I don't know. At least Ed Scott attempted to give both sets more space so I'm hoping that if it is new, it will be more in a style that is Abbott-centric but with as much space as the restored Newman ranch set.

It seems that once we got the larger Newman Ranch, the number of sets in use decreased.

They are now down to 3 sets per ep-and pretty much one scene/conversation lasts the entire episode.

So even if the Abbott set is the same size, there will still be fewer sets being used.

What happened to them moving studios? Is that still on the agenda?Maybe that's another reason why we have set deprivation. Perhaps some sets have been store away in prep for the move and/or they are operating in a smaller space for the time being?

Given how they handled the third Newman Ranch set, I'm feeling semi-confident in the so-called "remodel".

I doubt the Crimson Lights set is changing; it's been the one [pretty consistent] community space since its debut. I believe, during the Mal Young era, they updated it a bit, which it did need.

The move has either been delayed and/or canceled. They're staying put, for now.

Is this the last of Traci for this cycle??? Are you kidding me???

If it is, what a terrible, lazy, unexciting end to the Alan/Martin story. Why aren't we seeing any fallout? This is absolutely nuts.

OOooo that was soooo good and ANOTHER cliffhanger, too?? I'm so scared of what Friday entails when I get there. I'm happy the momentum is back and just right on moving.

Traci is giving a masterclass, and I love that BM is getting her time in the sun. Her confrontation with Alan was awesome to watch unfold. And then just having Jack (and a returned Ashley) so nearby due to Diane's remodeling was well-timed. And the highlight that I really loved was when Jack and Ashley made it to Traci's hotel room just in time before Alan figured out that she really did have her phone on. The look that BM had on her face while her words were saying something else so Alan does not realize how scared she was...was flawless. And then watching Jack and Ashley quickly cover...with the perfect excuse of Ashley wanting to see her sister since she just got back...was just PERFECT. And then Traci confronted Alan in public so Alan (if he's Martin) will not react. Just so many good moments.

One thing that I continue to say about the new designer, she definitely has brought more colors into the cast. And of course leather. Yes, Ashley, I'm looking at you.

But it was just noticeable to me in the Nick/Sharon scenes. And do I need to mention Chance and the white shirt?

Speaking of them, good to see that Chance was getting ever closer to the truth. Though I admit that I did worry about him when he walked up to Alan. And then Traci walked up...smh.

I liked the Phyllis/Summer scenes. And I agree with her so I loved she was anti-Kyle.

So Traci is leaving town. Bye bye Beth. Thanks for your service. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

As for Phyllis' trauma, I could care less. After all she's been through and the stunts she's pulled for her to be so bothered by this...

At least La Stafford is having to tone down her performance.

Yep. Just a complete THUD of an ending.

Not only did we miss any lasting effects, we didn't get any effects at all.

What happened with Alan/Martin? Why not give us insight into his planning, into his mind? Where are the confrontation scenes with Traci and Ashley and Jack? Where were the scenes with Chance?

ALL of it is bewildering.

Meh.

Yep, @Antoyne. You were so right about Friday's episode. Outside of the Sally/Audra scenes, that was very much a 'hunni, what is this?' of an episode. Not even any follow-up. Though I did like the recap between Victor and Victoria.

But the good...

4-10. There were so many good moments and camera angles during the climax to the Tracy storyline. The standouts for me was right before Jack lunged at Alan and the camera had all three Abbotts in frame and they were all reacting separately, but together at the same time. Such a great sign of great actors and actresses. And the police station scene when Chance stood in the door (with CF looking hot AF) and moves away to reveal the 'two ladies' he was letting in was Sharon and Phyllis...and Phyllis's look was so 'if looks could kill.'

So it really WAS Martin. And Alan really is dead? I love the tag-team Sharon and Phyllis did on him. And I love that now Traci knows. But it might have been too neatly tied up for me...though I liked how it came together. And it sounds like I'm going to be annoyed when I get around to watching Monday's episode. But there's still so many questions. So Martin was Alan the whole time? He really fell in love with Traci? Alan is dead dead? How does Traci move on?

Well...at least Sally and Audra got the whole of the Friday episode. And Audra looked GOOD. They both did so kudos, Designer!! But I can't believe that Audra would risk her relationship with Nate. Especially with the secret about her and Holden out there a ticking time bomb.

A good week only let down by Friday's episode.

    • Its realistic for Dani and  true of how the character thinks and operates
    • Random takes: - What was even the point of that jeweler guy? Also—Dani was borderline harassing him. - I know I’m probably in the minority here, but I want Jacob and Kat to happen. I need something messy to completely dismantle the Duprees—and Katomas just isn’t cutting it.  - I officially can’t stand Jacob and his wife. Same goes for Anita and Vernon. - Hayley’s corset was just as ugly as it looked uncomfortable. - I genuinely don’t remember when or how Derek and Ashley reconciled—and I’m someone who didn’t even mind their storyline! LMAO. - Tuesday’s episode was a mess. - Dani finding out about Hayley’s pregnancy and immediately thinking, “She’s faking it”—huh?! What writer thought that was a realistic reaction? I get denial, but that leap was absurd. I agree the ‘Leslie Victorious’ moment was way OTT. But hey, at least I wasn’t yawning. The following episode, where she handed over her daughter’s last few belongings was much better. - I can’t with the constant back-and-forth between Orphey Gene’s and the Country Club. I forgot this was such a soap trope, but even back in my loyal viewer days (late ‘90s, early 2000s), it wasn’t this bad. While GH has a ton of beautiful sets, we’re stuck with the same three—and half of them are ugly. Also: it’s been way too long since we had a party, gala, or any kind of event. I know the Richardsons’ anniversary gala (back in late April) has had a big ripple effect, but I was kinda getting used to those large-scale episodes. Fingers crossed they don’t go with Guza.
    • The horrific comments execs and writers make when they justify rape storylines or keeping rapists as love interests is just so icky. I remember Ron Carlivati's comments about the reraping of Marty storyline on OLTL. Made my skin crawl.  No matter what you think of her, Susan Lucci could have demanded front burner storylines but she never did. She was happy to be part of an ensemble. I never got that vibe from Zimmer.  For me, Reva was just not a character I cared that much about after a certain point no matter how talented Zimmer is/was. I think Zimmer had a keener eye for what made a good storyline, but she was less willing to take a backseat if it meant someone else got to shine. I'm trying to recall if she ever mentions Michelle Forbes in her book--one of the few times the viewers did not care about Reva in a storyline. My sense is if she did, it was probably some backhanded remark about how she had to show Forbes the ropes.
    • GH was good? I havent watched since Joss went away to do her traininig and Lulu had just called Brooklyn out for having Dante's baby and not telling him
    • BTG: A-  DAYS: B+  Eastenders: C
    • There was a rumor that Jean will die and that’s probably why she’s back then
    • There has been some confusion about Michael & facial burns. Please see this post: https://bsky.app/profile/shallotpeel.bsky.social/post/3lqkrryu54226 I've chosen to put this here instead of the Classic Thread because it is now with the appearance of recast Michael that this has come up. Different places online, including at least one podcast, remarks have been made about how remarkable it is that he is without facial scarring. Other fans say it was clear from the first that he did not have facial burns. What is included in this post is 2 screengrabs where you can see his face at the hospital & a very quick edit of that day in the hospital.
    • Put me in the LOVE KMH camp. As a poster alluded to above, her detractors seem to come from people who first experienced the 80s Emily actress. And that's often the case with soaps, myself included. I enjoy the original actor so much that I just never take to the recast. However, KMH played Emily far longer than the original - for almost 20 years - and when she had great material, she was great. I get the sense she didn't like playing the whiny oh-woe-is-me Emily which was all the material she got from about 1996 until she took over the Intruder in late '99/early '00 and got to play a stronger kiss-ass woman who didn't care what anyone thought of her. (Some would call that a bitch but, if a man was in that role, he'd just be called a smart and savvy businessman.) Her relationship with Hal was great. The transformation was done realistically and I thoroughly enjoyed those years the best out of all. Once the writers decided to break up those two, they went back to writing Emily half the time as whiny and pathetic. I preferred when the writers made her stronger.
    • Hahaha - I do. I've always been the type, though, that can't miss anything. I get FOMO, so I'll not skip episodes or fast forward anything. There are only a few TV shows I've dropped because they got so bad vs. sticking it out to the end.  The promise that GL 1997 is better is what keeps me going. I especially want to see the fallout of Blake's lie about her twins and then Annie's descent which I believe won Watros's Emmy.
    • Rita's rape is an episode i constantly search on YouTube hoping one day that it will show up. I always feel like I may have seen it, but I was only 6 at the time and can never figure any of the things I have vague recollection of
