This Sofia/Tate storyline is so stupid. Sofia’s mom can’t force Tate to marry her daughter. It’s stupid to even pretend she has the power to do that.

Beyond annoying. It's a story right of of 1960, and it's garbage. Once again, Carlivati has taken a good storyline and made it a joke. Watching these characters behave as if this makes sense is too much.

The music played at Chanel's NYE party was wretched. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Just another reason to fire Janet Spellman-Drucker.

Haven't seen today's show yet, but yesterday's promising first 30 minutes was upended by writing stupidity.

Why in the hell would Johnny take Joy upstairs to tell her he wasn't happy about her being at the party? And not only that, it was NEAR FRICKIN MIDNIGHT. None of that made sense.

Neither did seeing Philip standing on the other side of the room from Stephanie when the ball dropped. It was the lamest NYE countdown I have ever seen, with pretty much no celebration at midnight. Couples were apart at midnight??? Awful production and writing.

I have to admit I enjoy Fake Rafe and think he's hilarious. It's the only good work Galen Gering has done in years LOL.

I wonder if the hook is going to be the father?  Since Amy and Sophia seem fearful of him.

Because, I agree it is 2025, Tate is wealthy, and his family already has a lot of scandals (I mean his Mom is in jail). So, there is zero motive for Tate to marry Sophia simply to please her mother, who he just met yesterday.

It’s like they lost interest in Johnny/Chanel. There were so many ways they could’ve created conflict for the two of them that would’ve been a lot better than this. Even the strike writers had a lot of chances and they didn’t take them. 

And I agree that Allie would be a good source of conflict for them too, but with Ron more or less hating the character, I don’t see her coming back.

I agree especially since Joy told Alex the same story a few weeks ago according to Alex.  No offense to Joy or Johnny, but they don't seem smart enough to coordinate fake stories if they got caught lol

Allie, Sami, Tripp/Wendy, EJ vs. Paulina etc.  Even the baby Chanel lost possibly having birth defects would have been a story if she was able to continue the pregnancy.  They both get a lot of airtime, but they end up with plot points and no long term story.

Also, lil'Allie was the first one to suspect that Arnold was masquerading as Rafe last time, so she'd be useful, especially given that the Chief of Police can't id her own fiancé.

Johnny has been lying this whole time and never even did the deed. Is he the worst Dimera spawn of all time? Rachel acts like more of a Dimera than Johnny. Are we even sure Sami is his mom? We already have the nice Dimera I actually like in Tony and they never use him.

Johnny's misdeeds have been very low stakes so far (besides being the devil).  IIRC, according to Allie he was a jerk and womanizer but he quickly got neutered to be a decent guy.  I think Ron and co have no idea what to do with Johnny and, well, Carson Boatman is pretty limited in his acting skills.  I still think you could make Johnny into a villain or at least more grey of a character with proper writing.

Hmm..I consider Chad the nice Dimera lol.

Oh [!@#$%^&*] why did I forget about Chad. I actually love Chad when it comes to DiMeras. But I’ve always been a big Thaao fan so I always enjoyed Tony and Andre. Thaao is such a soap actor in the best way to me and he’s never phoned it in. I’ve grown to love Tony/Anna as the elder DiMera’s. Hoping new regime uses them as the patriarch and matriarch even if they’re nice.

Out of all the potential couples, I’m the happiest for JJ/Gabi, even though Javi was a little unnecessary in their scenes today. I would much rather have seen it be focused more on the two of them, rather than him.

I have mixed feelings about the way that  they’re writing Stephanie though. I like that she’s being all messy and conflicted over her feelings, but if she’s being written this way just to prop Alex, then that just messes up everything. She doesn’t need to become Alex’s little woman, the same way that Ciara became Ben’s little woman. Can you imagine how good this show would be if there was no propping? Stephanie should have actual feelings for Philip instead of just basically using him. That would add another good layer to this storyline. I enjoyed their scenes today, and I do see some chemistry between them. Btw, I see Philip goes to the same tanning salon as his brother, Rex 😂😂😂

And yeah, still Team Philip, despite that last scene when Alex saw him and Stephanie lol I think it’s time for a brawl between the two of them. Or with Xander. 

As for Johnny/Chanel, this all still seems like a huge letdown. Or that there was a rewrite half way through the story. Idk.

Btw, I wonder what brand that black underwear that all the men wear is 😍😂😂
