I actually don't think it's weird Kristen is on Marlena's radar constantly considering everything that has happened since 1995 lol.  The show just doesn't hit the right beats with the rivalry.  They were practically cordial a few years ago.  I just don't think it's strange a woman that tried to kill her, kidnap her, steal her husband, manipulate her stepson, raped her son, and is now the mother of her granddaughter through trickery is on her mind. Days for some reason decides not to use that as motivation even though it would be super easy to do so.

I appreciate that the Dimera's are finally going to market some of Rolf's inventions.  I mean, it has to be the longest running, privately funded, medical research in history at this point.  But, can you imagine trying to get it approved by the FDA?

FDA: Has this method been proven to work on humans?

Rolf: Well, my cerebral microchips showed some progress until there was radio interference.  And I lowered the cost of brainwashing by using a salad colander.  But, when I tried to sell my custom masks to Spirit Halloween, they complained the latex was not hypoallergenic.

Idk about that new AI shot of the hospital. If they changed it because fans complained or something, I can’t help but think that fans are gonna complain about the new one too.

Despite the storyline and Clyde in general, I’m still really liking the Greene siblings. All four of them, including NotAbigail are really charming. That charm was full on display in Aaron and Felicity’s first scenes today. They all have good sibling chemistry together. It just sucks that this is all happening for no reason other than the fact that somebody (I won’t say who) hated Abigail so much that he wasn’t gonna bring her back no matter what.

I am a little interested in why NotAbigail needed to have plastic surgery though. And that Felicity think she looks familiar. Aaron also needs to be put back into the Tate/Holly/Sophia storyline as well.

I always love Chad/Julie scenes.

Rafe/Gabi have good sibling chemistry too, but they’re not as charming as the Greenes

I’m glad that Stefan is filing for divorce though. And that Rafe gave EJ a warning about staying away from Gabi. That could all lead to something good happening, even for Rafe/Jada as well.

That, to me, was the shock of the day.  I thought the whole thing about the plastic surgery was a lie.  Because, if they forced her to get plastic surgery, why wouldn't they make her look like Marci Miller?

Also, why do all of EJ's stories get resolved in a day?  He's fired as the DA, then immediately gets rehired.  He's going to sue Stefan, then immediately takes it back.  He wants to be CEO, then he immediately goes back to being a DA.  The dude is very wishy-washy.

And are we going for a Gabi/EJ/Stefan triangle or not?  Today, Gabi no longer seemed compelled by EJ.  But, when she woke up from the explosion, it appeared like she was interested in EJ.

Finally, it's funny that Gabi is staying in the hospital longer than Sarah.  Even Rafe is getting discharged first.

They're Wasting Dan! The man can act like give him a storyline with Momentum for him to work on! Seems they only know how to use EJ on Romantic/Sexual Storylines, But He could serve so much more! A Pity his newfound Rivalry With Belle was Thrown in the trash last year!

I enjoy EJ's scenes with Stefan and Kristen, even though their conflict feels very inorganic and not character-driven.  So, I wish there was more interaction between the siblings in order to define the agenda of the Dimeras, and differentiate them from the Kiriakis clan.  The stories of who gets to be CEO, and who is in love, have been well trodden at this time, and we need a fresh perspective.

It could also be fun if each sibling inherited a specific trait from Stefano.

  1. Kristen could be megalomaniacal
  2. Stefan could be fiercely loyal to his family
  3. And EJ could have his father's fatal weakness, an obsession with a woman he could never have.

Although, I guess, Kristen is the most likely to be obsessed, EJ has a family to be loyal toward, which makes Stefan the most likely to be interested in world domination.

I just read an interesting preview, which suggests that Eric's whole investigation into Sarah's accident was supposed to be a John storyline, but Drake was too sick.  I like Eric, but I sort of wish Steve and/or Jada was also more involved in the solving the crime.  It would be nice if the Salem PD finally solved a crime on their own for once.

Especially because Jada kind of dropped the ball on the whole Connie thing, by never going into the room where Melinda was being held because the hospital called about Rafe.

Kristen and Marlena had an episode's worth of scenes a week or two ago where Kristen came to Marlena's office, invited her and John to Grandparents' Day at Rachel's school, and went on and on about how she still loves Brady. Marlena had a hilarious reaction after Kristen finally took a breath, something along the lines of, "Thanks for saying all that." Totally deadpan.

So Kristen herself put the bug in Marlena's head.

Just like going from Theresa to Eve to Nicole to Kristen to Chloe to Kristen (or however it all went) was not healthy! Eric Martsolf manages to sell just about every pairing, but boy does this man need to learn to be single.

Both Brady and EJ could focus on being fathers and businessmen for a while.  The constant focus on romantic pairings of middle-aged characters, without any exploration of the origin of the attraction, or their prior romantic failures, is my pet peeve.

    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
    • The Bell soaps, B&B and Y&R: cannot watch. If I went by the last time I did I would have to give them both D- but I really don't think it counts when you're not a daily watcher.  DAYS: B+ (Now this is with the knowledge that for years I have given this show a D- because I've been a fan for too long to give it the F it deserved.) GH: A+ (With Korte driving this bus to me the show is so much better! IMO we just had the best NB in so many years I cannot count!) BTG: A solid (Things I love, a few I do not, nothing I hate, still find it in general remarkable.) As always, thanks for doing this thread. I count it. I always look for it & I always post.
    • Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.  About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.  Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category. I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria. I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu. Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!
    • Lois and Gloria did the right thing I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth
