Dani was doing the absolute most and is giving bitter and pressed. I get her pain but this attitude is gonna get old real fast

Exactly why I think she’ll be polarizing - Some will see her this way, while others will think she’s totally justified.

When II saw the initial trailers, II thought she and her ex were still married and she was just catching him cheating. But nah it happened some time ago, they divorced and he's about to remarry. Plus their child is a grown 23 year old. It sucks but she's gonna have to get over it and move on

As someone who learned to watch and love soaps at my mothers knee, this is bad! I mean dead fish wrapped in newspaper stinky. I predict threads about this show will be in the canceled soaps section with 2 or 3 years. If  that long.

It is disappointing to hear that you did not find the first episode of Beyond the Gates to be as compelling as the 1954 premiere of The Secret Storm.

I was going to say the 1951 premiere of Search for Tomorrow, but this works just as well!

Just trolling and looking for attention is all it is.

The only negative is the hospital set

Too bright and too white. Needs repainting.

I completely agree with this. A colleague and I binge-watched the episodes over the weekend and that was the one set we didn't really like. It was blah!

I did like the Black nurse and want to see more of her. I'm not really feeling Asheyl (Jen Jacob). I think Andre needs to teach her a few things because Ben (Ben Gavin) is just nothing special, and I usually like a fire fighter.

TBF, Nicole seems to already be over it so it looks like we'll get other characters reacting to her being ridiculous. I think that's what's missing on soaps these days.

Yeah so far she's bland and her acting is horrid

I agree: the set felt too... melted, if that makes sense? But, at the same time, it also felt familiar, as if I'd seen it in my life. Almost an older-type hospital of sorts.

As for Jen Jacob, I adore her. Ben Gavin (Derek) is the one who I believe is dragging her down, because I've seen her primetime work, and she gets it. He's the weakest link who I'd vote off the island.

The confusion might be because this was the logo for P&G Productions (seen at the ends of ATWT and GL).

image.png

P&G Productions spunoff Telenext Media in 2008, then was subsumed by Telenext in 2013, until their final production, The People's Choice Awards were sold to the E! Channel in 2017

P&G Studios, which partially produces Beyond the Gate, was formed in 2020.  So, those looking for a connection to prior soaps should know that the actual relationship is purely public relations.  The ads are true that P&G has a long history with soaps, but P&G Studios is only five years old and shares none of the resources of the prior division.  The two companies have nothing to do with each other.  (sorry to be a Debbie Downer).

You aren't being a Debbie Downer, I appreciate the clarification. But the parent company P&G stills owns the IP of PGP and its soaps, right?
