You know I brought up just that story, based on truth, weeks ago.

One thing I feel I have to say, a woman crying in an elevator?!!! Really? This to you spells insanity?!!  if that's the way you think, then I shudder to think how you are with an ordinary person who is grieving. I know I would not look to you for any kind of empathy.

It would be. While the writers aren't going to have a core character turn into a murderer they certainly have borrowed from the harassing behavior Broderick engaged in and how her husband achieved his success with her help.

What I can see happening is that Bill's shady legal antics get him shot and Dani gets blamed for it but no one believes her. And of course her gun will be the weapon.

Yep, the Tomas actor is pretty damn awful. Casting made some bad decisions. That "So you're a virgin" talk was so bad.

Why have George be so dumb -- giving Dani the security code? I hate that kind of writing.

Part of the mistake here isn't even the actor. Why have him still in the hospital? And walking around an IV? For what??? He would've been released after the concussion check. Instead we get Ashley (apparently with little nursing to do) meeting with Andre and his camera by the front desk. Why would Andre hang there?

Yeah, I know, he likes Ashley. Sorry, the whole thing is awkward as hell.

Dani... yawn.  One note character played by a one note actress.

Andre/Ashley/Derek = Not working

Hayley has potential, but I would love to see her mixing it up with other characters in town.. and not just isolated to Bill and Dani.

Tamara is a great actress.. is that why she's given the most cringey words to speak because she has the ability to make them sound good?

By far. I'm sad that I have to complain, but all the negatives mentioned here about today's show are true. Overall, it was bad. Carlivati's name on the script only gives those of us who dislike him a reason to nod our heads.

-- I want Dani to be crazyfun. I don't want her to be batsh_it crazy. I cannot tell what the writers are going for.

-- Why make Dani so insane...and so insanely stupid...as to go to Bill and Hayley's house with that gift? Why not have her do stealth things to get back at them?

-- I guess that honeymoon lasted less than 48 hours.

-- The Tomas actor is worse than the Derek actor. Ashley is not much better, and I still can't understand why Andre is hot for her.

-- The "weekly family dinner" where no one shows up? And Anita doesn't get pissed?

Today was a chore. When purse cat manages to give off more emotion than a majority of the humans in the scene, I should have known today was going to be an issue.

I don't think is anything to Derek / Ashley / Andre story to invest in. I think the show might already be shifting to an Eva / Andre angle which would be in their best interest. I'd be much more intersted in trying out Andre / Shanice. I cannot really find any angle of the current configuration I enjoy. Andre / Dani doesn't feel longterm, to me, and I don't hate Andre in theory. He's just drifting, which makes sense to an extent because he is suppose to have spent so much time abroad.

Dani getting the code from George the security guard was just dumb. I think there might have been a better angle to explore with Jan, Ashley's mother who cleans houses, if they had established she had been hired as she is already Team Dani. This is only going to get Dani deeper in trouble with her legal proceedings, but whatever. She seems very undeterred. I almost wish they would go really unhinged and have had her live streaming the whole thing to her merry cult of online worshippers. Initially, I thought leaving the bottle was actually going to lead to something cathartic, but then in just descended into another Dani moment.

I like Kat, but the whole set up for her date was odd. At her parents house was a choice. I would rather they have just redecorated Ashley's studio for the occasion. Tomas is rough. I want to like their romance, but this first date just wasn't it for me.

After a terrific set of episodes this week, to lose the energy on a Friday is a disappointment. Not having any follow up to Eva / Leslie today was probably the biggest disappointment.

I am quite aware of the family tree. Given that Eva's paternity isn't definitive yet and Andre was acting a bit shady week 1, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them isn't a Richardson. But considering the fact that Andre was raised as a surrogate son of Nicole and Ted, and he had no problem bedding down with Auntie Dani then I don't think the cousin angle is something that would give him the ick.

No one. Just like "which one of these things does not fit with the other?" To the thread. To anyone being too serious about a character that can function 100% successfully who is used to express heightened drama & camp. 2 extremes: golf club attack on property & woman weeping in an elevator.

    • Which could make sense , except that we have seen Mariah function for years w/o any real residue pain from her upbringing. Josh decides to randomly make it a thing, when a good writer might foreshadow that for months. It's not like he's just arrived at the show. He's been there for years . Everything seems to be thought out only a few weeks ahead. It's like Phyllis all freaky from being kidnapped when she has done a million other things that didn't seem to bother her at all.
    • Unrelated, sort of, but he looks absolutely nothing like Amanda Setton or Dominic Zamprogna so it's kind of hilarious they decided to make Gio their kid.  It's very clear this was not the original origin story for Gio when they cast him. He is a very handsome guy though.
    • I tend to agree, although going back to OLTL, Frank has so often cast guys who are meant to be attractive yet come across as cold and dead, I'm surprised he managed to get one who has a bit of a pulse.
    • For all I care, the boy can parade around in a g-string.  It won't make this show suck any less.
    • AMC was about a decade later so things may have changed by then, although maybe they never approached her anyway. She joined Santa Barbara in 1985, when they didn't seem interested in bringing back Hope. SB ended in late 1992, so JFP could have asked her back, but I doubt she did. For as much as JFP clearly had some use for Rick Hearst given that she hired him on GH and kept him around as often as she could, I don't think she ever used Alan-Michael well. I can't see Elvera as Delia, but she could have worked well as Faith - she had a glimpse of a strong personality alongside warmth, which only one Faith ever managed (Catherine Hicks).
    • IIRC, FC reruns aired for awhile on Lifetime, way before the network became the Women in Peril Channel, lol.
    • PAM!! YES!!! You have jogged my memory. She worked at Cedars. She's mentioned in a write-up of Tim's history in the show. It says she was a nurse, but I seem to remember she was a secretary at Cedars, working for either Ed or Sarah. (It's almost 50 years ago, so I definitely could be wrong). I'm certain she was an unwed mother. I recall reading an interview with the actress, Maureen Silliman (I looked it up, that's her correct name, LOL). She started on the show just before the Dobsons started writing it. She was shocked to get a script that said her character had been pregnant since she hit town. I remember a scene where she told Tim she was going to leave SF for a better job for her daughter's sake (really, I think she was upset he was serious about Rita). I don't remember them getting married and leaving town, but according to "Who's Who in Springfield" that's how the characters were written out. Mattson did All My Children for several years, so she might have been persuadable. Here's an interesting factoid I recently learned on these message boards: Elvera Roussel was in the running to play Delia on RH when the show first hit the air. How wild is it that Mattson played Delia for a while? (Though from what I saw of her performance, she was miscast). It's hard to know if Roussel would have been a good Delia. You'd think she would have been better suited to playing Faith Coleridge, but who knows? She didn't get to show a whole lot of range as Hope.
    • If I were to do an EON reboot, I think I would start at the beginning, with Mike Karr leaving the police force in order to begin a new career as an attorney, and dealing with his wife, Sara's, crooked family.
    • I don't know if it was the writing or performance but I felt like we finally got to see the real Ted. Especially the way he talked to Martin when confronted, felt like a completely different person. He felt darker and like a total liar who was mad he got caught. I expected him to be remorseful and want to apologize to each and every family member who he came into contact with but he seemed like he didn't care. It completely changed how I view him and it makes me wonder if this is the direction they're going to take Ted in with the recast.
