Finally, Johnny knows the truth!

I’ve been waiting for them to do this storyline ever since we heard that Johnny and Allie were being aged and I hope it plays out for a long time and has huge ripple effects all across the canvas. I thought Carson Boatman did pretty well too. Plus, this is such a better way to use him/Johnny than they have previously. Same can be said for Kate/Lauren Koslow. I didn’t expect her to be a part of this but I’m glad that she was. The only thing that this storyline needed was for Roman to have a bigger part. We should have gotten his reaction to EJ/Fake Rafe 2.0 and everything that happened with Sami a lot sooner and a lot more than just one time yesterday. Hopefully, they continue to have a big part in this storyline.

Btw, I wonder what Johnny and Allie thought was the reason why they were twins with different fathers

Belle’s a total dumbass though but I still like this part of the storyline and the mess that she’s in. She and EJ did really well today too. I’m looking forward to the fall out when Paulina finds out that Belle had sex with EJ again. Again, a much better way to use the character of Paulina too.

Shawn continuing to have a part in this could be really good as well. They just really need to have Belle talk about all the things EJ did to her own family instead of just what he did to Rafe and Jada. This could all be such a good mess.

For the first time, nuSophia actually felt a little like old Sophia today, at least in the beginning anyway lol. Definitely not as good, but it’s a start. I liked that she was there for Tate, both when he was ranting about Doug III and when he was telling her about John. As good as that scene was, it also tells me that making Sophia was pregnant (and reuniting Tate and Holly) so quickly really wasn’t necessary. Like I said before, they should have waited until after John died.

And yes Tate, we all thought John was invincible too

And, Doug III looked hot

He was really sweet and dorky today too. I like watching their friendship/relationship grow and I’m curious about what they’re going to do try to get the necklace. And what Tate’s gonna do because of it.

All in all, I think yesterday and today were two of the best episodes we’ve gotten in a while. I’m still wondering what made them so good. Hopefully, this good streak continues into next week. And that Johnny beats the s*it out of EJ too

He deserves a lot more than just a punch

An episode that I did not fast-forward. I am shocked!

I'm glad Kate is the one who told Johnny the truth about how he was conceived..

Belle is a stupid ho!

If certain writers had had their way, practically all the men in Salem would've been shirtless AND pants-less all the time (with Leo always standing nearby, salivating worse than a Saint Bernard).

I think it's more odd all these men just work out in their living rooms lol.  Doug, Alex, Xander, and Phillip have all been shown just working out on their floors in their homes or hotel rooms.  Just like get a gym set Days or at least pretend these guys are leaving the gym.

So, yes, they can't afford it, but just think of how often they could use it.  A set of weights and a bench can't be much more than EJ's shirt he was wearing today.

Although I strongly believe Days buys every designer piece off season at Nordstrom Rack and nothing costs as much as worn on tv says it does lol.

It is ironic that I am willing to suspend disbelief that Allie and Johnny never questioned their conception because nobody ever mentioned it.  Or, because they didn't know who to ask about it.  However, nobody in the world would ever verbalize the obvious that they were conceived out of violence, while their twin was conceived out of love.

@AbcNbc247 I must disagree that they are being more sensitive because I was really let down today.  Johnny should be angry for the trauma that his beloved mother suffered.  Instead, it was written as if Johnny is angry that his self-perception has been ruined by knowing about the violence associated with his conception.  It was as if he was more upset to be a consequence of rape, than he was upset that Sami had to live with that fact.  Hopefully, his secondary response will be more sensitive once he has digested the situation.

That sounds terribly written/directed/acted/whatever.
Are they going for Johnny is a selfish p.o.s.? Or is this just poorly done?

Also, Carson Boatman doesn't have the acting skills to pull this storyline off, regardless of how they're writing Johnny to be.

I've been wanting to see this reveal for 17 years!  But I don't want to bother with paying for even one month of Peacock to see it poorly done.
(I need closed-captioning, but the copies on dailymotion and youtube don't have it)

I personally didn't think the reveal to Johnny was bad or even that CB was bad.  It's been about an hour give Johnny some time to process.

I do think this story is missing a lot of notable players like obviously Sami, but also Will, Allie, Lucas, and still not cast Sydney.

I liked the reveal, and I liked the lead up to the reveal.  I just didn't like Johnny's initial response.  It was heightened enough to be appropriate for the gravity of the revelation.  But, I thought the content of Johnny's dialogue lacked sensitivity.  Although, to be fair, Kate was magnanimously sensitive toward Sami, in a moment where she could've really screwed over her former foe.

It doesn't help that although biologically Kate is not Johnny's grandmother, I cannot remember a single other scene of them interacting.  So, it wasn't grounded in any type of character development.

He's saving that for his LGBTQ+ themed soap

Guess I'll keep waiting

Maybe that was Ron being petty

Hopefully, we'll get a scene of that at some point over the course of this storyline.

Or at least when

Agreed.

Allie, at least, should be a part of this.

    • I know at one point they were on Hulu & i-Tunes. I just checked it on JustWatch.com & it indicates 1 season on Prime Video & on AppleTV. Have fun!
    • That era is so weird...they made a big deal out of all three of those characters and then they just..disappeared! Not that I am complaining. We talk about the bad out of character writing for Alex under JFP..but this was one example that may have led them to write her being so obsessive with Nick.  WHY would Alex accept Flock of Seagulls guy as her brother? They had her in one scene (setting up the Alan return) complain that Alan abandoned her...she blackmailed him into leaving town and she had been angry at him for helping Brandon with Lujack and also using Spaulding for that dumb dreaming death thing. Endless scenes of her with Simon, I can't believe Bev wasn't bored to death! I would also add Pam writing the scene where she lets Ms. Sally die in front of her to protect Alan and  the writing for Alex could be screwy even before JFP.
    • On this day 34 years ago the final episode of Dallas and came in at an astonishing #2 in the ratings after two straight seasons of weak ratings. Interesting Knots was #27 for that week as well:

    • Thank you for clearing that up. I wasn't watching GL regularly yet at that point, but seems to me I should have remembered the big wedding after Leslie's death (which I do remember) described in the profile. Is there a web archive of SOD summaries, or are referring to your own personal collection?
    • I was bummed that 2.0 ended because Mcpherson (headwriter) had really set up some interesting stories and we never got to find out where the stories would go once they resumed production on 'season 2'. I remembered the EP (Ginger Smith) and a lot of the stars gave a lot of credit to McPherson being able to come in on very short notice and come up with stories/plots (I think it was a very short turnaround time of a few weeks).  It was nice that she got to redeem herself after her year long Days stint was not well reviewed/liked.

    • It seems like a setup for failure to review a single episode of a soap, but Cleveland Amory was a foolish man.  His taste was so predictable, that one wondered why bother reviewing a medium he so clearly disliked. (found on Facebook retro TV group) Another case in point of his misogyny from his review of Dark Shadows (Can you imagine the magazine with the widest circulation in the country insulting its customer in this way today?)

    • They could easily be re-created, or even re-shot in different ways, especially if they were re-shooting scenes at some point, as well.
    • The Ted recast really is a shame because now they won't be able to do flashbacks to the best scenes the show has done to date.
    • That would be an AMAZING twist.
