and/or B&B in Mountain/Pacific/Alaska/Hawaii timezones.

NOTE:  in 2022, 2023, and 2024, this happened:
Y&R and B&B were broadcast in fullness but only in Eastern and Central timezones -- and they were partially preempted in western timezones.  Thus it was considered to be an official airing and not a full preemption.  Individual CBS stations in western timezones provided alternate times of day night for broadcast of the CBS soaps, or airings on sister channels in nearby regions.  Anyone unable to watch at alternate time/station could watch B&B and Y&R on cbs.com and ParamountPlus.  Otherwise you'd miss the episodes.

In 2025, it's different because of BTG.  BTG will be preempted in all timezones.  Will the BTG epsiodes "still go on" but only virtually via cbs.com and paramountplus -- or will it be a full official preemption?
Unknown at this time.

How would this affect Y&R and B&B? Will they still air in Eastern & Central timezones as in prior years? From TV Listings, they will still air in Eastern and Pacific time, unless there is a change.

REMINDER that this affects B&B and Y&R in USA only on CBS -- in some timezones.
For Canada:
Broadcasts of B&B on CTV, and Y&R on Global, would be airing normally in all timezones.

The old reliable "zap2it.com" TV Listings website went out of business in March 2025.

I looked up overnight airings of B&B and Y&R for some CBS channels in Mountain and Pacific Timezones,
I have been trying alternate tv listings sites that are attached to each separate CBS station’s individual website – to seek listings of B&B or Y&R – and I don’t know how updated those are.
The station listings do show the BTG preemptions for the soccer pre-match show and the soccer matches,
but don't always display the alternate times to air B&B or Y&R.  

Also trying a couple of other tv listings websites, which have better information

The question remains:

BTG will be preempted in all timezones.  
Will BTG still have new episodes on those dates, but only virtually via cbs.com and paramountplus
-- or will it be a full official preemption?
Unknown at this time.
If BTG is preempted on CBS, will it still air on CHCH in Canada?  Unknown at this time.

*** Manually set your devices to record all old and new episodes of CBS soaps through May 9th.  That way you can catch anything that airs at an odd time of day or night.

Or just watch on cbs.com or paramountplus.com

 

update: Listings for CHCH.com in Canada:

However on the affected dates, it shows no BTG,
and, instead, three episodes of Facts of Life from 2-3:30pm.

Just a point of reference since it doesn't seem to be cleared up in the thread, but Beyond the Gates will only air three episodes next week as it will be preempted for UEFA coverage on Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30, exactly the same way the network preempted The Talk in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Therefore, no episodes will be aired in any time zone or any country on those days, including Canada. What CHCH will program in the slot on those two days is not yet clear.

I'm really glad it's a full preemption for BTG, so that broadcast viewers don't have to scramble to find it at odd times.
